too many women seem to have boobs pointing south, or four of them.

then LOOK AT YOUR REAR VIEW

have you a fat back rippling out from underneath it?
if so please get a bigger bra.

ithankyou

Those are some fine breasts BoF and even better in real life.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 24/03/2009 18:21

I mean the painting, natch.

BitOfFun · 24/03/2009 18:26

< snurk >

It's alright, I won't inflict them on anyone here really...

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2009 18:33

What do you do then, if measuring?

LackaDAISYcal · 24/03/2009 18:35

I can hold a can of lager under mine....do I win a prize?????

georgiemama, apparently that's the way it used to be done, but not any more, although m&s haven't caught up with the rest of the underwear world yet.

I'm with BoF on the puddles in the bottom of t-shirt bras, and I am...erm....substantial of nork. the lovely lady in Bravissimo said that some people just don't suit that syle. I need soft cups rather than rigid padded type cups to mould to my lovely curves....apparently.

and bosom is indeed a lovely word.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/03/2009 18:38

according to bravissimo....you don't trillianastra

BitOfFun · 24/03/2009 18:38

Well, it's not an exact science, but basically measure round the ribcage in inches, then the fullest point of the bust. One inch more, gives an A, two a B etc. Double letters are half sizes.

< disclaimer > You still need to try on though, and different styles will suit some people more than others.

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:43

I was showing your pics to DH the other day BoF - we decided that as much as I love them, a) we have no money and b) it would be weird to have an MNer hung in the house

My norks may be impressive today (within the bra), but my chest is really spotty this last fortnight and I can't seem to fix it.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 24/03/2009 18:44

mine look like this can anyone help me work out what to do?

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:44

Measuring has never worked for me - I have a weird back size or very full norks or summat.

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:45

Greyskull - stop tuckin them in your knickers would help

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2009 18:49

Stop showing off Flame 'I have very full norks'

So did bras change at the time that the way to measure changed? If I found a 30-year-old 34B bra would it actually be 38 around the chest?

Milliways · 24/03/2009 18:51

Would you proud enough to bare This bra on National TV??

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:51

"very full norks" should be translated to "full when folded up and rammed in a sturdy bra". When left to roam free, they are like Greyskull's

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:52

That's fitting her terribly! her right nork is spilling out the middle

AnyFucker · 24/03/2009 18:52

the pics of BOF's boobs make me want to weep

and also change sides, IYKWIM

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2009 18:54

Why would you wear a 'flesh-coloured' bra (eurgh) under black/grey top anyway?

In that case you should be bra advisor Flame - if your profile pic is anything to go by

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:56

Ah that is corsetry goodness Trillian - no bras involved

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 18:56

I wear whatever bra is clean (have 2 that fit well, one flesh coloured - they didn't do that style in white)

AnyFucker · 24/03/2009 18:57

just peeked at flames pics

those boobs make me weep too

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2009 18:59

I have one bra that whenever I try to get DP's opinion about clothes he always says 'wear something that you can wear the red bra with'. I think I need to get more like that.

There are lots of online forums for social anxiety/phobia; one is www.social-anxiety.org.uk.
If you google 'social phobia forums' you'll find lots to look at.
Probably best to check them out yourself, though, as you don't want your son to end up in a self-perpetuating cycle with others supporting his stay-at-home choices.
As others have said, though, he may just be still growing up, and this is a part of that. It sounds as if he's pleasant and well-behaved, and thankfully not depressed, so try not to dwell on trying to make him be the person you'd like him to be.
It's really important that he feels accepted as he is, so he doesn't dig his heels in at attempts to change him.
And it's to your credit that he's come through what he has and remained a nice guy.

BitOfFun · 24/03/2009 19:12

< grabs Anyfucker to ample bosom >

Aw Flame, if you had bought one I would have been more chuffed than the chemical romance fella!

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2009 19:12

Probably the wrong thread there. This is a happy thread about norks and boobies and whatnot.
