New thread and it's welcome to the roaring twenties beauty addicts!

It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

If you're new here welcome and hello and for everyone else nice to see you back on Mumsnet's most tempting thread series that you cannot ignore even if you want to. 😈😍😂

I've sent you a PM. I'm getting there in figuring it out.

Out this evening but I’ll check that and get back to you later x

No problem. Sorry for the various messages but I think I have it figured out just about!

Yes, unfortunately there isn't a high chance of a good outcome for you here but if it's returned in a different state to how it was sent I think you can raise a report on your end. Very hard to say who Vinted will side with.

It's possible the buyer isn't trying to scam as I find some some people on Vinted are (understandably to some extent) quite paranoid about fake products.

I remember someone on here a while back had a buyer who bought a Decree PM serum thinking it was the AM one and therefore presumed there was something wrong with it because it looked different.

It was me who had the buyer complaining about the decree serum. I think she was genuinely concerned and was just confused about which one she’d used. I don’t blame buyers for being cautious
I just gave her a refund and she sent it back . Maybe I was lucky but I certainly didn’t think she was a scammer and my thought process was to be the bigger person and just refund rather than give her concerns and then for her to report me.
tbis was on eBay though which I feel has fewer scammers than Vinted. I just accepted the loss of the £25 or whatever … but when it came back and was clearly the same item
i used it .
i think scammers are now just an accepted risk on Vinted but I agree that by far most people are genuine .

APPFLASH810 - 20% off for the next two hours on the Sephora app. Usual exclusions and doesn’t work on the advent.

OvaHere · 09/09/2026 21:11

Has anyone caved and bought one of the new Hourglass palettes yet?

Almost but then I considered they’re half the cost of an advent - so it’s made me stall. Slightly.

No, I nearly did when I saw a 30% off code on BD's insta story but it wouldn't work on the UK site 🤣 I did buy the Patrick Ta eyeshadow palette with the sparkles in and the 2 new morphe holiday palettes as they're £19.58 on look fantastic. I was only going to buy one, but it was £4 for p&p for 1 or free p&p for both, so it made sense to buy both 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn't even know there was Morphe holiday palettes! 😬

I've watched a few HG videos on YT now. Not sure what I think about them. The highlight on the fair one looks v bright and I'm unsure about the blushes. Could do with seeing them in person.

I was going to post them on here when I got a few seconds. I bought them through the app which gives you a bigger saving and also used the code BDLF which took about a quid off.

It's weird that a code works with them as usually they're exempt for a while. I tried cult beauty but no codes would work with them on there.

They look interesting. You'll have to feedback on a wear test.

I've watched a few too and I think some of the colours are too similar to the one I bought last year.

Will do. I'm looking forward to trying the shimmery blushers. I do already have some of the morphs trio blushers and really like them. I've also just bought the Huda strawberry latte blush palette, I think I need to stop with the blushers 🙄

If I'm feeling brave at some point I might post my blush drawer in my new dresser. I love it but...😵

Yes, post it 😍 my drawer is a mix of foundations and blushers, it's deep though so you can't see much, takes a bit of digging around to find what you want 🤣

MrsBnow12 · 09/09/2026 22:01

I have just sorted out my blush and eye shadow drawer, yes they each have their drawer and if I look at them I do not need another of either but am off to look at LF as am
sure I have some account credit.

I have a separate drawer for eyeshadows. Its definitely needed 🤣 I also have a box of older palettes (3-4 years) that I just can't part with just yet. And a drawer for highlighters, bronzers, primers, settings sprays and powders 🙈

Advice needed please: I sold a bottle of Medik8 liquid peptides on Vinted. The buyer is claiming it’s counterfeit, that I have decanted a cloudy liquid into a bottle and that they want a refund. I’ve never dealt with this before. It was new from the Fairy - I decided I didn’t need 3 bottles as I had more serums coming in my BACs - so I know it wasn’t out of date or anything else. What to do??

Could you share their username please so I can block them :)

Morning, long time lurker on the thread, I hope this is okay to ask!

My DD is turning 14 and is into skincare and make up but has quite sensitive, very pale skin, can anyone reccomend brands, especially make up, that might be good for her please? We usually pick up bits in SNK but am happy to buy from anywhere for some brithday treats for her.

She's more normal skin type then anything but sensitive, has some redness/possibly rosacea.

Thanks!

Welcome. Erborian Red Correct Skin Tint is good for redness. I use it as a primer sometimes but it's also fine as a light tint. It does bring redness down without looking like heavy make up. I'm also very pale.

I also like Laneige products especially the overnight sleeping masks. I like the Cica one for redness and the pink Bouncy one. The blue one is also popular.

The Laneige Cream Skin spray is also very nice.

LANEIGE Cream Skin Cerapeptide Mist | Space NK

Refresh the skin with Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide Mist, an ultra-fine, pocket-sized hydrating facial spray featuring white leaf tea.

My DD is 14 and just getting into makeup, also very pale. Her skin isn't great so I don't really want her wearing foundation yet but we happened to be in Selfridges on her birthday and ended up getting her a Charlotte tilbury concealer. They were so lovely on the counter, I think it's a great brand for makeup that age (although expensive so only for a special treat). They were really good at colour matching without putting on too much pressure to buy. I wouldn't get her their skincare, we're sticking to La Roche Posay and that kind of thing for now. But the concealer is great for making her feel she's made up without being too heavy on her skin.

Most of her other makeup is things that I've bought and passed onto her because they don't suit me 😆
