It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

Thank you. I do have Sorcery which I love and remember thinking Betty looked rather lovely when it came out. Perhaps I will keep an eye to see if that comes back in stock again. I have the Charlotte Tilbury Denim palette which I enjoy using.

I was also going to suggest Betty but noticed it’s OOS everywhere! Fingers crossed it gets restocked.

@ClimbUpTheDrainpipe Have you tried any palettes from Cosmic Brushes? Good quality and lots of bright colours. This one has lots of blues

There's not been a lot of colourful palettes released recently that spring to mind. The other was Dior Lucky Clover in the green but that was Ltd edition and seems to be sold out everywhere.

Holiday releases will be coming soon though and I'm sure it's this time of year Byredo usually release something.

Isamaya core palettes 1.0 and 2.0? I haven't tried them so can't personally recommend.

Advice needed please: I sold a bottle of Medik8 liquid peptides on Vinted. The buyer is claiming it’s counterfeit, that I have decanted a cloudy liquid into a bottle and that they want a refund. I’ve never dealt with this before. It was new from the Fairy - I decided I didn’t need 3 bottles as I had more serums coming in my BACs - so I know it wasn’t out of date or anything else. What to do??

Sounds like they are trying it on to get a free product but even if they do genuinely believe the product is not right I would insist they return for a refund.

Don't just refund with no return, that in theory should weed out how serious they are. You may have to pay for the return unfortunately but try not to end up in a position where they get to keep it for free (if that's their intention).

Over on the BAC thread there's an example of one of the products in this year's Liberty calendar being out of date in January next year so it's possible it's out of date even if you bought it new. Can you get them to show you the batch code so you can check it on Checkfresh?

They’re also claiming it’s been opened and used, and that it is highly fragranced. I suspect they’ve swapped it out with something else, as the other bottles I’ve received are nothing like that. But yes, I think too hard to prove it’s a scam so I will get them to return (although pretty sure what I get back won’t be what I sent out) and then provide refund & chuck it.

Yes, unfortunately there isn't a high chance of a good outcome for you here but if it's returned in a different state to how it was sent I think you can raise a report on your end. Very hard to say who Vinted will side with.

It's possible the buyer isn't trying to scam as I find some some people on Vinted are (understandably to some extent) quite paranoid about fake products.

I remember someone on here a while back had a buyer who bought a Decree PM serum thinking it was the AM one and therefore presumed there was something wrong with it because it looked different.

I messaged the buyer to say that it really wasn’t counterfeit and she’s replied that she knew immediately there was a problem because she’s been using the product for 3 years. I didn’t think the product had been around that long? Anyway I’ve asked for a return and I’ll write it off. Really upsetting.

That's different then, definitely sounds like a scam. Vinted seems terrible for that unfortunately.

It is very frustrating when this happens but even if it means writing the product off my aim would be to make sure they didn't end up with a free product if that's what they're trying to do here.

I’ve replied to them again saying I will accept a return but have also pointed out that the product has only been on the market since early 2025 so they may have confused it with something else if they have been using it for 3 years. I reckon it’s a scam, especially when looking at their reviews (very low, and all for selling) but too late to do more than make them return whatever it is they decide to send back. I don’t think I’ll be able to prove to Vinted it’s different from the item I sent as I didn’t take a video of wrapping & drop off - life is too short for that level of paranoia for £25!

@Fillybuster Thats rubbish. So sorry you’ve run into someone like this. It makes me think we should set up our own little FB group for swapping and selling our spares. Not sure how we’d do that though.

I’d message Vinted with everything including fact they said they’ve been using for 3 years and fact it’s only been available for x. Do you have photos from pre sending? Send as much as you can. Good luck, some people are so unpleasant, so sorry.:

I have thought about doing that but I have concerns about administrating a group where sales happen. I think swaps and giveaways with p&p costs only might work although there would be no controls over people selling via PMs.

I'd also want to make sure only thread regulars join so the group wasn't too big and had an added level of trust - but how to vet that process I'm not sure.

The Liquid Peptides in the white bottle launched in around 2021 I think. It was the Advanced Peptides in the black pump that launched in 2025 so it might be true they've used it for a while. So hard to tell on Vinted what someone's intentions are.

@Fillybuster - I am so sorry this has happened to you. I get very very upset by this sort of unpleasantness myself, so I feel for you. It’s the injustice of it all as well as the financial loss that really gets to you. There are some seriously unpleasant people out there.

I second getting her to return it - assuming she’s scamming she really won’t want to do this, but I don’t know if Vinted can compel her to. She could even just send back an empty bottle of something else and claim that’s what you sent. It’s a mess.

Please let us know how you get on. Unfortunately, scammers will scam, are shameless and are everywhere! Fortunately, however, most buyers/sellers are still legit!

@OvaHere - I’m not on FB so haven’t got a clue how this works, but over on the Toast thread someone set up a Toast selling page on FB just for people on the thread - invite only - partly because of similar issues selling very expensive Toast clothes on Vinted/eBay.

It’s been going for a couple of years now, is very successful and everyone seems happy.

I will post over there and see if anyone currently on the thread knows how it was set up.

That’s a good idea. And it could be one of the rules when people ask to join that they give their MN username perhaps?

Thanks @IlovePond appreciate you doing that. It is something I will consider doing if there's enough interest and we can put some safeguards in place.

Anyone could scan these threads and pick out a username though. Needs some thinking about. 🤔
