Oh this is a fab idea! I’m going to do this (DIY mix of jam & cake) 😃

I am also going to buy a food one. I loved the look of the F&M tea and biscuits one last year but couldn’t bring myself to buy one, but given how much I spent on other ACs, I have clearly overcome that shame 😅
There was also a mixed food one recommended that looked good, but I can’t remember the name.

I bought the Bonne Maman jam AC for my dad a couple of years ago as he likes the minis for self catering holidays, however, it was less of a hit than I was expecting 🙈😅 (I’d say ungrateful bugger but he’s actually not)

@BeanNaGealai @JoRaRaRa Thanks for the reassurance regarding the Harrods orders 😊 The money is still in my account today. I’ll keep an eye on it.

That was a lot of catching up to do!

Not interested at all in Cult so far, but I do like the look of Sephora (helped by the inclusion of my fav Kayali frag in Juicy Apple). None of the other ones that have done reveals so far are tempting me.

Impatiently kicking my feet for full reveals now, hate the drip feeding!

Was it Degusta @Thelifeofawife? I managed to get one for £27 last year which was a fun family one to open

I bought Degusta today for my husband after being recommended on here last year, it was £34, hope he likes it. I also splurged on the Harrods FAC for the first time as I've just turned 50. Got my eye on the LF, Boots and JL FAC (depending on contents), and Anthropologie - I have £20 off loyalty discount and enjoyed it last year. I enjoyed Nuxe last year too. Great info on here, and @MaryBD too!

Thanks for sharing. I think CB is ruled out for me, I'm not especially coveting any of these items or the make up so far.

I really can’t keep up with you lot, thread three already!

I have convinced myself that I don’t really want the f&m advent but I have also spent a lot of some money on face the future on discounted Bioeffect and another glow on the go edit. I bought one a little while ago and have liked everything in it and it is now reduced so…

Definitely not buying a calendar now! Although I am a bit concerned that there is nothing to surprise me in my Frankenstein. I still have four empty drawers so I just need someone willing to fill them with things I haven’t thought of myself!

I can't access via the link but this is one I might look out for on a discount. I've got back into Dermalogica this year. I used it quite a bit in my 30s but stopped in favour of cheaper stuff when life with kids got a bit expensive.

I was the same with both my rituals and e-spa ones. I’ve used them all but they just weren’t as exciting to open. The e-spa was quite a boring box too which didn’t help, at least rituals was beautiful to look at!

I went to Bicester village today, no calendars yet in rituals. or molton brown. Amazing deals in Clarins - they had the 4 full size lip oils gift set for £38. I abstained as I already have er a few…..

Ooh I could be tempted by the Dermalogica one! I am thinking for my birthday early next year, so could hold out for a discount, but knowing my luck it would sell out

I’ve ordered Liberty and Harrods FAC. I’m thinking I’ll also get the bird &blend tea one again and possibly the Chocolate Smiths. Last years Anthropologie was ok but a bit meh. I’ve just started a Pott candle subscription as well, so I might get a few and make myself a mini candle advent.

I have only seen few items for Cult beauty but it looks interesting.

Now the items that Fleur revealed in CB do interest me but the official sneak peak makeup items completely put me off, even with £75 credit.

morning all …just catching up on threads from the past 2 days @Nomorechocs for a teen advent calendar , lush or body shop were always a good bet ….ive done a Frankenstein calendar for my daughter using an old advent calendar and the unwanted bits /duds from my previous years calendars (lip gloss , sol de janerio, hair products , eye lash curler , hair clips, etc) ….or if you don’t have a ‘stash’ from previous years advent calendars …primark were a good source of bits to fill a calendar with…

@Nomorechocs I’ve bought Beauty Bay’s advent in the past for teen DDs, not sure if they are doing one this year but it went down well. I’ve got the 12 day Harrods one for them this year and hoping the Sephora ones are good to add in, otherwise I might get the Sephora best of K beauty gift box and mix it in a home made one.
I’ve also had the F&M tea and biscuits the past two years, it’s a lovely sharing one but not enough teas that take milk to make me buy a third time, we ended up with a lot of leftover tea such as black tea with strawberry. It’s great if you’ve not had before though - I don’t think there were many changes between the two years.

also reporting back from my little trip to harrods fragrance hall on friday ….I didnt get to try all of the perfumes in the advent calendar …i missed out on the MFK and the Floraiku which was a shame
but i did try the following
ex-nihilo brompton immortals extrait -Loved this …had the original bromptons from last years calendar which i didn’t initially love but smells beautiful after it dies down on the skin …this years is lighter and was an instant hit …im into floral , citrus , spicy and some ouds …not a fan of heavy ouds ….the ex-nihilo had hints of jasmine (which i love) and rose and it lasted all day so very happy with it
next up …
initio parfums prives - like getting punched in the face with Oud! i like oud but this was very strong …it did improve after a while but jury is still out on this one
parfum de marly exclusive - have the original of this which i love …this one smelled ‘creamier ‘ but died down to a muskier stronger scent ..another winner
memo de paris omnia omnibus oblique …think this was the one that smelled of ‘horses’ 😆…it wasn’t initially pleasant (think both myself and my sister said ‘ yuck’ ) but after a minute or two it massively improved and i quite like it
BDK Impadia - looked pretty but wasn’t a fan …my sister described it a toilet cleaner
Jeroboam Gozo - really different scent -spicy tuberose -loved it

thameen patiala …had rivière and peregrina previously and loved both but this is the best one so far
Amourage guidance -a nice perfume , nothing too ‘wow’ about it for me ….my sister loved it
jo malone -pear & freesia …again a nice perfume but nothing wow …would have preferred they put in their seasonal scent ‘ orange bitters’ …..
lastly borntostandout - golden milk …we both loved this , it smelled of a milkshake but not in a sickly way ..

overall …we came out covered in about 15 different perfumes each and struggled to remember what was what
both agree that ex-nihilo was our favorite and overall a great calendar
