I don't mind an aveda botanical repair- it's boring filler but I use it. However, ive constantly been pushed their new product on amazon's adverts- it's gold, leave in. It would have been a bit more exciting !

The Fenwicks BAC is calling out to me as I use Elemis & I loved the AB eye cream in Liberty last year & all the perfumes appeal.
However realistically I'm better off getting my Elemis PCM in the QVC Elemis Blockbuster in December & AB eye cream I can pick up up on Vinted or use my Liberty credit on.

So it's still F&M for me & Selfridges FAC

Thanks, this is moved to my must buy list. I am still using a small 5ml of the milk orchid but love it so that with other spoilers is enough for me to buy, price point dependant.

Can't recall if it’s confirmed but a friend was in Selfridges yesterday and the Thameen is the Rivière which is a shame as this was in Harrods and I think Fenwick last year.

Yeah, I really like the milk orchid too. @OvaHere sent me a travel size earlier in the year 🥰

Did they happen to mention which mind games or liquides imaginaires it's going to be? Or how much and most importantly, when? 🤣

I've seen a few people say on insta that it's going to be riviere. I hoped for something different. Whilst I like Riviere, I don't need 3 bottles of it 🤭

Nothing about the liquides but mind games is Queening and nothing around price or release date.
They tested the V Canto and said it’s very sweet, even sweeter than Kayali.
They also tested The Cora which we think is in Fenwick and said it was gorgeous.
I am starting to sway towards Fenwick as also have a Rivière from last year and 3 travel size Lust in paradise Extrait - decisions decisions

It’s a shame that it’s going to be Rivière, I ended up buying one off Vinted but felt that it was leaning more masculine, my DDad was very pleased with it being passed on to him, but I don’t think he will necessarily want 2 of them.

I am really liking the look of the Fenwicks, but I need to do my spreadsheet to review them all, which I’ve still not gotten around to 🙈

I am going to spreadsheet for the first time this year. I’m quite excited by the prospect 😊🤞. I’m not doing them all, just the ones that interest me. So most of them 😂🤣. Although, for the first time ever, I am feeling more restrained this year. Definitely won’t be one for every month this year (unless the reductions later in the season are too good to miss).

This might have been posted already but I noticed this morning the Harvey Nichols website has gone.

I also keep telling myself I probably don't need Selfridges FAC. I don't know if I can resist the FOMO but I'm making peace with the idea of not managing to get one in the gold rush.

I know I don't like Riviere and whilst I do like LIP Extrait it's not my favourite of the Extraits. There's still quite a few others that do interest me which are likely to be worth a lot more than the cost of the FAC.

I'm also more interested in The Cora but not sure if I want Fenwicks.

This is how I ended up buying around 7 advents last year. I'm trying not to do this again but they are making really difficult. 😂

I can’t bear MA, but I hope the takeover succeeds in that I don’t want another department store to close or people lose their jobs.

It’s making me realise how silly I am being in accruing £100s in credit with Liberty - you never know what is going on behind the scenes at any company.

If I don’t buy the men’s calendar, (or the - to me - pretty awful women’s one), I really must go in-store during the Xmas sale and find something to buy instead, (unless there is a fantastic edit before then).

I am having the same conversations with myself in my head re the Selfridges FAC. I mainly want it for the Lust in Paradise and the FDB fragrance looks interesting but I may not even like it. Think I am mentally preparing myself for the fact that there’s a good chance I won’t get hold of it.

Maybe The Cora will appear on Vinted for a good price once the calendars get released

I think I am making sure I have an alternative to Selfridges because let’s be honest I will try and get it as will end up with FOMO

My guess is as they’re instructing gift card holders to contact FTI Consulting that gift card holders are going to join the line of creditors and not be able to use them. I’m ordinary circumstances I don’t think refunds are offered on GCs.

Not surprising with MA in charge though 🙄 I am still bitter about him running Matches into the ground. Now HN is a write off as far as I’m concerned. I have fond memories of visiting the Knightsbridge store with my mum and grandma when I was small 🥲 My son and I also used to go to the rooftop cafe a lot when he was little.

I think there's a good chance I won't like the FDB. Patchouli is a note I don't love so a fragrance called that is highly likely to not be for me.

It always comes back to that dilemma where it ends up cheaper to buy the FAC yourself if you can and sell off what you don't want because buying the 3-4 you do want from Vinted or eBay will cost as much or more than the FAC (depending how they price it).

@user593 I agree - it’s the end of an era.

I used to love the in-store sales in HN back in the day but they have been rubbish in recent years. I got some incredible bag and shoe bargains in the distant past!

I also loved the top floor bar and cafe area!

If the shambolic mess they made of house of fraser is anything to go by, sad times ahead for HN. My local HOF is a shadow of its former self, it has a depressing vibe abd nothing really special in there just same tired old tat.

I know the HN fragrance calendar has already been produced for this year so hopefully that will release as intended, but will it be the last? It was my fave AC last year. I also enjoyed the fragrance gwp in spring.

Hof did a pathetic christmas beauty box last year good value but nothing high end or exciting.

Will they keep the brands separate or merge them over time, the latter is my guess

That statement shared by @user593 suggests not.I tend to spend credits as soon as I have earned them, for this reason. I love the idea of accumulating enough to get something expensive for free, but I'd get upset at losing it, so I use any credit as soon as I can.

I did have £5 credit with HN but at least it was only a fiver.

I have £350 of Advantage Card points so I really hope nothing happens to Boots 😂 it hadn’t really occurred to me it might but I guess we’re in very uncertain times.

I'm not sure from the statement whether it applies to loyalty points or just gift cards. Regardless I'm glad I spent my points in the nick of time before the website went down. The TF quad arrived yesterday and looks lovely.
