@Benny12 Brompton Immortals was my favourite last year. I'm really looking forward to trying this one.

I got a small 2ml sample of BTSO Golden Milk to test in advance and was disappointed. I don't get milkshake from it at all, which is sort of what I was hoping for - something creamy. I got a very fleeting note of sour milk and then it settled into just oud.

Maybe I need to give it a few goes but as ouds go I preferred the Initio Oud for Greatness which I tried a few weeks ago in Harvey Nicks. I think BTSO is probably going to be one of those 'marmite' scents in the calendar.

@ovaherethats interesting about the 2ml …i had a similar experience with the delina exclusif …I had a 2ml of it last year and didn’t like but it was completely different in-store in the larger bottle …

That's interesting. I sometimes think the plastic of tiny sample bottles and poor sprayer don't always do a scent justice. I'll hold off on a final judgment until I have the proper bottle.

@Benny12 Thanks for the review. Interesting as I like similar scents to you, from what you’ve described, but I really liked the BDK Impadia, and quite like the Initio Oud for Greatness as well. I lol’d at being punched in the face by Oud 🤣
It does not surprise me at all that the Memo was the horse smelling one, I’ve not yet found a Memo fragrance that I like.

@Benny12 thank you for the perfume reviews 🥰 I like that your sister described the bdk as being like toilet cleaner, that must be some posh toilet cleaner she uses 🤣

I really can't wait to smell the memo after people's feedback. I wonder if when the weather changes if people change their minds on these fragrances. I'm not sure why anyone would want to smell like caramel milkshake right now, but maybe in autumn, I can see people being more drawn to it.

I'm going to London in a few weeks and plan to go smell some of them. I hope I like most of them 🤞🏻

Thank you so much for such extensive review 🫶 I actually thought that BI is a repeat but just realised it will be an extrait version (still slightly nervous about patchouli in it). Sounds like a great line up overall! Far less masculine selection than last year.

Thank you for the review! I think I’m going to have to make a trip to Harrods myself to check these out before I decide what to keep. Although I would have thought all the scents get muddled when you try so many in one go!

Have you seen the Degusta ones? They are HUGE. I got one for my sister last year as a sort of gag gift, and she sent me videos of her opening it each day, it was delightfully bonkers and I genuinely looked forward to each video, there was everything from monty bojangles truffles to a microwave packet of chickpeas curry 🤣

I am on the hunt for another one that will be funny this year, as she likes to jokingly mock my BAC obsession.

Just had a look. Looks amazing but unfortunately they don’t ship to Ireland so that’s not an option.

Last year’s Xmas shopping threads were full of complaints about Degusta shipping late and / or arriving broken or short dated - good to hear more positive feedback on here!

I had a Degusta one, purchased when it was on offer, and it was great. I preferred it to the Chuckling Cheese one that I also purchased on offer.

I've just totted up the number of AC's that I purchased last year and it was a stupid amount - 8 x B&F ACs and 7 x food and wine ones (I got 2 of the Laithwaites mixed wine ones). I did split a lot of them up for gifting and donated quite a few items to a homeless shelter.

Newbies beware! I only joined the threads last year and got very caught up in the FOMO 😁

This year I am going to be very, very restrained on the BAC front, but maybe less so with the Laithwaites 🍷🥂

This thread is indeed very dangerous! I’ve already bought 2 high price BAC and got 4 more (cheaper!) ones in my Boots basket! Also purchased a mini holiday beauty bag from Boots in the meantime! In my defence, that one has 25% off!

Has anyone got any experience with the elemis calendars? I want to try the range as not sure what will suit me and seems a potentially good (but pricey) way to do it?

I would argue it’s a less pricey way to try a range. You get the whole regime but at a discounted price. I don’t know how much the Elemis ones cost but it’s almost always a saving of at least 40%, usually more. With the caveat of course there will be items you wouldn’t normally purchase. To cost it, work out what you’d like to try, how much it would cost and then compare the advent when it comes out. Always cost it at any discounted prices you can find, not full rrp.

If you like Elemis a good way to try it is QVC Christmas tsv , example below , I think this whole collection was something like £69, amazing value and gives you a full routine . They always have more than one fragrance option .

@Crosswurd - last year they did a 12 day one which has been my favourite advent calendar so far ( despite having JMalone the previous year).
Id only previously tried the night cream from another BAC but as I liked it and the pot in the AC was a good size decided it was worth a go. I’ve used and am still using everything especially loved the Rose cleansing balm and day cream.
Definitely planning a repeat buy this year 13 or 24 day depending if they do the 12 day again and contents of each.

Definitely think QVC is a good one to keep an eye on for Elemis. Just looked at last years 24 day calendar and there were a lot of small sizes. With the QVC deals, you get full (or at least decent) sizes.

@Crosswurd Another vote for the Elemis QVC TSV (today’s special value) offer. Usually comes out in October, they do have some other good offers but the main annual one is the best value I find. I usually buy 2 or 3 of them as I really like Elemis. I have repurchased the marine cream day & night, the eye gel and the cleansing balms, so the sets are great for me. The shower milk is lovely too.

Hi everyone, I joined the opening threads last year and decided to join earlier this time! I have been reading through the threads though and a huge thanks to the person who shared the link to Harrods FAC, as the app sent me a notification only when after sold out, if it wasn't for this thread I would have missed out
Last year I had the SNK, OK and HN BACs and the SNK and Bloomingdales FACs. This year, in addition to the Harrods FAC, I have decided to have 1 higher priced Beauty one and perhaps a cheaper BAC or FAC only if the contents are great.

Sharing some spoilers from Glossy box, i just got it through my email.
The Medik8 is a solid product but I have many similar hydrating serums from a recent style Korean edit... and the Patrick ta duo looks really orange... which i am not that interested in...

I'm a bit gutted that everyone seems to have steered away from the chest/drawer style advent this year - they're great for storage
