I've never actually bought an advent calendar for myself but this year will be different. I've bought the Harrods one on pre-order and quite fancy a fragrance one too. However I may end up buying more this year depending on the contents of course.

😂 @BakeOffRewatch😘 😘 .. I’m unfortunately feeling much more like spending this year so am a little worried, especially given it took me a nanosecond to press buy on the Harrods FC after resisting for the past few years… 😳

The Harrods FAC is one of those things you can't 'un-know'. I almost wish they'd stop doing them as they'll plague my thoughts every year regardless of any actual need. 😂 I'm impressed you resisted for a couple of years.

Ooooh f&m contents are good - not one of the all
time best, but significantly better than last year and I was up to 16 products I want and would use or regift the rest so…think this might be an easy decision this year!

I didn't know anything about BAC's this time last year, let alone the Harrods FAC. I've been obsessed with getting my hands on it since I first found out about it.

I went to the Rituals shop in McArthur Glen York and there weren’t any a/cs. Iam annoyed that it didn’t occur to me to ask. (Tbf, I asked at Clark’s Village Rituals once and got short shrift, so that’s probably why I didn’t!)

I also popped into Penhaligon’s and they didn’t have any a/cs either.

Ah that's good to know. I was thinking of having a trip there this weekend but I'll leave it. Not that I need any rituals stuff. I found a big gift set the other day and I have a ton of the stuff already. I probably could do my own rituals AC. I also don't need penhaligon either, I bought myself a penhaligon fragrance set (with 5 minis in) and I've only touched it maybe twice.

Just managed to have a really good look through F&M, Liberty and Harrods contents. Thankfully absolutely none of them grab me.

JL Home fragrance (was superb in 2024 and represented excellent value, last year's was crap and expensive - Fingers crossed for a good 'un this year.

I’ve bought F&M on pre order. I think I’ll use everything in it and it’s the one I had in mind anyway. I very much doubt I’ll be one and done 😂. I have only enough skincare to last me til advent season so there is definitely an incentive to stock up a bit on that. I’ve always fancied the MAC advent calendar so perhaps this is the year I go for one of those 🤔
Whatever happens though I am throughly enjoying all the reveals and reading all your thoughts on the merits or not of each calendar, so many thanks to @JoRaRaRa and @OvaHere for the threads .

I got really carried away last year and I think I had seven in total, including the 12 day calendars. I don’t think I was the only one to have got thst many 🤭

New to beauty advent calendars, don’t use many products to be honest. Now deep into looking at them and can’t decide which one to go for out of the Fortnum and Mason one or the John Lewis one. AI is telling me the JL one is better for a 45 year old -

I love the Ginger Biscuit scent so a candle sounds lovely.

One of my favourite candles ever is Biscuit by Diptyque (which smells of ginger biscuits) so I think I am definitely going to need this!

Jo Malone tangerine and honey sounds wonderful! I can’t consider JM again though as Ive had it twice before and Ive got so much left. 😬

I am a 55 year old woman and went for JL without any hesitation. Partly because of the reasons AI has listed. The other really had no draw at all for me (apart from being pretty)

Less make up, more beauty brands I know and love (for mature skin) won hands down for me.

Im ahem, looking at 50 here and I did like JL esp if it was £25-£50 less but tbh as a middle aged beauty junkie I’ve already got my HA/peptide/ret stuff from medik8 etc nailed so f&m edges it for me as although I do try new things I do love a bath oil and candle etc in winter…and face oils.

my middle aged skin loves any kind of oil.

Oh don’t forget to check for cashback too! Think I got 8 pc on the f&m ac. Well….thus has cheered the looming end of Summer up nicely!
