So Really Ree has confirmed on her advent calendar channel that the Harrods fragrance calendar will be back online. It's just not clear when that will be.

I wish we could get more details on Selfridges FAC. I want to know when it goes on sale and how much it will be.

Harvey Nichols Dundrum/Dublin are closing down

I know, me too! I'm getting quite impatient not knowing the details 😐

I just buy what I like the look of and I open them during December as advents are meant to be. Usually around three BAC's and some others for me and DD to enjoy. I don't sell or rip them open them when I get them. That totally defeats the point for me (personally)

I usually open them when I get them. I only really get FAC now. Harrods FAC is my birthday gift to myself. I replenish my skincare stash from edits usually. I do sometimes get M&S to use as a proper advent as price per item is so good and it boosts my stash. The CB stockings were such a bargain last year too.

Waiting impatiently for news of the Flannels frag crackers/box.

I’m ruling Elle out, Cult Beauty for the extra £60 ( plus £20 voucher if order on release) is much better value for me I think. I know there are more reveals for cult but at the moment it’s between that and Harrods for me

Not sure if this has already been commented on, but it looks like the advent calendar countdown has disappeared from the spacenk app.

Same, I think I've ruled out Spacenk, Elle, Selfridge's, Next, John Lewis. I think I'm going to also rule out liberty, even though I do have the credit and the vouchers, I'll see if it's still around later in the year. It's also between Harrods and cult beauty for me, Harrods overall excites me more, mainly because of the skincare but I can get the CB one for £180, so £90 cheaper than Harrods and I do like most of the skincare revealed so far, maybe not the anua though 😕 but we still have more reveals to come.

I wonder if the Harvey nicks take over will delay the advent calendar launches 😔 I assume they've already got everything in place for them and will likely still go ahead.

Yes, its around £80 more but still good value

Oh that's disappointing about the Elle. That was going to be my bargain buy but for that price I'd rather go for CB or Sephora.

This evenings plan (subject to rapid change so don't hold me to it) is to get CB and also try to get Selfridges FAC. If I fail to get the FAC I might buy Vogue as a consolation. Of course there's a non zero chance I may end up with all three. 😂

I usually buy 2 BACs, I don't open them during advent, usually have a chocolate one for that, then open one door a week for the next year, usually on a Friday, then try to use or start things over the weekend..Anything I really don't want goes to the hygiene bank, can't be bothered with reselling. Never really bother with black Friday, though

My thoughts, in no particular order ...

I think I'm starting to just feel put off whenever I see CT make up or PK anything. I've never really felt that CT was that great, and seeing it sprayed over every BAC makes it feel even less desirable.

I was unexpectedly interested in the Next bac as a little add-on, especially as I fancy trying an LED wand. But I did a quick google to check the reviews and saw that the '£95' wand is actually about £45/£50 everywhere else. So that just irritated me and made me feel like I was getting ripped off before I'd even bought it

The make up shades in the CB one are really unappealing. I like trying new make up and these aren't attractive to me. So no to that.

Quite like Elle.

Vogue, definite no. The jewellery and socks are off-putting. It feels like somewhere to dump things that would otherwise be 70% in the Jan sales.

I'm probably going to end up with the Liberty one as I have the credit to use up and just don't feel massively persuaded or excited by anything else. I really want to see fragrance and skincare more than anything in a BAC. I'm disinterested in hair stuff as my hair is too needy and I find it a bit boring. I'm definitely not averse to a nice candle.

I think I'm feeling a teensy bit jaded with this year's offerings, but still enjoying the journey

September 1st is also the first day of Liberty release for subscribers, I think it’s going to be a busy release day!

I’ve totted up that the two I’ve bought and the three I’m waiting for are £1699 , that’s daft to spend on advent calendars isn’t it …. isn’t it 😪
