Here's hoping for lots more spoilers, bargains, discount codes, and maybe a little self-control (although judging by threads 1 and 2, that seems unlikely! 😄)

As long as you afford it and it brings you joy or happiness that’s all that counts, there is no judgement here. I budget around £1500 for advents if that makes you feel better.

Personally, I don't feel bad buying anything because my money is not stolen or from any other criminal activity.

That's how low my bar is! I'm harming no-one and will buy what I please 😊

Haha all money is not from ill gotten gains . I’m liking your attitude ladies . This is my first year of advents but when you start looking the more you see the more you want 😁

I am not enough of an expert to do this, I want to try pretty much everything because it’s all quite new for me. Thinking back last year I got the Bioeffect egf serum in an edit and I was not at all excited to use it because it just looked meh, used it and was not at all blown away as it seemed quite nothingy but then a week or so later I looked in the mirror and thought bloody hell my skin looks amazing. Now I hunt it down on offer. I’d be too worried about not discovering something else brilliant if I sold stuff on 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyway to answer the question about what I do with multiple advents, I am determined not to have them this year but last year I had my main one on display with everyone else’s advents, my boots one in my wardrobe and my Elle one hidden from dh 🤣 I think he knew but know better than to ask 😳

There were some bits I knew I wouldn’t use in the boots and Elle, but fortunately I have an adult daughter who was able to make use of them.

It’s funny how you’re all hating on the socks in vogue, I read the contents and thought ooh maybe I could put cashmere socks in one of my empty drawers 🤣

I think no budget as long as we can afford it. I’ve no budget for beauty - it’s my main hobby 😊

Fenwick's are doing an AC this year. It will be available to My Fenwick Loyalty members online and in store from 20th August and to everyone from 25th August. It will be £250 and worth over £1,000.

I was hoping to get just one BAC and one FAC this year. Have ordered Harrods FAC and DH has ordered me the BAC for my October birthday. That should be it, right, but now I am feeling I have to try to go for the Selfridges FAC because it looks so good and the Jo Malone looks really lovely so if it is available in Duty Free again, then it would make sense to ask DH to grab it for my Christmas present with his staff discount, would it not? So already I am getting rather carried away. 😵‍💫 I am just glad none of the other beauty calendars are calling me…yet!

Last year I had Liberty, (first time I had spent anywhere near that much for an a/c), and the Rituals wreath, that I picked up much cheaper from Sephora due to what I think was a brief pricing glitch.

DH filled up an old Clarins 12 day calendar for me, (but he made some extremely weird purchases, so I don’t think I will ask him to do that this year).

All three were stuffed behind the door in the back room until December 1st, when they came out with the Xmas decorations.

I also ended up with much-reduced a/cs from Twinings and Chuckling Cheese, courtesy of information from the lovely ladies on the Xmas bargains thread.

This year I have my DIY refilled Liberty hidden in the back room, and my work in progress DIY fragrance is in my old 12 day Clarins box. (I like that box far more than I did the actual contents!)

I have no budget for advents. Be warned if you are a suckered for bargains and love beauty you will spend a lot on this thread, well I did. Last year first year. Although ive always spent a lot on beauty. 5 advents when it was covid. I didnt fully count last year but over 10, easy.

Selling stuff is always an option but takes time and effort. 🤣
This year im going to be more sensible and the reveals are helping as I have product fatigue and have tried so much over the years as well. I was a loyal qvc customer for many years.
There are some good edits released as well that imo are better than the advents.
I also joined a xmas bargain link last year that im on again which is lethal but fun. Will reign it in this year. I do buy more than one of stuff which is a habit im trying to break. Not advents but things heavily reduced that aren't as much of a bargain when you buy 3. 🤣

Re: Unwanted products

In previous years I have left them in the original drawers and then just been very sad on day whatever 😹 Thanks to people on here, last year I emptied DoDs in advance and put the stuff on eBay, replacing it with other things from edits, etc.

Due to almost being at 30 items sold, I won’t be selling anything else until January 2027, so don’t expect to get much if anything back via eBay. I certainly don’t buy thinking ahead that I can sell x, y and z, because I never manage to get more than a few quid for anything!

Despite my loathing for Liberty’s offering this year, I can see me getting it eventually just to use up my credit. Otherwise I may roll it over to Xmas 27 or see if anything appeals in the winter sales.

Of the reveals so far, the only a/c I quite like, (apart from some DoDs), is HBAC.

If I don’t crack and get Liberty, (or something like GB, which was very impressive last year), I may just stick with my DIYs.

I do like the Korean ones, though - so may look in that direction instead.

I was looking at that glittery bottle. It looks like a Diptyque body oil bottle (although the lid is rather tall). My wishful thinking is it a new glittery Diptyque body oil that’s not been launched yet. If Fenwicks can make that happen then I would buy the AC just for that!

That was exactly my thought. I reckon its a new seasonal diptique shimmer oil.

Loving the new threads. Really enjoyed being here last year. I had a great time buying up from other calendars on Vinted and swapping out days of doom on mine. Id never thought of doing that before and ended up with an amazing calendar.

Independent have reported this years GlossyBox will be £90 which seems amazing for 22 full sized products. I like the reveals so far so will be interesting to see what else is in there. From what I know so far I think Ill be choosing from Glossybox, Elle and Sephora. I think ill also get the JL FAC and try and pick up the Initio from the Selfridges FAC on Vinted.

What’s the one product you are most excited about from all the beauty advents so far? I’ve made a list of the products I have in the 2 I’ve ordered so far, categorised into skincare, body, fragrance and make up. Lots of new skin products and probably most intrigued by the copper peptide cream - don’t know why!
