I had told myself I didn’t need a FAC this year but do I want to miss out??
I will ask my Selfridges personal shopper if he knows if they will ship to my location and that will make my decision!

The Vogue one is just so inflated on the price. It doesnt have the value they are advertising it as. Some off the stuff is already on sale like the socks and the nothing special fragrance.

The bogstandard stuff like a Neom candle or a CT wand which are everywhere, dont feel that luxe either.

If you charge so much for a calender one would expect a Diptique or Trudon candle, a niche perfume, some more full sizes and a Dr Vranjes room spray or something.

This is definately a big meh. But tbh I find everything incredibly underwelming so far.

Beauty Detective has the contents up now and it says 30ml but either way if it’s priced around the same as Harrods that’s good value for me!

I've had the Selfridges app since I first found out about the FAC as I had a feeling they'd go all out, what with it being their first. I need to go and look at their BAC as I'm still deliberating over Harrods but will see what others have to offer first. Cult are out for me, I haven't been excited by much from them so far.

Selfridges FAC looks great , Beauty not so much. Selfridges is another with not great IT . I know they crashed over the Jellycats sale and the first perfume edit they did also caused the systems to crash as @MrsBnow12 pointed out and they have that annoying drip feed of advents which means that you can miss out multiple times instead of just once 😂
Does anyone know if Selfridges are good at limiting items bought per customer?. I know resellers will get round it but at least it would give us mere consumers a fighting chance
Anyway well done Selfridges let’s see what Harvey Nichols, Boots and , SpaceNk have to offer.

I was thinking the same. The Selfridges one looks really good and I think I might have gone for it over the Harrods one had I known how good it was going to be

I'm a bit torn having looked at Selfridges BAC, I'm being swayed by Lola At Coatcheck being in there as I really like that. Also, I'm one of the few people who hasn't tried the AB rich cream whereas I do already have their eye cream, as seen in Harrods, from Liberty last year...although I do love it. Am I about to start my first BAC spreadsheet? 😂

No FACs for me, as i already have more than enough perfume 😂and I'm really fussy about it, they tend to change a LOT on my skin 😐 but agree, the Selfridges ones looks really good!

The BAC I'm glad to see the spoilers for it now - but it's ruled it out for me. I'll try to pick up a few pieces on Vinted, but most of what's in there that I like, I already have or tried. (I do love the AB rich cream! But have plenty from FtF edits 😁)

Lumene - good to see too. I'll probably grab it again if there's a good offer, as i do like and would use most of the contents. But not hunting it down at full price.

Not advent calendar related, but a small yippee for me! I already had the Selfridges app, but hadn't opened it in a while - i looked last night to see what was on there about ACs, then idly checked my wishlist, to see a necklace I've lusted after for months was down to half price!! Bought 😎

I'd been rechecking other stockists, but it never got below 15% off, and I'd forgotten Selfridges sold it.

Relooking at the selfridges BAC there appears to be lots of products around the £15/20 mark and very few over £50. I’ve never tried Rodial bee venom although I do have a few samples of it to try which seems to be their big item. I love AB although the rich cream I can only use in the depths of winter because it’s too heavy for me and the BS serum is ok but not wow. The discotheque perfume I think I have a sample of somewhere but not tried it yet.
I think this is the reason of why I am initially put off because usually I select an advent because the wow products that I love or want to try usually cover the price of the advent and then the rest is free. However, this advent has almost 40 products in so there must be a lot of double drawers so it’s an interesting approach which sadly doesn’t appeal to me because I want to be wowed. The FBC is in a different league.

Selfridges FAC is 😍. I will definitely try to get this one (although echo thoughts on it being an uphill task). Glad I have Harrods in the bag (allegedly) as it will soften the blow if I don’t succeed. Will hang fire on Jo Malone to see if I can get this one, and may do what a PP highlighted and just buy the JM fragrance sets I want as that is my main interest in the brand.

Selfridges have put a massive spanner in the works this year. I love it! They are disrupting the Harrods monopoly. I wonder if people will cancel Harrods now 🤔

Are you able to cancel on the app? or did you have to call them? I’ve tried to cancel it on the app but couldn’t for some reason.
Wouldn’t it be great if Liberty would bring back their FAC 🤞

I like the Selfridges FAC but I really want to see what's on SNK & HN as there are a few in Selfridges that I won't wear. I still downloaded the app though 🤭

BD has listed the FDB fragrance as full sized and worth £320! I thought it looked more like a 30ml or maybe 50ml but will be impressive if it is full sized!

Harrods ego is going to be dented maybe they will up their game next year.

I’m not sure about Selfridges BAC until I see the full list of contents, but to me this looks like a more interesting selection of products than Harrods. I do like Rodial products so would be interested in trying that serum.

Agreed, I think the FDB looks 30ml, 50 at most. It looks similar size to the rude oud elixir from the scent tote.

I won't be cancelling my Harrods FAC, even if I'm successful with the Selfridge's one. I fought for that baby 🤣

Also, like Harrods, I think there's going to be issues with actually getting it, from ordering it, potentially not enough stock for the sales and then cancellations and my last parcel from selfridge's went missing. I'd rather have both in my hands then none of them.

I definitely won’t be cancelling Harrods at the moment as there is a good chance I won’t get the Selfridges one, and then, like you say, you don’t know that there won’t be delivery issues even if you are successful in ordering it. We had a bit of an idea as to when Harrods would release their calendar because of the pattern previous years, but less certain when this one might become available. 🤔
