That I can pull off at 38!

You would see the point if you lived somewhere with strong winds, but also strong sun. I have tried the visors and they can be good for driving, but I mostly walk in the mornings and am that pale that in outside sun my scalp can burn through my hair!

So the uncool cap it is. I suppose the ideal would be a legionnaire's style cap, but we wouldn't be getting any cooler there :)

I appreciate a baseball cap for keeping sun out of eyes but don’t think they ever look ‘good’ or flattering on anyone.

However for true anti-cool and ++practical value you want a legionnaire hat

Muji do a nice shaped cap in a lightweight fabric. Just plain colours, no branding.

That is why all my hats have chin cords and my favourite ones can also snap up at the sides.

If it was too windy even for that, I'd go for the legionnaire option. Skin cancer doesn't care about how windy your locale is.

They either suit your face or they don't. With me, they don't. But I still wear one from colourful standard sometimes. Because sometimes you need a hat, and the rest of what you're wearing is pretty sport-casual so you can't just put a straw bonnet with it.

The yankees caps are a good cool standard, think 90s rich aesthetic with an oversized tshirt / denim shorts / good tan.
I have a Celine baseball cap which is quite a good basic, beige, it has a C embroidered on the front so not super flashy big logo etc. I didn’t like the sequin one upthread- looks too fancy dress; I like a baseball cap to be sort of inconspicuous looking.

I think even just a plain baseball cap can look good; what matters is the rest to be honest! Decent sunglasses, good bone structure, healthy tan.
I often think baseball caps with long hair worn down or with really short bobs look great.

If somebody wants to bang out a grand on a baseball cap with a big H on the front and doesn't instantly think of Rimmer from Red Dwarf, I guess that's great for them.

Long hair, down and covering your ears. Apparently really uncool to put your hair behind your ears! My 18 yo dd took one look at my cap last year and insisted on having one in black for herself.

It's great that you can share your opinion but you don't have to be so awful. Truly unpleasant behaviour.

I think you need to try them on… some have small crowns and really long peaks which look really odd on me. ( but presumably will suit other people). I much prefer a trucker style. I sadly left my favourite cap on a flight and have yet not found a replacement

Do you have any interest in baseball or did you just like the cap?

Our local British heart foundation does some cheap and cheerful ones in slightly faded color's with a nice adjustable back. (not poppers like a buckle). The whole family have them for outdoor sports. Practical cheap and support charity. That makes them cool, not sure if they are stylish though.

Cool. I just like the cap really. Great shape. Great logo. And a little reminder of when dh and I visited New York many moons ago. These caps are very popular over here.

The only baseball caps I like are Holland Cooper ones.

If you’re already a hat person then they work. I have and wear all sorts of different hat styles, including plain black baseball caps. I wear them quite often, great for when you can’t be bothered to sort your hair out to go to the shop or I’m chasing after my toddler in the park. If you start trying too hard to style them it will look weird.

Everyone has the NY one, even people who have never been near America. I think accepting baseball caps are simply an 80s throwback and are meant to be worn to keep off the sun. Just a plain one without a giant logo on it that puts you into a box would be my go to.
