The end of summer lies ahead, but we're hoping for more bling!

Apologies if its already been shared, but I really like this dress on Amalia from the other week. I like the colour and the style. I think she looks great (hate the shoes 😆)

I'm not sure about the style, is it a wrap dress? But the colour is lovely on her, as is Max's. Although I'm not sure about the skirt layering.

Unfortunately I don't like this dress on Sofia of Spain. The shape does nothing for her. A rare fail as normally the spanish ladies have great style.

Yes, the wrap thing around the middle is a bit strange, and makes the proportions look odd. I like the colour and fit of Leti's dress, although I'm not keen on lace for daytime.

Ooh no, Max. She looks like Mrs Overall from Acorn Antiques 🤪

I think daytime lace is ok for Spanish ladies. I have no idea why..possibly some national costumes book I had about 50 years ago.

I have no idea, it's just a personal opinion!

Did anyone else realise that July is rubies month? A couple of ruby tiaras here. Amalia's necklace is a beauty, I didn't spot the rubies at first!
The other pieces on Leti and Stephanie we saw on the last thread.

Is that pretty much it now for Royal summer fashion? It seems to have gone so quickly! Although they do pack a lot in over a short time.

Were those rubies Catherine wore on Saturday with the red dress?

I felt sorry for George in that jacket yesterday in the heat.

The Royal Box dress codes are rather harsh during a heatwave but I see they relaxed the "no hats" rule.

I wonder if William and George have their jackets made from that lightweight (linen?) fabric that is used for suits in very hot countries?

I remember reading about it in an article about, of all things, Death in Paradise - the BBC bought ordinary suits for season 1 and Ben Miller almost collapsed with heatstroke filming in 30C. But because of his character they needed to keep the suits - so the next season they sourced some from a tailor who makes them for international customers or business trip to very hot countries.

IMHO George looked a bit bleary so I wondered if they had stayed up for the England match!

Maireas · 14/07/2026 17:36

Also, there is an air conditioned suite at Wimbledon and apparently William and George made good use of it!

I was surprised William didn't put on one of those Wimbledon Panama hats

He's about 6' 2", maybe it would have annoyed someone behind him?

Hello everybody especially @Maireas
I wonder if anybody would mind/feel put out if I started a royal jewellry thread on the Royal board?
Pictures of mainly older jewellry of the House of Windsor with a bit of Duchess of Windsor, European Tiaras and Romanov Jewellery thrown in.
I really do not want to tread on anyone’s toes -I have a long running interest family say obsession with the RF jewels and have done quite a lot of research and book buying to sate my interest obsession.
My poor DD is sick of listening to me talk about pieces so I thought maybe a thread just about jewellry might be nice.
Please, if you hve an issue just DM me. I don’t want to get anybody’s back up when you hve all been posting such beautiful threads on clothes/acessories/jewels of current royals.
Thanks ladies!
.

Hi Daisy! Welcome to the thread!
As you can tell, a lot of us have an interest in royal jewellery (we love a tiara) and some of our gang are very knowledgeable both of the history and of the jewels themselves. A few posts ago we were having a look at some rubies.
That sounds like a great thread and I'm sure nobody would be at all put out, and probably join in.
Great idea and I look forward to it! ☺️

Daisy welcome. I'd be really interested in that thread so please post a link. I just bought a book about QEIIs jewels because I liked it so much when I took it from the library.

I love the history as well as the sparkles!
