I agree, it’s fine. She’s gone for a different hairstyle too. And interesting choice of necklace - it was a wedding gift from Queen Mary to Elizabeth Bowes Lyon (later the Queen Mother) and is not often pulled from the vaults!

Here’s a photo of it (from the days when royal wedding gifts were displayed for the press to view!). And I misremembered - it was from Queen Alexandra, not Queen Mary. You can see it on the label.

The dress is very similar to what she's worn to recent state dinners. When she finds something she likes, she really sticks with it. But I'd prefer a bit more glitz and glamour for a film premiere and Jenny Packham isn't short of that!

Yes, I like that it's a different colour, and I like the shade of purple. She's mixed things up with the necklace and a slightly different hairstyle.

The necklace quietly speaks volumes about the continuity of the monarchy given all the recent press around Harry, Meghan and Charles Spencer.

It was given as a wedding gift by a queen to a future queen 100 years ago (although when the Queen Mother married she was not expected to become Queen). And then lent by another queen - QEII- to the now Queen Camilla before now being worn publicly for only the second time in 100 years by a future queen. Plus it’s regal purple and the largest gem is a heart.

It looks nice on Camilla, with that neckline. It looks as if the length is variable.

I love Kate's dress, but I love purple and a floaty sleeve.

It’s another one of those dresses which looks absolutely amazing in motion. I love the back of it, front not so much, she really seems to be going for modesty cover.

William looks like an absolute twonk in that short, double breasted velvet jacket. Ghastly.
