The end of summer lies ahead, but we're hoping for more bling!

I really like that dress on Sophie

Anne has worn something from 1969 recently - and it looked lovely when she wore it first aged 18 and now 57 years later (I don't always like her rewears but love this one)

57 Years Later, Princess Anne Rewears a Coat She First Wore at 18

Evidence that the best pieces only get better with time.

That's a love coat.
Yes, Sophie's dress definitely has kaftan vibes, although a narrower silhouette through the body.

My very glamorous friend wears kaftans in the summer. They do look cool. I've never had one.

To late to edit; I meant lovely coat!

I'd like a book all about Anne's rewears

Love the vibe of Countess Marie's wedding & everyone looks so happy. The flowers are gorgeous around the church entrance & her bouquet is pretty, wedding dress too.

Do like what Sophie's wearing & does look nice & cool

I do like this moonstone & diamond brooch that Camilla has - so can I have it @Maireas 😂

It's yours, Tracy! It's very pretty. Yes, I liked the Austrian wedding, too. It looked like a lovely day.

Marie’s bouquet was unusual being all blue.
I like her dress.

Camilla looking good in a Fiona Clare shirtdress. A trusty style for Cams, but I think the pattern is different and gives it a slightly more modern look.

I agree and I think her hair is looking particularly good in those photos. I believe that Charles pulled a pint during their visit and quipped that it was “a good day for drowning one’s sorrows” (after the England defeat for anyone not knowing the context) 😂

Maireas · 17/07/2026 09:32

I think Camilla has found a style and silhouette which suits her for engagements, and she's going with variants on that, which is probably a good idea. I like the fabric design of the latest Fiona Clare dress.
I agree with you about her hair, @smilesy

There is a new photo out for Camilla’s birthday. I think we have seen that dress before?

I think so, @smilesy- great colour. No doubt someone will be able to identify the brooch!

One thing I noticed when I went to the exhibition of HMTLQs clothes was how similar the basic dress designs were. As pp say Camilla has a definite day dress style which appears in a multitude of colours, fabrics with embellishments to make them different.

RomainingCalm · 17/07/2026 13:53

Here you go @smilesy - it's Fiona Clare again and looks as if it was worn for the state visit by the Emperor and Empress of Japan in 2024.

The butterfly brooch was presented to QEII in 1977.

Very sensible of Camilla to go for tried and trusted. It's a working uniform after all.

Thanks, @Lunde, great article! That evening coat was first worn in 1969. That's even before decimalisation.
Good going.
The blue fur lined coat has certainly had a lot of wear.

I too thought Camilla’s hair was lovely in the photo @TracyBeakerSoYeahposted.
I prefer that photo to the one issued to celebrate her birthday. There is too little contrast between her hair and face in it iykwim. It might be that the bkue is a tad too strong a colour blue on her.

By royal standards, maybe, but normal people rewear loved clothes a bazillion more times (yes, black linen mermaid skirt dress, looking at YOU!). I do hope some of them get donated to charity, even by Anne!

Well, I think we're talking about royal standards, aren't we? Of course ordinary people re wear clothes a lot

I've had coats for decades. Keep them in the huge wardrobe in the second bedroom. They serve different functions depending on weather and location.

Looking at the photo from today, I don’t think the lighting helps. She looks a bit sort of “uplit” iyswim. There is an obvious pool of light across her torso. It sort of washes her out and gives her a little bit of an odd expression. The dress looks fine in the other photo

I've just seen that the exhibition of the late Queen's clothes has proved so popular that it's been extended to April. Or maybe that happened a while ago, I don't know. But it's definitely worth seeing!
