Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I’ve been watching you tube vids and have made my decisions . This year I’m going for Jo Loves and Diptique. I love the packaging of the liberty but I have really sensitive skin and can’t wear a lot of products so it seems a bit risky .

I might join you with the Jo loves this year. I’ve thought about a diptique for years but a few years ago they had an outlet store in Bicester where they had the advent calendars heavily discounted so in my weird mind I now can’t buy it unless I see another one discounted because I’m still kicking myself for not buying it at the time. Anyone know where there is a diptique discount store?

I would love Diptyque as well. I didn’t consider it seriously last year as I already had little bottles of several of the fragrances that were included but I might be tempted this year. I was looking through my stash earlier and I don’t think I can get a non perfume calendar this year as Ive still got so much left. It seems to take me ages to get through face products. 😆

This is exactly what I came here to say.
I only joined BD to save for the AC because I missed out last year and thought this was a good way to do it.

I think the problem I'm realising is in the last year I've become content with low-mid range and i don't get why certain things are so expensive in Liberty.

But when I joined BD I thought I'd like to treat myself to a luxury calender when actually is probably be happier with JL or M&S!

So what is worth buying with BD credit?

BD credit - kits, fabric, specific perfume in sales or GWP times, collabs, the sales can be very good in person ( they had a couple of wool capes this time), scarves.

but mainly kits for me.

The beauty kits are my thing too. They often have a GWP august so if it was me I would wait until then and buy a kit or two with the BD credit and get a free GWp. However, I’m a sucker for a GWP.

So what is worth buying with BD credit?

Anything you’ve particularly enjoyed in the boxes? I’m not getting the calendar this year because it just doesn’t fire my rockets so I’m buying my favourite eye wateringly expensive scent. My favourite BD money buy was a huge clear acrylic bangle in the sale.

Boots calendars were very reasonable last year, for the more basic ranges. I particularly enjoyed the premium one, I used a lot of it.

I’m wondering about getting a boots one.

Hi everyone, so exciting! I think its going to be perfume AC again for me this year. There are bound to be Christmas CB kits and edits so I can stock up on anything else then. I'm away at the moment and my sparkly LA lip gloss and various glittery palettes are proving useful ☺️

For anyone that got the Harrods fragrance calendar in the past, do they tend to release the contents before it goes on sale or is it just a mad scramble to blind buy it? Not that it matters too much as I want to try for it regardless.

@ClutteredPalace they tend to release the contents a few weeks before so we should find out the contents in the next couple of weeks I would have thought
Very exciting I hope they are good. I think last year was more masculine/unisex so I am hoping it is more feminine this year , although I am slightly worried what the price will be
it is always slightly more expensive each year but given the recent tote bag release was £150 which had 7 perfumes (two were only 5ml though) I reckon it could be £250+ (it was £215 last year, £185 in 2024 and £175 in 2023) although hoping I am wrong and it is still £215 ball park which would be amazing
Still a bargain though if you like the fragrances

@ClutteredPalace I was thinking we did see the contents first last year but wasn't 100% sure so waited for someone else to reply!

Honestly, I would buy it regardless as you would make your money back selling the whole thing or individual items if you realised some of the perfumes aren't for you. Its such good value you only really need to like 2 or 3 to make a good saving although as @Puravida23 says, the prices have been increasing.

@ClutteredPalace Last year they revealed some of the fragrances a week before, then a few more a couple of days before pre-sale but the full reveal was when they went on pre-sale. You need to kinda decide if you want it from the spoilers. I don't think we'll have time to properly mull it over, it'll be a grab and go 🤣

@JoRaRaRa I think I'm just going to commit to it. In fairness there are very few fragrances I don't like and it's such a bargain. This could all be moot anyway if I miss out 😅

I finish work for the summer (I work in a term time pre-school) on the 21st July, so I will be spending a lot of time checking here and on the Harrods app from then on! I really want to get the fragrance calendar again, much as I don’t need it!

I have been telling myself I don’t need Harrods fragrance this year and now hearing all the chatter I don’t want to miss out!
I still have Brompton Immortals that I wanted to try rather than opening the box when I was in London last month but didn’t get a chance.

I did share last year’s Harrods fragrance calendar with DH. He ended up with Thameen, Brompton Immortals and Nishane and I had the rest. I sold the Jo Malone scent and the Rude Oud so I didn’t keep that much for myself, did I? I think I might have enough space on my dressing table for a few more fragrances 😁
