Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

I am really hoping that the Harrods calendar isn’t going to be equally disappointing 😣

Me too, last year I was quick to dismiss it but I actually really enjoyed the little jars of luxury 🥰

I was exactly the same. I was so looking forward to the release after the amazing 2024 calendar and was initially really disappointed with the small sizes. I think it was after watching a video of Really Ree unboxing it that I decided it might be for me after all. 😃 I ended up really enjoying it.

HollyGolightly4 · 04/07/2026 21:22

I would love to see a return to form of vogue! 2023 was my favourite, it was such a treat. The last two years have been disappointing!

Kitchendilemas · 04/07/2026 21:34

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 16:18

I went to Liberty today to spray as many of the 2026 a/c perfumes as I could. I had not realised it was Pride today so half the roads were blocked and it took me ages to get from Charing Cross to Liberty and back again as I had to keep detouring.

Anyway - the upshot is that I heartily dislike all of the ones I tried on today. I thought some might smell better after a while but I am on the train home and the various patches on my arms all smell awful 😿

Edited

It’s the reason I’m not buying the Calendar. Despite having the full amount in vouchers. Last year they put 5/6 perfumes in and they were horrible.

Ha! Same! I also watched really Ree's vid and that changed my mind 🤣

That will always be the one that got away for me. I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much at the time- bought twice as much instead though! I had Vogue last year and it was nice but definitely underwhelming.

Fingers crossed for an amazing year in 2026 then!

I'll be putting more thought and effort into my AC purchases this year. I think I will count the products and total value based on these categories:

New to me - excited to try
New to me - ambivalent
New to me - don't want
Tried before - excited for another
Tried before - ambivalent
Tried before - don't want

I think if I had done this last year I would have bought Sephora as I picked up several items on Vinted that probably cost half the AC anyway.

Exception is Harrods Fragrance, I'll be joining the frontlines of that battle no matter what!

Edit* for my own benefit as I think this through...'Tried before - don't want' could be because I didn't like it or maybe I like it but still have the item and don't want another.

MiaN · Yesterday 07:08

I haven't been disappointed by SpaceNK advent, and plan to buy it again
this year. i was happy with the perfume advent too.

Outside that, I really want to be very selective this year, I don't want to buy too much or things that aren't well though off. I don't need every perfume advent out there.

I am very disappointed of Liberty and I have beauty insider credit build up. How likely is that they will have good perfume edit soon - considering they have not sold out the current? I want to use up my credit and cancel

MiaN · Yesterday 07:11

Re perfume advents Harrods perfume is big on strong, heavy scents - intense oud, the high on molecules PDM, overly sweet and I am not expecting it will appeal - but I will check. Harvey Nicks - maybe. I need to see. I am not expecting to be interested in the look fantastic, perfume shop, fragrance store this year but lets see. I am not in the same fragrance journey I was few years ago, I do know myself better and I don't want to have 30 perfumes to try

Keffert · Yesterday 07:45

TreesinthePark · 04/07/2026 20:33

I'm wondering now if I've convinced myself to like the Liberty AC because I have so much credit/vouchers and I've not been keen on the edits. (Even rejoined BD this month for discount on AC!)

I need to have another look at it because right now I still need £80 cash towards it that might be better used on a different AC. I first got Liberty in 2022, skipped it in 2023 and 2024 and then got it again in 2025.

Honestly, I love this thread because there's not a single soul in my life I can deliberate this with! ☺️

I have always coveted the liberty but I think it’s mainly because it’s a jump up price point wise to what I would usually spend so it automatically feels luxurious. Also the box is always so beautiful!

hattie43 · Yesterday 07:50

JLoves for me .

Isabelle70 · Yesterday 07:59

Hello all, how can it be that time of year again?
I had Harrods beauty and fragrance last year. I don’t need to get the fragrance again as a lot of them were too heavy for me, sold on what I didn’t like and did cover the cost of the calendar.
Maybe Liberty again as not had it for a year or so. Or maybe Selfridges as they have given me a £20 voucher.
Really I don’t need any as I still have a huge stash of products to use. I started the Valmont votre visage last night, not as slippy as I expected and maybe I will look 20 this morning 🤣

hattie43 · Yesterday 08:25

Has anyone had the Penhaligons Calendar , there are so many I’d love to try . Libertys , Harrods , Diptique, Jo Malone . I’m definitely getting Jo Loves but I’d love to try a beauty / skincare option aswell although I gravitate to scent , hmmm

Addictedtobeauty · Yesterday 08:30

I had a Penhaligons once- bought it from Bicester Village so was the previous years. Stunning presentation but I wasn’t blown away by the contents- quite samey. But then I’m not the biggest fan of their scents- they’re pleasant but not wow for me. I also remember a fair smattering of leaning male which I didn’t really want.

Thankyou . I do love some of their fragrances but others are not to my taste at all . It sounds risky then as they aren’t scents you could just ‘ tolerate ‘ .

Peachbubble · Yesterday 08:51

Hmm, this year I think I'll stick with Style Korean (loved last year's), but undecided about others, though Liberty is a no from me. I had way too many last advent 😁SK, HN fragrance, Boots, ASOS and Holland & Barrett. Also picked up Tatcha and Lumene for peanuts on Vinted - the Tatcha was gorgeous!
Not too interested in fragrance calendars or ones with a lot of make-up in this year. Looking out for own-brand advents and skincare I think.

Beautyfox · Yesterday 08:54

@hattie43 i agree with @Addictedtobeauty . The presentation was lovely, mine was a giant perfume bottle. The contents were a little underwhelming and I recall my DH having as many of the contents as me. However, I also got it from Bicester for a bargain price of around £80 and for that it was brilliant. If you are close to an outlet store if may be worth considering.

TheToteBagLady · Yesterday 09:30

I’m definitely going to buy two this year.

I “only” got Space NK last year, and I’ve already used almost everything. I would love to have enough to get me through the whole year.

I’ve had the Penhaligon’s calendar twice but I got it heavily reduced from the outlet. I loved the packaging amd most of the contents, but the large perfume on Xmas day was Halfeti, which is one of the very few perfumes that I really hate. I really liked Jo Malone and Jo Loves, especially the voucher for a 100ml bottle of your choice in the final door of Jo Loves. Maison Margiela did a 12 day calendar a couple of years ago, which I really enjoyed but I don’t think they had one last year. I’ve loved Liberty and Harrods when Ive had them in the past, but have spent ages choosing one with the contents that suit me best. My husband usually buys me Jo Malone or Jo Loved for a combined birthday and Xmas present, but I still had loads left over from previous years, so he bought me F&M last year, which I really liked.

NC543210 · Yesterday 10:52

I was lying in bed thinking about advent calendars this morning as you do in July and wondered if this thread was back.

I have had snk the past 2 years and suspect I will probably go with them again. Looking forward to seeing what their line up is. Like a PP I too hope someone has the k18 air wash in (there is a dupe by got2b which is pretty decent too for those who'd like to try it)

I also buy my daughters a nice one too. Last year I got one the glossybox and the other I cannot remember but had a lot of k beauty in it.
I am thinking of Sephora and cult for them this year.

I do really want the harrods FAC but doubt I'll get it so I hope the snk one is better than last year as want to branch out in my AC obsession.

BeautyMoth · Yesterday 08:08

For those undecided about Liberty, Planning with Crystal has a review on YouTube. Liberty 2026.

Thanks for this, it does look slightly better having watched her talk about the products. I'm probably going to get it just because I have beauty drop credit saved up so it would be cheap. I'd probably still want a second calendar if I got this though so it may be a false economy.

IlovePond · Yesterday 12:21

Gosh @Beautyfox - that’s a brilliant price for Penhaligon’s - I saw it at the outlet for half price once but no lower. I dislike 90% of their perfumes but for £80 I would definitely have given it a go!

@NC543210 - I was seriously tempted by GB myself last year - for me it by far the best of the reasonably priced calendars.

I am usually very good at finding bargain calendars but failed miserably last year and haven’t found any sale bargains from last Xmas to put away for 2026 either. (Unless I count the 2025 S&G one I picked up half price in Boots - mustn’t forget I have that!)

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · Yesterday 12:34

@Stopyourhavering64thats a great tip about topcashback I didn’t think to use it with Libertys!

I’ve just preordered the calendar now, had £40 in my beauty pot and £20 in vouchers so that was a bit off it and then the topcashback to come back as well!
