Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

I went to Liberty today to spray as many of the 2026 a/c perfumes as I could. I had not realised it was Pride today so half the roads were blocked and it took me ages to get from Charing Cross to Liberty and back again as I had to keep detouring.

Anyway - the upshot is that I heartily dislike all of the ones I tried on today. I thought some might smell better after a while but I am on the train home and the various patches on my arms all smell awful 😿

Oh dear! Which ones did you manage to test?

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 17:15

I disliked all of them in varying degrees:

Blue Talisman -ghastly
Matiere Crystal Saffron - not good, but not absolutely awful
Bibbi Vanilla Factory - awful
Lbty Tana Meadow - just about bearable
DS & Durga Debaser - smelt vile on me

pinkchampagne1 · 04/07/2026 17:50

I am guessing you are giving the calendar a definite swerve then! 😆 Did you get it last year?

I got the Tana Meadow in the beauty drop and could barely smell it on myself so it isn’t one I would purchase.
I know I dislike Debaser but not tried the others.

JoRaRaRa · 04/07/2026 18:05

I feel like I'm the only one who loves tana meadows 🤣🥰

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 18:07

@pinkchampagne1 - it looks like it, as I don’t really want any of the non-perfume items either, (apart from the MZ product and the magnesium spray!)

It’s so annoying, as I have been saving up for the calendar in BD since last July and I feel like I have thrown that money away now as I NEVER buy from Liberty ordinarily, so it’s not like I can just go and buy something else. (I actually really dislike it as a shop and they don’t stock most of the brands I buy.) I would never spend £150/£200 on an edit or similar, for example.

Tbf, I did buy, (and like), the sleep edit, but that is the only thing I have bought from Liberty, (apart from calendar 25), in the last 15 years or so!

Last year’s calendar was very much a special purchase that I really enjoyed, (despite a few DODs). It’s totally my own fault for assuming that this one would also be about 75% ok to exciting!

I will see what the men’s calendar is like and also the summer GWP, then make a decision.

I really like it, i even bought an extra off vinted😅

Hi everyone 👋 Thanks for the thread, this is always my favourite one of the year!

It’s an easy no to the Liberty calendar for me, I’m a bit disappointed by it, I normally love the Liberty one. Looking forwards to the other reveals…

I feel the same about the beauty drop. I am
thinking of cancelling. I was saving to maybe purchase the calendar but it doesn’t interest me at all. I got the Harrods calendar last year which included the U beauty serum (I have another that I got for £10 from Vinted), an MZ eye cream (I know the one in Liberty is slightly different) and the AB face oil so none of those products excite me. The rest is mainly travel sized hair and body bits, fragrances which I might not like and a couple of make up bits that I don’t need. I keep looking at it thinking it might grow on me but it isn’t happening. 😞

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 18:21

Misery loves company @pinkchampagne1 but I am sorry you are in the same position!

I am in total agreement @IlovePond . I’m so frustrated . Because I wished I had just saved separately now . I’ve not even loved the beauty drops . So I am going to cancel unless the men’s one is good , I did like last years .
and now thinking I’m just going to try and pray I get Harrods FAC and then wait for the edits nearer Christmas or even what appears in the sales .

I was quite interested in the liberty for the Sisley cream but after doing more research, I found that it's an extra layer and assists with helping serums and moisturisers to sink in. I feel the same @pinkchampagne1 after having the Harrods last year, those 3 don't excite me either.

I thought at first that the Sisley cream was a moisturiser so I felt the same as you and it was the only item that was interesting me. When you said you had read into it and it was another layer, I lost all interest. I don’t need yet another step for my skin care! 😏

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 19:06

I’ve just looked at last year’s Liberty calendar for men and it was ok, but not very exciting. I am not hopeful for this year’s.

Tbf, those who love the perfumes in the women’s calendar will probably love 2026’s as there are so many different ones in there.

I don’t know what it is about all these obscenely priced niche perfumes that makes them smell like rat’s p* on me 😿 It must be some common element that doesn’t suit my skin chemistry because I am yet to find more than the odd one or two that don’t smell dreadful on me!

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 19:09

I totally agree on the Sisley @pinkchampagne1 and @JoRaRaRa - I was reasonably keen on trying it, but as someone who already struggles to work out where serums fit in with my skincare routine, I certainly don’t need another layer of confusion thrown in!

JoRaRaRa · 04/07/2026 19:25

Exactly, I don't think we need anymore layers 🙈

Did you enjoy the perfumes from the 2025 calendar? Am I right in thinking Blue Talisman was in that one too? 🤔

Pretty sure at least three of the perfumes in this year’s BAC were in the men’s AC last year.

IlovePond · 04/07/2026 20:12

I disliked last year’s perfume too 😿 @pinkchampagne1 - except for Vanilla Powder and the Liberty one - both of which were ok, but not marvellous. I sold as many as possible for a few quid each on eBay.

However, I liked most of the rest of the calendar and thought the full sized skincare was good, so overall I enjoyed the experience.

I’m with you all too @IlovePond Not remotely inspired by the Liberty AC this year either @SunnyPinkMoose

Addictedtobeauty · 04/07/2026 20:26

I have pre ordered Liberty but have decided I will be cancelling the BD after the next box and saving separately. I think I am reaching fatigue stage with beauty products; I will possibly get Jo Malone if there is a good offer/gwp at some point. And Harrods will be looked at but I have more than enough of everything, and then some.

If I can’t sell stuff on Vinted to make the calendar purchases net zero this year, I’m not buying. That’s my plan.
In all honesty, I still have unopened ones from the last two years. I need to take a break!

TreesinthePark · 04/07/2026 20:33

I'm wondering now if I've convinced myself to like the Liberty AC because I have so much credit/vouchers and I've not been keen on the edits. (Even rejoined BD this month for discount on AC!)

I need to have another look at it because right now I still need £80 cash towards it that might be better used on a different AC. I first got Liberty in 2022, skipped it in 2023 and 2024 and then got it again in 2025.

Honestly, I love this thread because there's not a single soul in my life I can deliberate this with! ☺️

SunnyPinkMoose · 04/07/2026 20:44

@TreesinthePark it’s the same here my friends have no understanding of my love for this ( slight obsession 🤣) group of superb people and the love for the BAC’s . That’s not to say that are not the first ones to ask what’s good . And all that I get here . I’m just thinking what the hell am I going to buy for 180 + . I haven’t fallen in love with a single perfume that I can even buy a full bottle of . And I bet the one I do won’t be at Liberty . I might just save it all and do a trip to London for the sales and hope something makes my heart skip . I bet I love all the other BAC’s 😂😂😂😂

pinkchampagne1 · 04/07/2026 20:52

I am really hoping that the Harrods calendar isn’t going to be equally disappointing 😣
