Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

There are odd items I won't let go for stupidly cheap but I've mostly become comfortable with the idea that if I don't want it and there's nobody in my life could use it then it just needs to be sold at whatever I can for it.

I've been quite good at working through skincare recently and not bringing in very much new stuff. I think that Elemis bargain BAC from Jan/Feb tipped me into OMG territory. Let's not talk about make up though.

I have stuck to my new year resolution of zero purchasing from kbeauty sites. I'm clinging to that one success.

Feb - June is the well behaved part of the year though. We're in choppy waters now with advents/black friday/xmas and jan sales. 😬

Mine has definitely developed from BACs to every edit under the sun plus HG repurchases.
Summer is my Vinted selling window so am going to have a strict offload over the next few weeks and hope I don’t get accused of being a pro seller. Honestly Vinted, I’m not pro, just have a beauty buying addiction.

Me too. Winter sales, spring birthday, summer holidays, Black Friday, then Christmas. I just don’t stand a chance! I think this year is particularly bad because I’ve found my fellow enthusiasts on here and some of the offers have been soo good this year. I am trying to be better, in fact soo good CB sent me an email with 15% off this am because they hadn’t seen me in a while. 😂. Although on deeper reflection maybe I’ve just branched out. Although I still haven’t purchased the liberty scent kit yet but let’s not talk about the fact that I currently need all of the beauty advents that have been announced soo far so I think August will be an expensive month!

I've been a problem for the last year 🤣 I bought the acs and then started on the edits, then the sales then decided I needed skincare for summer and all the fairy bargains. I'm going through my bargain calendars now and listing on vinted. Stuff isn't selling as fast as it was last year though.

There doesn’t seem to be much love for this year’s Harrods fragrance calendar on Instagram. People seem to think it has too many repeats and isn’t as good as last year as less full sizes.

So far I like Harrods the best but it would take me a while to get through all the eye products, would like to see the make up shades and there is a lot we haven't seen, like Space NK so hard to decide right now. I will only get one big one and often find a less expensive one I am happy with

I’m not sure about the Harrods fragrance this year. Disappointed that they’ve got the horrid Brompton Immortals in there again, and I still have the Delina and Amouage that they sent us a couple of years ago (and I’m not crazy about either of them). Unlike others, I do like the boring Jo Malone fragrance though! 😂

I’m not whether I’ve tried any of the others, but a couple of the names look vaguely familiar so I’m going to have to raid by perfume stash to see whether I already have samples.

I headed out today for a shopping trip. I hunted down a few that I could find from the Harrods FAC. Oud for Greatness I liked. Delina Exclusif I don't dislike but prefer the original.

Tried the Thameen one and found I couldn't smell it very well. I have the same issue with MFK Baccarat Rouge. It did develop a bit on my skin and from what I could smell I liked it. It could be one of those scents where I reek of it to other people but I can barely tell.

Tried the Sisley lipstick from Harrods BAC and even though we don't know the exact shade/s the formula is beautiful. Seriously buttery, so that's upped the chances of me choosing Harrods quite a bit.

Swatched the Trinny eye shades from Liberty BAC. I'd want to get Magician out of the two options (other one Joy). It seems like quite a cool toned greyish brown on the hand.

Had a sniff of MP Crystal Saffron, also in the Liberty BAC. Not for me. I don't think I like Saffron as a note.

Also tried MP Metal Lavender from the recent scent kit and not keen on that either so I'm glad I was sensible and passed it up.

I feel a bit more on the fence than last year. There's a couple I really want and a couple I'm curious about and seem well regarded. Not kidding myself I won't click buy if I get the chance but last year Valaya was big draw for me, I'm less fussed about the Delina Exclusif.

I've managed to talk my DP into getting me the Harrods BAC for my birthday in October 🥳 This does mean I could contemplate getting a different one myself depending on the contents. Im impatient and want to see more reveals so I can start properly comparing them all.

I’m not sure if I’m going to go for it! I’ve bought it every year, but I’m not really getting that excited about it…although I do love a challenge, so may change my mind when I inevitably get FOMO 😁
I am interested in the BAC from Harrods, though some drawers are looking a bit suss! 15ml Tatcha and eyelash curlers 🙄

I'm not totally convinced it's 15ml. Looks 10ml at most.

any discount that you're getting is largely from the producer. It's all a massive trick

@JoJuniorShabadoo I'm not sure I understand your point. We are here because we enjoy discussing, buying, using the contents of BACs. I don’t think that’s about to stop anytime soon.

Tbh I think we're all well aware, thanks, and just working the system ourselves a bit! Luxury beauty is widely acknowledged to be one of the highest mark ups ever - we know that, everyone on these threads is well-versed in the game. So actually if you are savvy, and know what you want, the calendar season can be great for bargains. And if you are a newbie, well, it's a great time to try new products for minimum cost and work out what you want to spend your money on in the future. Surely this is better than experimenting at full cost?
