Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

I really must rein myself in this year. I’ll probably go for another Korean AC as I bought the Sylvan Glow last year which was lovely. I really wanted the Stylevana but their window of opportunity was so brief it sold out almost before it was advertised in the UK.

Beautyfox · 08/07/2026 17:24

Interesting article mainly about last years advent calendars with a few predictions for this year. It’s made me realise just how many advent calendars I should have picked up last year. I think I have non-buyers remorse (if that’s a thing.

In contrast to most people on here I thought the Liberty calendar looked fine. It’s got a good ratio of skincare to makeup to perfume. I got it last year and was really pleased with it. I love trying new scents and bits of makeup. I actually really liked the mascara from Jones Road. The skincare was mostly quite good as well. I’m using the serum at the moment and the eye cream and there was a good face cream too, although small. I’ve not got through half the scents though so I will probably go for something with fewer in. Fortnum and Mason is the one I’m waiting for the reveal of.

I’m really happy with the Liberty calendars both last year and this. Maybe it’s because I’m new to BACs. I buy a lot of the kits, get both perfumes from
Dyptique and Vilelm from liberty and tend to buy homeware and fabric in the sales as well as bits of jewellery. I think that makes the beauty drop work and knowing well that I like niche perfumes compared to Chanel and all the stuff you can buy at boots. Looking forward to Dec 1st.

I think oh looks good too. There’s some high end skincare that more than cover the total cost. The rest is just a bonus.

ADHDQueen · 08/07/2026 18:13

Nice to see this thread up & running for the year. I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I will try to make more of an effort. Have pre-ordered the Liberty calendar using my BD credit already. It had to be done. I'm hoping I like the perfumes now. 🙏

I spent a fortune on calendars in 2024, reigned it in a little last year & am hoping to restrain myself even more this year, but this thread won't help. I'm really looking forward to seeing what is in the Harrods & Cult Beauty calendars. I'll be keeping an eye out for any with Medik8 in them & will no doubt cave in. 😆

IlovePond · 08/07/2026 19:40

I liked the Jones Road mascara myself @Itsnouse but the first one I got was clumped and dried up, so was unusable. Liberty sent me another one and I loved it the first time I used it. However, when I tried to use it again a few days later, the rest of the tube was just dry and clumpy.

If Liberty wanted to restore faith in the product/brand it would have been a good idea to put a full size version of the mascara in a BD box sometime in the following year.

AlPaccacino · 08/07/2026 21:34

Peed off that my Quidco cashback got declined by Liberty. £21! Taken the shine off now.

Thelifeofawife · 09/07/2026 00:29

I’m finally got around to trying the Moncho Moreno bond spray from Harrods BAC. The first day I used it I had a compliment on my hair, which I didn’t think looked particularly better than when I use my other products, but having used it again, it definitely does make a difference and when I’ve left my hair to dry naturally it looked a lot less frizzy.

I also finally got around to using WA blush stick today. I sold the one out of my BAC but got another in a SpaceNK GWP, in shade petal. I don’t know why I was so against trying a stick blush rather than powder, it melted into my skin lovely and gave a nice natural flush (I didn’t go in too heavy with it being my first use).

@Beautyfox Thanks for the article link, I just had a look and have realised that there’s so many things I want from the JL one, and it’s still sat unopened!! 🙈 I keep pushing it back but then buy more edits. I don’t know why, because I was quite excited to buy this one

Thelifeofawife · 09/07/2026 00:56

Correction, the WA blush stick was from the SpaceNK ‘I do’ edit, not GWP - I got the GWP with my order and had put the blush stick in the same box 🙈

To be fair to Liberty, they did send our replacements to those of us who had clumpy mascaras and they couldn’t really have known. The second one I got was great. I really enjoyed using it.
it’s probably not viable for them to send full size ones to all with BD especially as many of those people wouldn’t have had the AC. I do agree it was disappointing but I feel they dealt with it fairly.

Doglover73 · 09/07/2026 13:46

Just looking on vinted at the harrods spray. Whilst cutting my stash. 🤣 but my hair is so frizzy and dry

Calminthecountryside · 09/07/2026 18:27

keep an on random lifestyle vlog on YT they post a lot advent content around this time of the year. They already covered liberty.

viccabelle · 09/07/2026 19:00

I keep panicking when I see the disappointed comments about Liberty as I've already preordered with my BD credit. Looking at the contents again, I really like it. Crappy body cream aside (I'll put something extra in that day to boost it) I feel there is a really good mix of products and my priority is to always have a few premium skin care products and the Mz eye cream, Sisley lotion and Zelens moisturiser look great. I love niche perfumes and will enjoy trying these and some other products I wouldn't have bought but will be pleased to try e.g Trinny, magnesium spray, Maria nila, Reome. Ilia is a product I use and rebuy, as is Sunday Riley Overall considering I 'paid' £20 i feel happy with it.

Please don’t panic or let it put you off. That’s the wonderful thing about this group, everyone can have a different opinion.

Beauty products are such individual likes and dislikes. As an audience, we are fickle and whimsical 😊 What we like or don’t like, is just so ephemeral.

We have a strange set of wants, which are, at times, jaded through over exposure.

The AC from L, isn’t bad, it just doesn’t seem to be as good as some of us had hoped. Enjoy it 😊

Don't worry. We're all different. I quite like Liberty this year - more than the last couple of years so it's on my maybe list especially as I have credit.

I really like the look of Liberty this year and I would absolutely preorder if I could choose my delivery date.
I didn’t get the Harrods beauty advent last year and a few people have commented about the overlap in products so for me it’s great because I’m getting the products I missed out on last year too.

Agree with everyone else, BACs are such a personal thing. I’m very fussy about perfume, so 8 for me is risky, especially after last years Liberty where I only liked 1. I love some of the products and have enough to buy it outright so I still may do, I just want to see what the others are like before I decide ( although that makes no sense as others will cost more money!!).

I also need some more reveals before deciding. I want to be sensible and buy no more than two beauty calendars (yes, I am laughing at myself as I type this 😂). I know there's a very strong chance I will want SpaceNK as the top spot so I don't want to jump on Liberty until I've seen some others.

@viccabelle - it would be a boring world if we all agreed 😹 It’s good to get other people’s perspectives on things and the Liberty calendar is an experience in itself.

I’m glad I got it last year, (just wish I had put away £25 a month in an account this year rather than in BD, to give myself some flexibility!)

I’ve bought it and really looking forward to it. I think it looks great. Comparison is the thief of joy. You do you x

Edited

I started to do just that as I was aware that if I didn’t want the AC then Liberty had a couple of hundred pounds of mine that I would prefer the freedom to spend elsewhere. Liberty is quite a niche store and I felt I would be limited in finding something there that I wholeheartedly wanted to spend that much money on.

Keffert · 10/07/2026 07:21

I think some posters on here have been buying BACs/edits/high end beauty a lot longer/more frequently than I have and I found last year that a lot of the products I was excited to try they already had product fatigue over. That’s not to say those products are bad, just that they’d had them several times before so weren’t excited by them. As someone who has never had the liberty calendar before, nor used most of those products, it would still be exciting to me. I think if you can get it with Beauty Drop credit (which is effectively money you’ve already spent) then it’s still an excellent option.

I think what I am trying to say in a rather convoluted way is that you shouldn’t let someone else saying it’s not for them put you off!

BIossomtoes · 10/07/2026 07:43

I quite envy you getting your first Liberty AC @Keffert. You’ll really enjoy it. I remember mine and how excited I was.

It makes me sad that the shine’s worn off for me, partly because I’ve found so many holy grail products that will never be beaten. I’m not interested in eye creams or mascara because the ones I already use are the ones I’ll always use now.

Have fun and enjoy.

Keffert · 10/07/2026 09:10

Ah I’m not getting it. Not this year anyway…
But if I were I’d be very excited!

Doglover73 · 10/07/2026 09:16

As above. I wish I was new to the advents etc to get those first buzzes again.
I am a self confessed beauty addict. And in the last 18 months its got worse/more but it's my comfort, hobby and outlet. And ive met some lovely, people through it 😍
Ive bought so much this last year that it just doesn't wow me and is very samey. Especially as I got it last year and buy edits from all over and have the liberty beauty drop. I definitely have product fatigue.
And to add have no beauty drop money atm after buying numerous edits. 🤣 so wouldnt technically be free.
Its an amazing calendar and a great price for people who are newish or just know they love the items and will make use of them. I could buy to sell stuff on but theres not enough to warrant it.
I'm going to look at jo loves and jo msaone this year but know ill get reeled in by any offers 🤣😍
I just cant help it. 😊
The wonderful thing about these pages is we all love beauty and everyone loves different stuff for different reasons and everybody is supportive.
I looked at the lf first and was tempted by 2 but then after reading comments on here im holding back so thank you for that. Mainly because again ive got too much and only one face that tbh atm is not thanking for my beauty obsession. 🤣
Enough waffling. The suns getting to me.

Have a great day everyone 😀
