Which kind of outfit or particular item are you seeing in the hot weather that you'd like to ban Man or woman.

Quite a few! First place goes to men who wear full or half-length jogging bottoms. Probably any item of clothing in jogging material type in fact. It's a real turn off for me.

But then again, I really like a man in a shawl collared jumper!

It's good that we aren't all the same as each other!

BornAgainLuddite · 29/05/2026 15:48

Whilst I'm a fan of people wearing whatever the hell they like, I wasn't keen on the 'beach yoga in bikini thong' look which I saw one woman sporting this week. I think it's not unreasonable to expect orifices which aren't on the head to be fully covered unless in a 'naturists welcome' area.

Practically anything white British men wear when it’s hot!

Here comes the racism.

Jeez what a nasty thread. I agree on the non clothed men though

I think this thread reveals quite a lot of oddness too. One poster said she didn’t like it when men wear long, loose shorts. I can understand objecting to nakedness but that seems a fairly neutral clothing choice.

CurlewKate · 29/05/2026 15:00

IN MY OPINION black and brown men dress better than white men. In a variety of styles. And black and brown skin does not go red and shiny the way white skin does.

I would stop now if I was you 🙄

Why?

Well if you don’t know I’m not going to tell you.

Yes, me too. Lots of people i know have prescription sunglasses - why wouldn't you? 🤔

Because I have a complicated prescription and my lenses cost £700. This is why I wear those sunglasses that fit over your glasses. Because of cost.

awfulapril · 30/05/2026 09:23

If you're a row with the racism, can you take it somewhere else?
I could start a new thread for you?

Agreed!

Fanakerpan · 30/05/2026 10:27

Why on earth would you think it appropriate to bring race into a style and beauty thread?????

jeffgoldblum · 30/05/2026 11:58

CurlewKate · 29/05/2026 08:49

Because generally black and brown British men either dress better or if they don’t look better in their clothes.

Honestly!! 🙄

I would think that should be obvious.

Well perhaps it’s best you stop digging a hole then!

I wear flip flops everywhere apart from work and at the gym in summer.

Fast800goingforit · 30/05/2026 12:28

CurlewKate · 29/05/2026 20:19

Why?

Because your comment is racist. It's a stereotyping generalisation with no basis in fact. If you really haven't realised that then you need to have a word with yourself.

Ok, so start a thread about these opinions, then.

Lots of Style and Beauty discussions around race.
Make up, beauty standards, cultural appropriation, sizing and body shapes etc etc.
As an ethnically Indian (genetics not culture) woman, my fashion choices are influenced by my skin in sun, eye and hair colour. I think if I was pale and red haired some of my clothes wouldn’t suit me.

That's absolutely not what @CurlewKatewas posting about!

Are they brought in , in quite so obviously a racist way though? , I very much doubt it !
if you go back and replace the word “white” with any other colour in that poster’s comments and think it’s ok then 🤷‍♀️
