Normally I'm in the camp of if you need to ask then it's a no but keen to hear what other's thoughts are. Is there too much white?
Thanks!

It's beautiful and not too white.

I have only heard that tradition on here. I've been to plenty of weddings where many guests wear white especially when it's a summer wedding. No one has ever commented or care
It's a made up tradition.

All traditions are made up, that's how they become traditions.

It’s fine and I like it. I don’t get the dressing gown vibes.

Really lovely dress. Not too white and I don't think it looks like a dressing gown at all. I would order it if I had a life and any occasion to wear it.

Northermcharn · Yesterday 05:58

Not too white. But questionable design for a wedding. Ideal to fling on after you've woken up on a sunny holiday, and padded out onto the balcony / terrace for a coffee.

Not too white. There are a lot of dresses in that style at the moment and I rather like it. Good on an hourglass figure.

It’s fine. A little like a dressing gown to me but the colours are fine.

My first thought!
Dressing gown.
Sorry.

Notmyreality · Yesterday 07:02

It’s a typical summer dress and ideal for a summer wedding.

Personally thinking all the “dressing gown” comments are from projecting people who lack the body confidence to pull it off themselves.

Um, no it just looks like a dressing gown 😂

I think it's lovely & not too white.

It's not too white. For posters who say it looks like a dressing gown - it doesn't. it's not a wrap over dress. Perhaps a trip to Specsavers?

UrsulaBelle · Yesterday 08:34

I mean, it's a nice pattern, not too white, but my first thought also was that it looks like a Japanese kimono style dressing gown. The wrap look twisted front, the kimono sleeves and the satin material are very reminiscent of a dressing gown style from the 1980s or 1990s. If some of you are too young to remember then, these were very commonly found on glamorous TV sitcom wives.

Northermcharn · Yesterday 08:35

Why are people getting defensive over others saying the dress looks a bit like a dressing gown? Rather peculiar!

In the wedding dress guest section I see.

It's a lovely dress and is perfect for a summer wedding. If you're comfortable and confident in it wear it!

Macadamia20 · Yesterday 08:46

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I don't think the pictures do it justice, I picked it up in the shop, I probably wouldn't have bought it based on the online photos. Like a pp said, it's not a wrap dress so when it's on me I don't think it looks too dressing gowny. I think it doesn't fit the model particularly well.
I'll keep looking for other options but failing that I'm going with this!

I'm 66. The dress doesn't look like a dressing gown. For starters, it's not a wrapover

Not sure what type of holidays you go on but it definitely doesn't fall under this category 😂

Agree. It's silky and flowery, but nothing like the same shape or style.

Ooo interesting! A sunny warm holiday with a balcony or terrace.. doesn't everyone who goes on summer holidays go on those? Whether in the Canaries or the Maldives..

As I said before try Specsavers. That is a wrapover with a belt
