And Max and Wax are in the US. I love Melania's dress here and Max looks very elegant - they do look as if they've dressed for very different climates though. It sounds as if there is a dinner tonight - I don't know how formal it's likely to be.

Orange! Max is so loyal. I like the suit, but it would be better without the long peplum, imo. Melania looks nice, it's a bit of a departure for her in terms of design, but it works well.

I think a suede skirt or jacket yes but not a suit. It looks so bulky and hot.

Well my favourite of Meghan’s looks is the navy dress, and if you remember my feelings on gold buttons you’ll know that’s saying a lot. Nearly matches my aversion to the term Slacks. It makes me think of Slack Alice, isn’t that someone who’s a bit of a slattern (trying to keep it polite).
Melania’s dress looks like it’s made of paper macher. Wonder if Max packed the Bling for later?

Interestingly, Ernst's princely title is courtesy of the UK rather than Hannover because Germany abolished those sorts of titles decades ago!

And that's interesting too because a lot of the UK-granted titles of German aristocrats were abolished after the outbreak of WW1 - in some cases they were replaced with British titles (e.g. Prince Louis of Battenberg became the Marquis of Milford Haven), but I think that's only the ones who were fully settled in the UK. There's a rabbit hole for someone to dive down!

I once saw a German documentary on ecology. They interviewed Prince Philip. It was fascinating to hear him chat away in German, obviously fluent and using idioms.

The navy dress of Meghan’s is much better than the brown outfit (although the latter much better when worn without the odd jacket and just as sleeveless top and skirt). Like some you, though, I just really dislike brown clothes.
