Tonight was the night of the V&A "Fashioning the Crown" webcast that I mentioned on the last thread. I wasn't able to join live so I'm waiting for them to send the link out to the recording so I can watch over the weekend. I'll report back!

Continuing her work highlighting sex and gender based violence, Sophie is in Mogadishu.
She looks good and very appropriate, imo. I'm not a fan of brown, but actually the brown dress is nice. Max Mara and Me+Em

-EHolmes (anyone else fillow her?) is positing that the wrinkled trousers are intentional. I think that’s a stretch!!

I used to follow her but then she got a bit annoying. Royal Fashion Police is now run by a new person and I find it much better than before as it's just about the clothes. No more drama and constantly leaving Instagram only to return 5 mins later!

I think they are more 'inevitable' than intentional. If you make/wear trousers in a fabric that wrinkles at the drop if a hat you will have wrinkled trousers.

I think Holmes was saying it was part of the look so she looked worky and not polished as it’s not a fashion event. She also linked the BAFTA controversy to William…

I love RFP. I was looking at some of the Letizia posts - she needs to rethink her flat shoes some of them are awful. I loved this from Mary. I aspire to look this polished!

Royals don’t always dress down for football kicks. Although Kate seems to have had the world’s best action photographer with her who captured her in the right split second from the right angle and in a totally uncreased outfit.

Mary looks lovely in the dress @HollyhockDays posted. I do like contrasting shoes in general but acid yellow, sky high and with a big bling attachment are not ones I would wear. Fitting for the thread title though - thanks @Maireas

Mary is in my opinion a bit inconsistent in her outfits. Here’s one from last week - it’s a commemoration service for 4 years war in Ukraine so a serious event and involves a possibly draughty church but am not sure velvet wide leg trousers are a stylish choice. I do love the blouse colour and neckline and her nails are my colour of choice though.

I think Mary's trousers would've been fine with a shorter jacket. I also thought for a moment that she wasn't wearing a top!

I'm sorry, elderly parent care is the main reason I'm not posting much either and we have had a close shave in the last week too.

I like what Sophie was wearing in Mogadishu too, she always manages to look cool and fresh in what are probably hot and sticky locations, suitably modest and practical. I'll forgive her the double breasted jacket, it works with the outfit.

Good points, @ExcellentDaydream . I think patterned dresses in this situation are definitely the way to go. I think the jacket looks good with the dress.

As for fashion - I think Meghan should avoid baggy trousers. The swamp her petite frame, and never look as good as they could.
As someone else has said, she does casual really well. So follow that silhouette in different fabrics. Eg cigarette pants could be dressed up or down.

Yes I really like the brown ( ?) dress with white jacket and shoes! , sometimes you really need to see them in motion to really appreciate the style, I’m particularly taken with the lady in the red outfit! So bold , so confident, looks fabulous.

The red coat? It's very elegant, with the velvet lapels. Although I generally have an antipathy to brown, I really like this brown dress and white jacket.

Meghan's trousers are an abomination - too long, too baggy and too creased. I really, really want to like her outfit choices as she often chooses classic styles in neutral shades (which I love) but she either needs to ditch the trousers or get them fitted properly.

On the other hand I love Sophie's working wardrobe for her trips abroad - many of which aren't places that are easy to dress for.

Max looks amazing, and Amalia looks great. Less sure on the yellow shoes on Mary though - they look like something I wore clubbing in the late 80s and I'm not sure that's the look she's aiming for.
