Welcome to style mavens old and new to continue our chats.
Hopefully more bling if there's another banquet on the horizon?

I agree, @RockaLock. Harry seems to have just got into a particular clothing zone.
I think he could mix it up with different styles of jackets at least. Definitely for some of these visits.

It's posh boy casual never grown up - the kind of stuff he would slope about in when he was young.

Lovely pic of Duchess of Edinburgh in the Times

She really looks at ease with what she does.

I don’t normally say this .. but she’s ageing so beautifully, so natural a real glow!

I’d really like someone to do an interview with Sophie on the issues she supports. I think it would be fascinating to hear whats she’s learnt etc. She clearly feels very passionate about women’s issues.

Yes, I read an interview a few months ago, it was hard to read in parts, but very necessary.

Lovely pictures, @therealslimjeffy !
Look how youthful Edward is!

Agree with all the sentiments on Sophie.
It does feel like she’s of a Princess Anne mold/mould? in terms of her work ethic.

FallenNight · 27/02/2026 12:47

Though Sophie has fewer and larger causes she focuses on. Anne seems to be the go to for all the miscellaneous un-headline grabbing local appearances which allow more people to see a Royal in the flesh. I wonder who will take on that role when she retires, or if it will just go. Which would be a shame. It creates a nice buzz when the news comes round that a Royal will be visiting your local pub/care home/factory/library opening etc.

Halphabetty · 27/02/2026 12:49

I like to see what shoes Sophie is wearing - she goes for espadrilles a lot. I just cant wear high heels now, if I ever could. She tends not to go super high.

It looks like espadrilles in the photos.

It does, doesn't it. I must look at some for the summer.

RomainingCalm · 27/02/2026 13:22

Those are lovely pictures of Sophie (and Edward) - she really does look great in the photos from Africa. It's such a shame that her work isn't shouted about a little more loudly although I suspect she's quite happy to just get on with it without the press analysing her every move and outfit.

I've often thought the same @FallenNight - when you see the list of where Anne is visiting in March it's so diverse - playing fields, school cadet force inspection, fishmongers' lunch and the Great Shaftesbury Bake Off are just some of them!

Don't forget the Bin Depot! 😊

I love Meghan’s cape coat, but it would’ve looked better with cigarette style trousers. I really like the colours she wears.

I never like anything Sophie wears, but then I generally loathe patterns and prints, but she looks appropriate and comfortable. Frightful espadrilles.

Not a fan of Kate’s burgundy look. Really don’t like the pussy bow.

ShamedBySiri · 27/02/2026 18:22

Off topic but there is an upmarket vintage shop in a town near me. Top couture designers. If anyone fancies recreating Catherine’s James Bond premiere bling here’s the perfect opportunity. Dolce et Gabbana 1990’s I think she said, in their For Hire section. Bloody gorgeous. And if you have tiny feet someone has had a clear out of their Manolo Blahniks think there’s something to go with the dress there.

Some of the stuff is truly fabulous, when you actually see it up close and feel the material you begin to think the outrageous prices aren’t so outrageous. 😍🤩

ShamedBySiri · 27/02/2026 18:28

I was in there a couple of weeks ago and a woman brought in a couple of dresses she said were Dior samples, only worn twice. Naturally my ears were flapping faster than a hummingbird’s wings. No price - the lady said she would need to research the authenticity and get back to her.

As for me - I have been looking for a chunky cowboy style belt. Saw one in London, just what I wanted but £150 😱 so was pleased to find just what I wanted in there for £40 (RM Williams, £90 new). It fitted around my waist (last hole) but when I tried to use it in my jeans they sat slightly below my waist and I couldn’t do it up. So I gave it to DD who is very pleased with it. So if I buy a new one at £90….the Bond Street £150 doesn’t look so bad!! 🙄😂

ShamedBySiri · 27/02/2026 18:29

They are going into wedding dress hire if anyone is looking…

Maireas · 27/02/2026 19:09

That's certainly blingy, @ShamedBySiri !
I wonder how much those Dior samples went for?

Some throwback pics!

The Windsor men have a habit of being quite dishy when they’re young and then of ageing badly! I don’t think what seems to be a dominant baldness gene helps, though Andrew didn’t inherit it and he also hasn’t aged well.

It's not from Philip that's for sure.
