Concealing the camel toe 🐫

VernitaGreen · 14/02/2026 08:09

Only recently bought leggings for the first time for exercise. Any recommendations for hiding the camel toe?

Online searching brings up underwear products that claim to work but all seem a bit dodgy from brands I've not heard of and are either £2 from China or £35 for a single pair of pants.

Has anyone used either the silicone concealers or pants designed for this that work? Or something else, e.g. panty liners.

Wear lined shorts instead

Why do you want to wear leggings particularly?

Tortephant · 14/02/2026 10:59

Look at sweaty Betty, they don' have middle seams and are opaque. As somebody else mentioned, size up too.

MabelAnderson · 14/02/2026 11:02

70s style natural lady garden here, no camel toe, and a nice cosy layer of padding, although rather less post menopause!

LlynTegid · 14/02/2026 11:06

If you are exercising indoors, go for shorts. Your concern is a valid one, ignore those making comments otherwise.

It’s weird isn’t it ? Camel toe is a no but a hungry arse is all the rage!!😂

I don't really want to see every inch of anyones arse including cellulite or their camel toe but I just thought it was me being middle-aged and that was the trend now.

Bit like in the 90s when we wore jeans so low you could see pubes stubble with a thong pulled up so high it was on permanent display and we thought all the middle-aged disapproval was out of touch jealousy and not that we looked ridiculous :)

Feetfingers · 14/02/2026 11:13

Panty liners work for me. Might have to shop around for ones that are more rigid. Softer ones (usually more expensive) don’t work so well

New to exercise and was advised to wear leggings rather than joggers for pilates.

Wouldn't wear shorts with bare legs if you gave me a million quid.

Really? Why not?

I can't wear leggings to exercise. They're so hot and stifling

Booboobagins · 14/02/2026 11:35

Sorry no advice. Wear an extra, extra long top.

It's just a little odd that the suggestions above your comment (some of which seemed to be from personal experience) weren't good enough and you reiterated wanting recommendations from personal experience, asking if anyone else had a problem with it. It just seemed a little suspicious - apologies if that's not the case. Although, what works for others might not work for you anyway.

Either way, shorts are a surefire fix!

Youre either troll hunting or being a dick.

I never have my legs out. I'm not sure it's that unusual.

Appreciate the comments so far and I'll investigate panty liners but I was hoping for recommendations from personal experience. Is this not a problem for anyone else??

I get camel toe but I don't give a shit if I'm honest. All women have flaps for goodness sake, it's our anatomy.

Why should I hide it because some immature idiots don't like seeing the shape of a woman's body? If they don't like it, then the solution is don't look!

Completely appreciate your stance but I covered this in my second post.

Period pants definitely. They're thicker, no crinkly liners moving around, and by design they soak up moisture.

themagicnumberthree · 14/02/2026 13:20

USA pro leggings have that extra triangle of fabric in the crotch so theres no centre seam.

Patchworkquilts · 14/02/2026 13:29

The obvious solution is buy different leggings. Get a thicker pair, a slightly larger pair, a pair without a seam running down the middle… Not all leggings give a camel toe. How do you deal with this in trousers? I’m sure you don’t buy trousers which give you a camel toe. You just buy a different pair that do work. Same for leggings.

I'd have to disagree that its not unusual to never wear shorts to the gym! 😆

TheMorgenmuffel · 14/02/2026 13:41

I wear cycling shorts as underwear and that works well because they are a thicker firmer fabric than knickers.

I have the same issue, not just with leggings though. Most jeans and trousers too. I wear longer tops, for Pilates I have a thin vest top and then wear another top over. I’ve also found Nixi body underwear help, they have a great design with no vpl. Always so envious of others that just wear whatever they want without having to worry about having a hideous camel toe on show

Oneborneverydecade · 14/02/2026 14:13

SlenderRations · 14/02/2026 11:53

panty liners

I tried this recently to avoid the dot of shame being left of the weight machine seats. In my warm down on the treadmill the liner travelled between my cheeks and rubbed my poor butt hole. I won't try again.
I don't have any thigh gap - I think that's why I don't get camel toe. Plus decent leggings

ParmaVioletTea · 14/02/2026 14:24

Seamless leggings? Big pants or period pants? Next size up?

I've been around gyms & dance studios for years - the only camel toe I've ever seen is too tight clothing and wrong underwear.

You might need to think about crotch length - the measurement from waist to between your legs, front & back (it's sometimes called 'seat' or 'girth' by dressmakers/tailors).

Or wear those baggy running shorts which have tighter shorts underneath? or a skort?

I am the same, literally never have my legs out if I can avoid it. Don't have an issue with my legs getting hot. I think lots of women have sensitivities about their legs/cellulite/thighs etc, plus I can't be bothered to shave them regularly but don't like them being hairy (appreciate this is also daft). I totally get why OP just wants to wear her leggings without her bits on show for all to see. I don't have a solution, only that I don't find it an issue in my leggings which are fabletic ones. Suspect she just needs to try a few different brands
