Concealing the camel toe 🐫

Only recently bought leggings for the first time for exercise. Any recommendations for hiding the camel toe?

Online searching brings up underwear products that claim to work but all seem a bit dodgy from brands I've not heard of and are either £2 from China or £35 for a single pair of pants.

Has anyone used either the silicone concealers or pants designed for this that work? Or something else, e.g. panty liners.

Because it means that you can wear whatever the fuck knickers you want. It's not as if you can't see people's thong lines if they are wearing leggings anyway, or people's bra lines, so it's no secret that women generally wear underwear.

Obviously you do what you want and wear what you want. I was just mentioning that it seems to be not as big a deal for the youth anymore

I don't care if VPL is the height of fashion, I don't like it so will keep wearing my thongs that you definitely cannot see. If others don't care, obviously non-issue for them. But there are many things other people do at the gym that I personally would not choose to, like those bum scrunch and lift leggings - again, wear if it makes you happy, just not for me.

How do people wear full briefs without getting VPL?

If you have bad VPL with full briefs then you need to wear a larger size.

I agree. Those scrunch bum things are vulgar..in my opinion. I also don't like having a VPL so I wear non vpl pants from tkmaxx in a size bigger than I am. Works a treat.

That's what I do!

I wasn't suggesting people deliberately try for extra VPL.
Obviously I don't actually care. I was only saying it for those that worried they might be judged for it.
I also prefer thongs or shorts under leggings tbh, because I am also unfashionable.

Actually noticing a lot more acceptance of all sorts of body related things amongst the youth round here.
Compared to growing up in the 90s and all that body pressure.
I know it's still there and we all have our own preferences, but I think there's been quite a backlash against bodyshaming, and people are flaunting their (what would previously be thought of as) flaws, and I think it's quite liberating.

Shamalama56 · 16/02/2026 09:49

Yeah there's so much less pressure nowadays what with women getting botox and fillers in their 20s and 30s and wearing leggings to the gym that deliberately push up their arse 🙄

Ihateboris · 16/02/2026 09:52

I've also noticed the new trend to show nipples..wtf.

I haven't ever had a pair that ride that high up - I am quite tall so I get long leg ones. If you are worried a tunic style top/T shirt that covers front and back would be the safest option.

True. I guess it's just in different ways

Not less no, but different. At least it is OK to be strong and have muscles, which is better for the health than the heroin chic of 90s.

unbalancedBella · 16/02/2026 10:43

I generally don't have this problem - CT - but sometimes do with a few leggings. I try not to give a shit. Noone shames men if they have a bulge in their jeans or exercise wear. Just another way to shame women.

I disagree, its always been fine to be strong and have muscles.
The amount of non celebrity women actually executing the heroin chic look in the 90s was minimal.
Far fewer than the amount currently experimenting with injections.

FWIW I also work out and lift weights but I definitely understand this is part of a capitalist movement - "strong and muscley" creates a lot of scope for selling product (gymwear, gear, powders, supplements, fuelling).

Certainly more scope for selling than "starve yourself".

No it hasn't always been fine for women to be strong and have muscles.
It's generally been mocked and insulted

HeidiLite · 16/02/2026 15:21

it has definitely not been OK to be strong. When I was young, women were explicitly told not to lift weights, you will get manly and bulky. You can maybe do light weights to be 'toned' with 'long muscles'

not even surprised, I would not have believed it if someone told me people will pay money to walk around with a deep wedgie, but here we are..

Agree. I’m 54 and went to various gyms in the 80s/ 90s and the message was light weights with lots of reps or you’ll get big.

Edited

This is so true. I used to be a personal trainer and of every woman I met, their first immediate concern when I recommended lifting was "I wont get bulky will I?" For some reason they all thought they'd turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger after a few days of lifting. It got really tiring explaining how that was impossible over and over again.

Its so sad and irritating because lifting weights are so good for women- bone health, metabolism, retaining muscle etc

LoudSnoringDog · 17/02/2026 07:00

I am sympathetic to your plight. My natural anatomy also gives off camel toe ( I refer to it as my “flabby mound”). I wear longer line tops and over size hoodies.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/02/2026 07:08

Im desperate to be strong again with muscles. My muscles are completely wasted after I spent a year and a half in bed following orthopaedic surgery. Luckily Im ok to join a gym now and staet pumping iron. There is no sight so pathetic as spindly wasted arms. I had to do CPR as part of my job recently and hadn't realised how weak I had become. Pass me those weights.

I'm 56 and remember this so clearly. It was also the era of Jane Fonda aerobics!

VerityUnreasonble · 17/02/2026 13:28

Cycling leggings? Have a padded crotch area so might work? (And also comfy on rock hard spin bike seats)
