I’ve just got a pair of Next Wide rinse blue High wide rise stretch jeans. (Sorry I can’t do a link, the teen is out).

I’m 5’5” and a stone overweight and they are incredibly slimming.
I’ve tried them on with a kitten heel ankle boot which look fab peeking out the bottom of the leg.
I think they would be too long on me to wear with trainers but that’s fine as I think I’ll dress them up rather than go for a trainers/casual look.

There was a thread on here last week regarding the best wide leg jeans and do they suit everyone?
The ones I’ve bought are more flares I guess as they’re fitted at the top. Where a completely wide leg/barrel leg that adds bulk for me, these seem to do the opposite.

Been feeling a bit low/menopausal recently about my weight gain so they’ve really perked me up!
Thoroughly recommend.

Are they the £52 ones? If so I have them too. I absolutely love them. Tight on the top and flare out

RipplePlease · 12/02/2026 15:34

@andthatwasrhatthen
No, they are the £35 ones.

Happy for you, it’s great when you find that perfect fit , are they stretchy, I hate the tight button feeling on my tummy !

I 100% do not need any more jeans but I really like those.

DramaAlpaca · 12/02/2026 15:41

They're really nice. It's great when you find nice jeans that fit well and are flattering, the holy grail!

Actually, I'm mostly posting because I love your admission that you can't do a link because your teen is out Grin

RipplePlease · 12/02/2026 15:41

Just realised that the model in them is wearing loafers.
I will look 100% nothing like the photo but I might try that look out.

Ha! @DramaAlpaca
Yes, we have one DC left who will be leaving soon for uni so I really need to get my act together re tech.
Its just so much easier to get someone else to do it…

I read your thread title and thought "I bet they are the jeans i've just bought!" And they are 😁 they're amazing aren't they? I'm a tall hourglass with a belly pouch, I find jeans so difficult because if they fit on the legs and bum they gape at the waist (I like my jeans very high rise) but these don't! I've had compliments on them and I've only worn them twice.

They also have a slightly lighter blue i'm planning to get after payday

RipplePlease · 12/02/2026 15:59

@scoobydeedoo
I also ordered the lighter blue but they didn’t suit me as well as the dark blue but still lovely.
I have to work now and I keep thinking about my new jeans…

Is that for one pair. I would want a whole outfit for 52 quid 🤣

thebabessavedme · 12/02/2026 16:58

I have them - fantastic! so pleased with them

SnippySnappy · 12/02/2026 17:09

I have a very very similar pair from Next except it doesn't have the stitching at the bottom - but they are still high rise, wide leg, and have stretch. I love them.

People sell them on Vinted quite a lot so I've got a little collection building, I recently bought the 'Straight High Rise' version with a raw hem and they're also stretchy and really comfy - the non-raw hem version of the Straight would be great for work. In fact I might just wear the raw hem ones to work, they're too nice for weekends only 😂

RipplePlease · 12/02/2026 17:17

@SnippySnappy
I think the stretchy element is one of the things that makes them great for me.
I may even try Tucking In My Top with these jeans.
Something that usually ends very badly for me and menobelly.

These are absolutely my favourites! So comfortable and incredibly flattering.- I have a couple of pairs and I live in them

dudsville · 12/02/2026 17:31

I like those, and isn't it wonderful when you find something you like!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/02/2026 17:32

These will probably be my next purchase.

GalaxyJam · 12/02/2026 17:32

I have these and they’re lovely, but I bought a size 12 (my usual size) and they were huge, so I bought a 10 and they’re still too big.

I had the same experience, tried on in a size 16 but they were a little big so thought I'd chance a 14 (I am definitely NOT a 14!) and they fit!

I've washed them once and they feel a bit baggier but they still look good.

Happyjoe · 12/02/2026 17:59

Glad you're happy OP, a decent pair of jeans is something to be cherished. I hate jean shopping, my most hated!

Fallulah · 12/02/2026 18:01

I don’t have these but I have similar ones I bought from Vinted, and then I bought some more because they were so lovely. Never would have thought of Next for jeans before that!

RipplePlease · 12/02/2026 19:01

@GalaxyJam
Unfortunately, I didn’t have this experience as I’ve put on about a stone over the past year.
My size 12s just fit!
