I’ve just got a pair of Next Wide rinse blue High wide rise stretch jeans. (Sorry I can’t do a link, the teen is out).

I’m 5’5” and a stone overweight and they are incredibly slimming.
I’ve tried them on with a kitten heel ankle boot which look fab peeking out the bottom of the leg.
I think they would be too long on me to wear with trainers but that’s fine as I think I’ll dress them up rather than go for a trainers/casual look.

There was a thread on here last week regarding the best wide leg jeans and do they suit everyone?
The ones I’ve bought are more flares I guess as they’re fitted at the top. Where a completely wide leg/barrel leg that adds bulk for me, these seem to do the opposite.

Been feeling a bit low/menopausal recently about my weight gain so they’ve really perked me up!
Thoroughly recommend.

I have a very very similar pair from Next except it doesn't have the stitching at the bottom - but they are still high rise, wide leg, and have stretch. I love them.

People sell them on Vinted quite a lot so I've got a little collection building, I recently bought the 'Straight High Rise' version with a raw hem and they're also stretchy and really comfy - the non-raw hem version of the Straight would be great for work. In fact I might just wear the raw hem ones to work, they're too nice for weekends only 😂

Could you share a link, please? Or, what price are they? I love the OP's ones (thanks for sharing!) but the stitching at the bottom would shorten my already short legs.

Just realised that the model in them is wearing loafers.
I will look 100% nothing like the photo but I might try that look out.

The model is probably 5'11" and size 8 or something. Us normal mortals might not look quite the same!

@Womaninhouse17
Ain't that the truth 🤣

I opened this thread as I thought they might be the jeans I was wearing right now and I was right!!! They are amazing!

hollytheheroic · 13/02/2026 11:36

im 5.4 with the short legs but they do lengthen them

HappilyDivorced89 · 13/02/2026 11:40

I only get my bootcut jeans from Next - gotta be the lift, slim and shape bootcut ones, regular length. I already had them in black, but got a gift card for Christmas and bought them in mid-dark wash denim as well. SO stretchy, comfortable and flattering.
I've got mom jeans from New Look and love them as well, but for a different, more laid back look.

Emotionalsupporttissue · 13/02/2026 11:45

Just ordered a pair ! Bang goes my no spend February 😬

Sandinyourshoes · 13/02/2026 11:54

I got the Next wide leg, high rise with flare, wide hem & double buttons in 12 Petite which was shorter in the leg than the 12 Short length. Hate my jeans trailing in puddles and god knows what on the pavement, and I never wear heels which I’m convinced is why wide leg is always ridiculously long for me. With these jeans with the wide hem feature they wouldn’t look the same if you just cut the hem off to shorten them , which I sometimes do. I went into the changing room & tried them on, something I haven’t done in a while. The 12 waist is roomy but not huge - will wear with a belt in case they slip down when they stretch after sitting down a few times. I actually went back and bought a second pair. Usually I look for cropped length in wide leg, but I haven’t had any luck finding them in the brick and mortar shops.

FiloPasty · 13/02/2026 11:56

I’ve got the M&S ones but my absolute favourite are the Bench wide leg jeans you can pick up both on Vinted so flattering on!

TheChosenTwo · 13/02/2026 12:05

i love the shape of your jeans op!
I’m more than a bit tempted to drive to Next during my lunch break and try them on; I’m not sure about the hem on me but they’re a nice looking pair of jeans and I find jeans really hard. I would also be wearing these with tights or thermals underneath because they would be too draughty in this current weather for me 😂

BoardBoredBared · 13/02/2026 12:16

I have recently bought some Next jeans in a size 15, yes odd sizes on some of their jeans. This is something that should have a giant sign advertising it.

I actually went and tried on about 8 pairs in all different cuts, high waist, low waist etc to see what looked good on me. I do find the R length a little long even though I measure that inside leg.

BoarBrush · 13/02/2026 12:38

I LOVE a flare Jean, but by god can we please get some low waists back. I must have a short torso as all high waisted sit right under my rib cage and I cannot bare it.

scoobydeedoo · 13/02/2026 12:44

Does anyone have any experience with the hourglass fit jeans from Next? Just been to M&S trying on so many pairs of mom jeans, carrot jeans etc, they all fit nicely on the body and legs but I can fit my fist down the back of them! I like to wear jeans with a belt and tops tucked in so need them to fit nicely on the waist!

I like these but I can't face the pain of ordering multiple pairs only to have to return them all, I've just done that with another pair of shoes that don't fit my huge hooves

Jeans (hope this link works)

malificent7 · 13/02/2026 14:01

I want a pair! I am a size 12 with a tummy. Normally have size 14 to compensate
Could I have size 12 with these?

BrendaLee · 13/02/2026 14:29

I really like the look of these - but would they be the right shape for me? I'm 5 2 size 10-12 but with chunky thighs. Do I chance it??

LadyCrustybread · 13/02/2026 14:37

You don’t know how to copy and paste a link? Are you 82?

Well, if they sit under your rib cage you won’t have to BARE it,Will you?

Pushmepullu · 13/02/2026 15:32

I know I’m being a little thick, but what is the difference between wide leg and hourglass please?

sandycloud · 13/02/2026 15:57

I tried those but I ended up getting some flare jeans from Asda for £24. I love them and I was really unsure of this style. Sorry I can’t do links either.

No need really!

Marmalademorning · 13/02/2026 16:43

They are gorgeous! I remember when I saw a post on here about someone who had found a perfect pair of jet black jeans on Next and I ended up snapping up a pair and ended buying a second pair because I loved them so much! Always nice to share recommendations.

Wow! What a rude and unnecessary comment.

Lovelynames123 · 13/02/2026 16:48

I have some similar from Stradivarius (sp?) I'm currently losing weight so might need to invest in the smaller size but they are so flattering, usually wear with platform trainers

BrunchBarBandit · 13/02/2026 16:55

I read this yesterday and ordered 2 pairs which came this morning.

I don’t like them though, they’re already back in the post. I found there was too much material in the rise and the waistband is too thick with the double button. Did nothing for my arse either. I’m 5’11 hour glass size 16

We’re all so different, and I’m glad OP has found her perfect jeans. For me, nothing beats M&S wide leg. www.marksandspencer.com/high-waisted-wide-leg-jeans/p/clp60775569?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share
