So happy with my new jeans!!

I’ve just got a pair of Next Wide rinse blue High wide rise stretch jeans. (Sorry I can’t do a link, the teen is out).

I’m 5’5” and a stone overweight and they are incredibly slimming.
I’ve tried them on with a kitten heel ankle boot which look fab peeking out the bottom of the leg.
I think they would be too long on me to wear with trainers but that’s fine as I think I’ll dress them up rather than go for a trainers/casual look.

There was a thread on here last week regarding the best wide leg jeans and do they suit everyone?
The ones I’ve bought are more flares I guess as they’re fitted at the top. Where a completely wide leg/barrel leg that adds bulk for me, these seem to do the opposite.

Been feeling a bit low/menopausal recently about my weight gain so they’ve really perked me up!

I tried today but it's a no from me. There was just too much material flapping around the lower half of the legs, they are a wide flare rather than a standard 'wide leg' I would say.

Nice fabric, and looked well made. I'm usually an 8, and the size 8 in these fitted nicely around the waist and hips, so for me they were true to size. I'm only 5' 1in though, and even the petite was too long, exacerbated by the width.
Worth a try though for 35 quid!

I should have taken photos sorry but the size 10 were better for me. Unfortunately , they’re just a bit too wide for me at the bottom, I felt like an abba tribute but give them a go and see what you think. I preferred the colour of the dark denim, they were lovely if that helps.

@OSTMusTisNTI do have a pet, a large furry Labrador but as I haven’t worn them around him, I can’t comment. Love the word “floof” btw.

You're right, they are more of a flare then a wide leg.
Re the lighter blue..after trying them on I’ve decided to keep them for wearing with a wedge sandal in the summer. They look good but not as good/slimming as the dark blue which are officially my Holy Grail of jeans.

Mine arrived and they're lovely - but I ordered long because the size chart said they're 79cm. Well, either my legs have shrunk or they're big old lying liars!

Peeved that I've had to pay another £2.50 to send them back. What's the betting the regular ones I've now ordered will turn out not to fit so well? 😬

Except for the stitching around the bottom, I have similar, 3 pairs-different
lengths/colours. I’m very much into wide leg jeans to hide my legs but I don’t find them very flattering so took a chance on Shein (from Vinted) flared stretch jeans. I’m that awkward size between a 12 and a 14, Took a chance on the M, which is normally a 10, but they’re so stretchy that they go on a treat. I think they’re incredidly flattering.

I'm glad you have jeans that you like. I personally do not like barrel leg- wide legs jeans on any one. I'm grateful that the low rise style that designers inflicted on women is over as well.

I like straight leg or boot cut, high rise, slim fitting the darker blue the better.

Why does everyone like these jeans with massive, massive bell-bottoms so much? Maybe they're nicer in real life, but on the model they're just horrible!

That's what I thought I was going to see when I clicked on the link! I'm probably really out of touch, but those truly enormous bell-bottoms look v. weird to me.

I bought these recently and they do look and feel nice. They come up really big though, I had to size down, but I find that a lot with Next.

I took a risk when I ordered them, I’ve never worn flares that are that flarey. I’d obviously gotten into a comfort zone. I’m well and truly out now!

I bought these before Xmas and love them! They are very flared at the bottom it has to be said but they fit a treat. Tempted to buy another pair in a different wash!

Is the weird wide hem at the bottom as obvious as it looks in the pictures? I've ordered some, as well as the wide leg jeggings. Lived in the skinny jeggings for the past 3 years but don't fancy them any more. I do need the stretch though. I bought some relaxed bootcut which are AMAZING, but the tummy is just too tight and they have no stretch. One day I'm going to do a sewing thing to relax the waist a bit.
Agree with all that wide leg when you are of robust stature can be chunkifying.

I should have said when I posted yesterday that I'm now 5'4 and weigh a little over 8 stone. That is 113 pounds according to my US scale, and a US size 4 in jeans.

Mine arrived today, they aren't as stretchy as other jeans I have from Next and they're quite a heavy denim. Definitely not my usual style but I like them.
