Wow! Today’s is a lovely surprise and I’ve never tried la mer before but often admired it. Looking forward to casually leaving this on my desk at the office - yayyy very luxe

@Allisnotlost1 - a DOD is a drawer of disappointment/doom!

Haha - thank you, excellent phrasing! I have a room of doom and a drawer of doom at home so I feel that.

Happy with today’s drawer. It’s also my birthday so I’m extra pleased when the BAC lives up to expectations today.

Buster27 · 22/12/2025 09:54

LOVE today's! Would never spend this much on a lip balm so feels like a real treat.

TragicMuse · 22/12/2025 10:07

Today’s is less exciting for me, mainly because I only like Blistex and have about 6 in reserve.

I get that it’s luxe and all that but I hate the feeling of petroleum jelly lip balms. And I don’t like having to use my finger in a pot - then I have to find something to clean up. Just not my favourite.

God I sound whingey!!

Ah well!

AnnieFrancais · 22/12/2025 10:11

Happy birthday @Allisnotlost1 !

Its much more balmy than jelly? It feels like the Trinny, just smooth and not "wet" at all

keepincool · 22/12/2025 10:18

Happy birthday @Allisnotlost1 🎂 I'm glad today's drawer isn't a DoD for you 🥳

The lip balm was one of the reasons I wanted the Liberty BAC. I'm very happy with this, although I haven't tried it yet. I'm another one who'll be nonchalantly flashing my La Mer lip balm whenever I can 😁

clary · 22/12/2025 10:25

Glad everyone likes today’s. This was one of my hmmmm products - obvs excited by the brand, but - a lip balm? Still I agree it’s a real treat and a bit of luxe (and flash when we use it - “oh this? Oh just a £65 lip balm, very basic”

ohthejoysoftoddler · 22/12/2025 10:28

Not something I'd be excited about, would prefer skincare. But, the reviews are excellent and my lips have been dried out over the last few months, so going to try and use it on the regs and see if it makes a difference!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 22/12/2025 11:15

I’ve just opened it and tried it. Took great pleasure in the unwrapping! It’s def more balmy than sticky / jelly (like Vaseline is). Took quite a few swipes of it to feel I had enough on my lips. It’s minty and tingly which I like but aware others may not!

Happy birthday too @Allisnotlost1 hope you have a lovely day full of beautiful La Mer lips!

EdinaMonsoon · 22/12/2025 11:37

Happy birthday @Allisnotlost1 🥂🍾

I was excited to see today’s treat but having read that it’s minty & tingly I am now feeling less excited. I used the Trinny Lip to Cheek a few times yesterday & by early evening my lips were incredibly dry & sore. I actually look like I have a cold sore (I definitely don’t). I also used it on my cheeks but had no reaction there so will continue to use it as a highlighter. It’s weird because I had the same reaction to the Trish McAvoy lipstick too. I usually wear Chanel Rouge de Coco balm & lipstick or Fenty Skin lip oil & have zero issues with either.

H3lloMums · 22/12/2025 12:18

They are both a bit drying on me too when others aren't @EdinaMonsoon - I won't stop using though - today's lip bam will be good accompaniment I hope which is flashy! Enjoyed the packaging today. Also got the replacement mascara. The brush is actually very good at curling straight lashes...

Hicupping · 22/12/2025 13:17

I'm using mine but I don't like putting fingers in it either. I've got a By Terry pot and that's barely had a dent made in because of the pot. Bit wasteful but I've got some qtips to use with it now to encourage use. I don't think it's anything special warranting the price. It's no better than my goat Neutrogena norwegian formula. I know some youtubers really rate it though.

whataguddle · 22/12/2025 13:30

you can get one for £10 on eBay they are not worth the money for a lip balm

IlovePond · 22/12/2025 13:38

Happy birthday @Allisnotlost1

Oh dear!

There is NO way I can put something minty/tingly on my lips again, (and no, CS haven’t come back to me about the TM lipstick issue😾)

I wish I had read the thread before ripping off the plastic packaging because now I probably won’t even be able to sell this on eBay 😿

I’m thoroughly fed up!

On a related note: I don’t ever put stuff marketed as blush/lip on my lips as it never ends well for me. I’m obviously allergic to something in some of these products. I have lots of lipsticks that I use without any problems, so haven’t a clue what causes issues for me sometimes.

Aww same here! I was very excited about my extra birthday treat! Happy birthday to you! 🥳

I am very happy with today’s!

I know I’ll love it because I bought this in my early twenties (along with the moisturiser)!

So that’s £65 added to the total (mine is 770.25 excluding bag, which I think they might be including actually).

Lip balm is an occasional use thing for me nowadays (I found the more I used it the more I needed it) so it will last a long time too!

My running total is a bit less at £690.75 (based on non-reduced Liberty pricing) but on either valuation they have a way to go! Today's lip balm is indulgent - but I think I could have spent £65 on something more exciting. All a bit meh for me I'm afraid.

Sunshineo · 22/12/2025 19:25

I love a lip balm and love La mer.

Happy birthday @Allisnotlost1and @spoeke🥳
I have a funny story!
I emailed Liberty CS about the shoddy dried out mascara, they sent a replacement but sent the Le Mer lip balm. I emailed them to let them know they had made a mistake- (at this point I didn’t know it was a calendar item)
they said not to worry- keep it and they will resend another mascara (which I received today and it’s not clumpy!)
I did suspect it would be a calendar item as I did wonder how on earth they accidentally sent that out by mistake! So now I have two Le Mer lip balms!!!!
I quite like it, certainly wouldn’t pay the price though! Eye watering!
