Happy birthday 🎉🎉 @Allisnotlost1 @spoeke

I love that @Pinkwineandpinksofa I’d say that’s a win!

I like the lip balm, very shocked at the price - who pays that much for lip balm?! 😱

redluckycat · 22/12/2025 22:50

I bought the lip balm 20+ years ago but it probably would have been less than £30 then! I can’t believe how much beauty products have gone up; I used to have a collection of Chanel lipsticks and they were only around £21 - it looks like they’ve doubled in price! I used to spend lots of my disposable income on beauty and fashion pre DC.

Allisnotlost1 · 23/12/2025 01:19

Thank you for birthday wishes, and a happy birthday to you too @spoeke !

I’ve used the La Mer throughout the day and agree it does need a few swipes to get a full coverage. It’s slightly tingly too but I like that.
I’m resisting opening 23 until I wake up…

Sunshineo · 23/12/2025 07:21

I love Vilhelm (I’ve got a couple of full size bottles). Not sure on this one yet but will see how it settles.

countdowntonap · 23/12/2025 07:25

i can definitely smell the fizz. Think I’ll wear it Christmas Day!

ohthejoysoftoddler · 23/12/2025 07:38

I really like the smell of this one.

Disappointed to have another fragrance though, and given the current price tally, I think a full size might have been appropriate!

IlovePond · 23/12/2025 07:40

Morning all. Today’s perfume is one I swapped out before December. Having already sprayed myself with this perfume in Liberty pre-purchase, I knew it wasn’t for me. I smelt as if I had poured half a can of lager over myself, (which was not what I was aiming for!)

It’s particularly disappointing for me as I really like Dear Polly from the same brand and the packaging is beautiful.

ohthejoysoftoddler · 23/12/2025 07:44

Oh I loved the dear polly, I would have really enjoyed a decent size of that.

imp2007 · 23/12/2025 07:45

Woke up super early this morning and hot footed it downstairs nearly as excitedly as I did on the first day this morning - then did chuckle to myself when I opened the drawer and it was a perfume!!! However I do love this brand and the perfume from them is something I generally look forward to in the calendar - like ilovepond Dear Polly is my favourite too. I wasn't sure when I first sprayed this one but it has settled down really nicely so is definitely a keeper!!! Two more drawers ............!

Housewife2010 · 23/12/2025 07:49

I loved getting a Vilhelm perfume today. I think it would have been ridiculous to have expected the full 50 ml size which costs £145! I like having several good sized travel scents as we have had in this AC rather than 1 or 2 full sizes which we may not like.

ohthejoysoftoddler · 23/12/2025 07:52

@Housewife2010 I should have been clearer. When I said full size, I meant the smallest size they sell on liberty directly, which is 20ml for £88. I don't think that would have been at all ridiculous seeing the gap we are trying to close on advertised price vs contents so far.

IlovePond · 23/12/2025 07:55

Re: Yesterday’s lip balm which I can’t use but stupidly unwrapped. I woke up this morning with the ‘bright’ idea of using it on my cracked heels. Better than it going in the bin, I suppose🙀

What a stunning bottle! I like it - can’t decide if it’ll be this or Zephirine on Christmas Day for me. Both feel very festive.

I went perfume shopping (the irony) for a gift yesterday and lots of brands now do a 10ml as a retail size (or even 8ml for liberty). So this didn’t feel ungenerous to me, quite the opposite.

redluckycat · 23/12/2025 08:02

I’m happy with another perfume but don’t drink alcohol at all so the description of the scent isn’t appealing, and now that’s all I can smell after a first spray. I’ve only just sprayed it though so will see what it’s like in a while.

AnnieFrancais · 23/12/2025 08:03

Another one for my DD! Lovely bottle and packaging, I have the ones from the last few years but I don't love them as I do two of the others; I have to ADORE a perfume to wear it and two (can't remember the names, the square bottle and the dark blue boxed one, not Bibbi) I do which is rare to find so Im really pleased:
She texted me yesterday asking whats happened, shes just realised there have been no daily photos of the joys of the BAC /: it hasn't inspired that this year:
I know what one of the drawers will be but excited to see whats in the other, I really hope its a skin care treat:
I was hoping for an eye cream and a moisturiser (that little tub is long gone):
I gave my husband the argan oil for his dry hair and used a bit to show him how: Later I saw myself in a mirror and thought wow, my hair! So I've taken it back haha: Need to find some more for him

IlovePond · 23/12/2025 08:05

@AnnieFrancais - I’m laughing at the very idea of my DH using hair oil - he’s still confused by the small bottle of shampoo I gave him from earlier in the calendar because it’s not Radox 2 in 1 🙈

Does anyone remember the year we got three amazing things in one drawer? I remember product being the full sized exfolikate by Kate Somerville

spoeke · 23/12/2025 08:07

Thanks for the birthday love 🥰

I am very happy with today’s drawer. I LOVE the DS & Durga one (and have worn it every day since opening that drawer) and this is another winner for me. The other perfumes (bar Granado which I swapped and the Bibbi which I love) I’m still on the fence about, might pop one of them in my mum’s stocking.

I do agree that overall I was hoping for a few more full sized products (obviously not on the perfume front, though there the 7.5ml size felt slightly disappointing). But overall I’m still very happy and have had a great experience with CS when things went a bit wrong for some drawers.

redluckycat · 23/12/2025 08:10

My current list. There are a number of items that Liberty don’t sell in the size we have but some of them are available on other sites (e.g Bibbi travel size), so I took the prices from there on the day. Today I split the cost of the 3x10ml travel set by 3.

Forgot to say - the shampoo and conditioner drawers were the biggest let down for me. It would’ve been nice to have a matching shampoo and conditioner in one drawer and then maybe something else in another… like a candle?

Mine too; he won’t even use conditioner and uses shower gel to wash his face 😂

ohthejoysoftoddler · 23/12/2025 08:12

I would think the candle is still to come, that's usually a dead cert. We are missing a few of the usual big brands still, I'll be happy if one of those crops up tomorrow.

I agree we should have had a matching shampoo and conditioner set.

I’d hate a candle though - I don’t use them so they’d be totally wasted on me and they are not beauty!

IlovePond · 23/12/2025 08:16

@redluckycat 😹 mine too!

£9 for that poor excuse for a mascara is such a joke! 😅
