Evening! Just setting up the next thread in case the other one fills up!

Yes, I like it when the royals don't look too formal with regular daytime engagements.

Harry and Meghan are in Jordan but mostly in very casual clothes so far.

Indianrollerbird · 25/02/2026 14:34

Meghan’s hair is far too long. Needs about 6 inches off.

Indianrollerbird · 25/02/2026 15:02

At her age, she should go for a nice pixie cut. It’s the law for royals, judging by the last 5 pages.

I don't know if any of those styles upthread would suit either Kate or Meghan! 😁

God forbid they might have chosen styles and lengths they like! But if Catherine’s is too long for a mid 40s royal woman, then so is Meghan’s. She’s doomed to look like Deidre Barlow, as all respectable, middle aged women should!

justasking111 · 25/02/2026 15:13

They're wittering on about creased linen trousers. Get over it I say. I bought a gorgeous linen shirt which drove me mad. Collar, cuffs Etc creased to hell. Hallelujah I caught it on something and it ripped badly. Was so glad to bin it. There's another one halfway out as well.

I do like Meghan shoes what I've seen of them.

Love the jacket detail. She's wearing my hairdressers cartier bracelet

I saw "New Look" and thought - that's budget friendly! 😄

I like the jacket because it's not quite double breasted. It could be nipped in a little bit more at the waist, imo. Nice texture and she suits white.

That's like when I use those apps - select the clothes and it looks great but then not so good on 😂

Adding bulk around the waist area with pocket details (as pretty as they are) isn’t great when you are short bodied and the jacket already looks too wide, ime. I have a very similar body shape, and it’s hard to dress. Double breasted is a big no for me.

Maireas · 25/02/2026 15:47

Yes, I think we generally don't favour double breasted on this thread, with few exceptions! I think it can be unforgiving. This jacket is cut with that slightly on the angle, which I like, but it needs to be taken in just under the bust, imo.

Normally I do too, but they don’t help an outfit that all looks far too oversized, baggy and yes, creased. I’ sure it’s comfortable - but that’s all it has to recommend it.

I liked the white separates she wore earlier, though.

Meghan looks great in the white blazer - very stylish. Personally not keen on the linen trousers but I can see they're probably both practical and comfortable. Looking forward to seeing what else she wears on this trip.

I'm finding the comments on the hair interesting.

There's a flavour of 1950s 'Older woman shouldn't have her hair down' about it. I suspect that's not remotely what posters are meaning, but comments like 'She's not 8' sound like it.

Do we think there are still acceptable hairstyles for public figures?

Yes it’s most odd the obsession that she should cut her hair, do posters think Meghan should cut her hair off as well seeing as they are both middle aged women?

HollyhockDays · 25/02/2026 17:30

From the photos it looks like she wore three outfits in one day! I liked the white outfit although the jacket looked at bit warm. The casual outfits look meh. I don’t like the big white shirt and those trousers are too long and the pleat isn’t flattering.

I really dont see anything sinister in this. It’s a Style and Beauty thread. Some of us are going to prefer hair at different lengths and we don't have to agree.

( although I hate the phrase “ pixie cut”!)

So do you think Meghan should cut her hair to a much shorter length then?

Sidebeforeself · 25/02/2026 17:33

No, why do you ask?

Maireas · 25/02/2026 17:35

It's interesting that really long hair has become fashionable, not just for young women. I'm seeing more older women with long hair. As we said upthread, it seems to have been a convention that "older" women should have long hair cut.

Considering you made a point of replying to my post about hair length, it’s a perfectly valid question to ask you……

I replied to you because you were asking whhether people thought the same about Meghans hair and mentioned that posters were obsessed. I was just pointing out that I think people will have all sorts of different views for different reasons based on what they think are stylish.

Lunde · 25/02/2026 17:47

Meghan really needs to hire a seamstress as the trousers seem to wear her rather than the other way around - so huge, baggy and over long

Although it's possible she has loaned her tour wardrobe so can't alter them
