It is Erdem! It wasn't popular on here at the time, as I recall.

I think she’d had the Erdem monstrosity altered too and it was a rewear ( as was No 5). Or she had it altered afterwards. Anyway, neither need seeing again in my opinion!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 23/02/2026 15:55

Like many Erdems, I like the fabric but not the style.

gluenotsoup · 23/02/2026 16:12

Also white without gloves

23doorsdown · 23/02/2026 17:07

There's a flavour of 1950s 'Older woman shouldn't have her hair down' about it

Im 40 & I think my hair is a similar length to Kate & it’s wavy. I think long hair can look great on any age. As I said it’s the styling I take issue with…it reminds me of a Judges wig.

23doorsdown · 23/02/2026 17:14

@justasking111

Either the white (without gloves) the neckline is really flattering or the lilac one, like the top
part and the colour.

The white and gold is not good and whilst I like the darker colour of the black floral it’s not a nice shape.

MoreMaths · 23/02/2026 17:37

I like the lilac with the white sash best - it’s very classic Kate. I liked the white and gold one when she initially wore it abroad with the sheer sleeves but less keen on the reworked version. I also loved the dark green dress she wore when she was expecting Louis.

The green dress is lovely, I also like the necklace.

I'm finding the comments on the hair interesting.

There's a flavour of 1950s 'Older woman shouldn't have her hair down' about it. I suspect that's not remotely what posters are meaning, but comments like 'She's not 8' sound like it.

Do we think there are still acceptable hairstyles for public figures?

I think it’s more that the luxuriant and very long hair doesn’t suit her tiny frame, and isn’t really fashionable these days anyway.
IMO that dress would have looked fab on someone with Kate’s figure and a pixie cut.

KnickerlessParsons · 23/02/2026 18:54

Catherine Atkinson would also suit a pixie cut.

MoreMaths · 23/02/2026 19:07

A quick Google gave me these images of Kate with shorter hair. I don’t think she’ll go short anytime soon (and certainly not just because we’d all love to have something to chat about) but she has a few options if she ever decides to have the chop…

Almost all the teenage girls I pass everyday which is a lot (I drive past 4 secondary schools on the way to/from work) have very long hair so. I've noticed that several naturally curly haired friends in their 30s and 40s who have straightened their hair every day for as long as I have known them (15+ years) are now wearing it curly for nights out so neither long or curly seem unfashionable to me.

Most of those are bloody awful and would send me running at the sight of scissors!

Maireas · 23/02/2026 19:19

I taught an A level cramming course recently - all the girls had very long hair, most with those curls, bar one!

Awful. Not one looks good.

I like the dark green dress just posted, and also her hair there. The mock ups are interesting, my favourite possible of those is the one in the top right with the patterned top. Having said I think it’s too much and too long currently, I think they are all too short and wouldn’t suit her hair type. It’s a bit like mine, and wouldn’t sit well in any of those I don’t think. It needs some length to stop it bouncing out of a forced style if you see what I mean. Hence, pregnant hair was my favourite length for her. Not that she cares what I think 😆

23doorsdown · 23/02/2026 19:37

She looks amazing in the green.

Those mock up short styles are questionable!

Not straightening your hair/wearing it curly/natural has been a thing for years. However straight shiny is on its way back, the whole 90s/00s thing.

eggandonion · 23/02/2026 19:57

I thought Diana had amazing short hair. Although she might have had hair like mine that doesn't like to be told what to do. Kate has wonderful hair too!

Not around here it hasn't. I have rammrod straight hair so I always notice when someone I thought was a fellow straighty outs themselves as a naturally curly girl. It's only been a few months (probably since last spring) that my wedded to their GHDs friends have embraced their curls.

Kate obviously has a natural curl which would be a risk of frizz in any humidity if her hair was short so I don't think she will ever go short short.

She's so beautiful in that green dress - can't remember which baby she was pregnant with then.
