Evening! Just setting up the next thread in case the other one fills up!

I think the colour is a bit strong for her, she's very fair and it's a bit overwhelming. Although I'm glad she's wearing a trouser suit because I think it's a bit more modern. The cut could be better, although I like the contrast with the white top.
Her hair is nice, though, that's a more flattering style.

I agree the colour is a bit strong and also the suit isn’t a great fit. It’s hard to tell if it is purple or blue. It seems to change in the different photos🤷‍♀️. Rather unfortunately as well for me an ad has appeared at the bottom of the article for a vacuum cleaner in the same sort of shade 😂

Maireas · 17/01/2026 11:25

Oh dear! 😂!
Yes, maybe a more muted shade, and the jacket slightly more fitted.

OP posts:
Maireas · 17/01/2026 11:27

The jacket looks fine when she's sitting down, maybe it just needs a button higher than the waist.

I like Dairy Milk purple but I think Mathilde is best off leaving that to Mary or Letizia and choosing softer shades for herself.

deeahgwitch · 17/01/2026 13:10

Love “Dairy Milk purple” @KiIIingMeDeftly - a perfect description.
I think Mathilde needed a deeper coloured lipstick.

gingercat02 · 17/01/2026 18:11

I'm just about to go out in my Dairy Milk coat. I love that shade 💜

In royal news, I see that Princess Irene of Greece died last week and Queen Sofia and the Spanish royals have attended her memorial service. Sounds like she was an interesting woman - a concert pianist and amateur archaeologist with an interest in aliens!

Maireas · 18/01/2026 13:49

I saw that she had died, what an interesting woman, as you say!

Very nice in the red and her shoes look great too

KiIIingMeDeftly · 18/01/2026 15:55

Sophie looks good! The dress is much more flattering than the trouser suits she's worn recently.

deeahgwitch · 18/01/2026 18:35

I’m a bit like Sophie in that, if I like a style, I will buy the same thing in different colours. Obviously not Beulah prices though. 😀
The yellow is lovely on her.

I like a certain style of dress I've realised. I've bought from sea salt, white company, fat face, etc. tiny pattern flared from the waist, slightly stretchy. It suits me.

MoreMaths · 19/01/2026 08:19

I like Sophie in that red Beulah dress and I’m also guilty of buying something in a couple of colours if I like it. (Although what tends to happen is that 6 months later I wish I’d bought more than one and it’s no longer available. 😂)

Here’s another picture of Zara in Australia wearing Rebecca Vallance. I don’t tend to like the high collars but she looks really good here.

Zara does look nice. The length is flattering and the colour is nice on her. I think she can carry off the high neckline and the sleeves aren't too full.

Its pretty much exactly the same shapes and idea as the lovely Mary Poppins outfit she had for a BP garden party in 2024, which is one of my all-time favourites on her.

I was lucky enough to be at that garden party and I saw her. It was a beautiful outfit and she looked radiant. She was so happy and chatty to everyone.

This garden party outfit?

The very one, @Choux! I love it - it's stylish, elegant and playful, and it both suits and fits her perfectly.

Eaumyword · 19/01/2026 19:54

Love that Mary Poppins dress on Zara, so pretty!
The deeper pink lacy dress is stunning and the most beautiful colour. I'd leave out the high collar, but is otherwise fabulous.

HelenaWilson · 19/01/2026 20:54

I remember thinking at the time that when she was posing with the umbrella she looked as if she was about to break into a 'Singing in the Rain' routine. Mike and a couple of other blokes were there to act as a chorus line.

The pink is lovely, I love the way the skirt falls.

They practised curling as well!
