Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

It’s so annoying!

sylv165 · 10/11/2025 18:44

Nightmare. I am between a size 6 and 8 and am now being shown everything between a size 4 and size 10. Almost too annoying to bother tbh

Pinkladyapplepie · 10/11/2025 18:52

I just tried to look for size 14, I thought just have to be careful as no way would a 12 fit, brought up a nice size 10 dress. Like someone else said it will save me a fortune as I give up😂

PeonyBulb · 10/11/2025 19:16

This makes sense

I just had to contact a seller to confirm sizes as it suddenly showed a completely different size along side the size in their title - they didn’t match up in the slightest

WhatsitWiggle · 10/11/2025 19:30

What a shit show. I've just updated all my listing's. The size 6 and 8 stuff is fine, but the 12 was now classed as 14-16 or something daft.

No-one will know what the correct size is - if you want a size 14 and search for that, you're going to get the 'old' M which was smaller.

It's messed it right up for buyers and therefore sellers.

I was just about to list more stuff, I'm wondering if ebay would be better now?

hmmnotreallysure · 10/11/2025 19:32

Just tried to fill in a feedback form but the link wouldn't work, makes me wonder if they've disabled it.

Vinted chatbot says

Thanks for sharing these details. I understand your frustration about the changes in how sizes are displayed for your favourites and items for sale. Based on the information available, we use international size charts to help standardise sizing across different brands and countries. For example, a UK size 10 is generally considered a Medium (M), and a UK size 12 is a Large (L). However, the exact measurements can vary by brand.

If you’re seeing size ranges like 10-12 or 14-16 instead of single sizes, it may be due to a recent update to better align with international sizing standards. This is meant to help buyers and sellers find the right fit more easily, but I understand it can be confusing if you’re used to the previous system.

If you’re unsure about what a size means (for example, whether M is a 12 or a 14-16), you can refer to our size chart:

  • M = UK 10, EU 38, US 6
  • L = UK 12, EU 40, US 8
  • XL = UK 14, EU 42, US 10

If you need to be certain about an item’s fit, it’s always a good idea to check with the seller for exact measurements.

I don’t have information about a specific announcement regarding this update, but I can help you interpret the new sizing or answer any other questions you have. Would you like more help with understanding the new sizing, or do you want to discuss how to update your listings?

HighlyUnusual · 10/11/2025 19:45

I think they have a one international size fits all policy now, overlooking the fact that body shapes, types and weight are very different. I regularly visit a country where the above sizing, so M= a 10 and XL= a 14 would be right, it's very difficult to find clothes to fit there as people are smaller in their hips and general torso as well as tending to weigh less. In China/Japan, the sizing is even more different.

I guess Vinted want one international marketplace, and us Brits are the losers as our sizing is localized and makes sense within our own country!

hmmnotreallysure · 10/11/2025 19:47

Might have to go back to eBay then, not sold on there in years, but really hate the new sizing

camperjam · 10/11/2025 19:50

Omg, I hadn't realised this. My size 16 stuff is now XXL size 20!

Teaforthetotal · 10/11/2025 20:02

camperjam · 10/11/2025 19:50

Omg, I hadn't realised this. My size 16 stuff is now XXL size 20!

Some of my size 12 stuff is showing as 20-22! Some of my stuff is voluminous silhouette but size 10-12.I think they've used some kind of AI tool to apply the new size and it hasn't worked out.

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 20:29

But the fundamental issue is that brand sizing doesn’t give a shit what Vinted’s aspirations are for a unified sizing policy. They’re a reselling site - they need to cater for the infinite possible brand / sizing / fit combinations that might exist. No amount of faffing with how S/M/L corresponds to numbered sizing will change that. The only logical thing as a buyer is to be able to filter on a single size (S or 10, say). And if buyers have a hard time using their site sellers will just go elsewhere.

Im waiting for eBay to capitalise on this with a temporary cut in selling fees on garments 🤣

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 20:30

Oh, I’ve just realised there are no fees on eBay! Off I go

WorriedRelative · 10/11/2025 20:39

FFS what a bloody mess. I have just had to change all the stuff that I listed as a size 16 that had overnight changed to a size 24-26!

I suppose this will reduce my spending, but won't help me declutter my wardrobe.

Seriously why can't we just list the size the label says whether that be a dress size, a S/M/L, or an EU size?

SuperBlondie28 · 10/11/2025 20:51

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 20:30

Not sure if you meant no fees for buying or selling on Ebay. But gotta be so precise with your listings if selling on Ebay. Buyers will make up some rubbish that isn't true. You end up refusing your item back, which you can as a private seller. They will most likely get a refund and keep the item as Ebay always side with the buyer. I'm never sure if Ebay then chase the seller for the money.

Other scenario: You refuse the item back, they may damage it and make it unsellable and then return out of spite. Oh and you'll need to pay the return postage if they claim item wasn't as described and refund them for the item and the original postage.

Ebay full of scammers !! Probably Vinted is too. But i think Ebay worse as buyers know 'the system' too well by now.

OverNotOver · 10/11/2025 20:56

TeatimeForTheSoul · 10/11/2025 18:41

Is there a way to take all my items down, but saving the associated info (don’t want to have to redo everything)?

The new sizing thing is making the effort too much for a few £ per item. If it doesn’t get sort I may just swap to eBay anyway.

I’ve just put my account in to holiday mode for now. Suspends all my listings without deleting anything.

LouLuBelles · 10/11/2025 21:04

Oh my oh my. The sizing was always a little off on Vinted but what idiocy is this new update? Seriously, why did no one at the company flag the flaws and inaccuracies in this? They’ve made everything super sized by number with no relation to UK size s m l xl etc
I hope they revert this asap

FamingolosForDays · 10/11/2025 21:44

Is this why my vinted is suddenly telling me I want everything in size 14? Im an 8/10!

blondiepigtails · 10/11/2025 15:14

Yes, the sensible sellers do, which is great. The problem is now when you want to search for a specific size, they now put a Small as an 8-10 etc so that Next dress you like in a 10 now brings up all the 8s as well. Very tedious

Yes, and if you’re a 10 in some brands and 12 in others and you’re looking for, say, a grey tulle skirt, you have to search both S (8-10) and M (12-14) and fully half the results will be too big or too small.

It’s even worse when it comes to the personalisation algorithm. My home screen is now full of size 8s (but you can’t see they’re not 10s without clicking into each one individually). All Inwant to do is filter out all the irrelevant sizes, but noooooooo…

Thanks for this.

shame they say they won’t reply!!!!!!
have they posted anything about this shambles?
they don’t appear to use social media.

pinkpony88 · 10/11/2025 22:44

Oh I thought I just had a blip on mine! Was so confused 🤣

SquishyGloopyBum · 10/11/2025 22:47

This has given me the rage tonight.

searching is impossible. Why can’t they just let you pick a size to match the label- that’s all that was needed.

KeepYaHeadUp · 10/11/2025 20:30

EBay is still a bigger nightmare for sellers. I only buy there now, I stopped selling years ago. I recently bought a dress, it arrived fine and all was good. Except EBay’s ‘integrated tracked post’ wasn’t updating (it still hasn’t) to show it had been delivered which meant EBay wouldn’t release the money to the seller. Despite me confirming that it had arrived and everything was fine. The seller was seething and I felt so sorry for her. The tracking seems to be very dodgy, much worse than Vinted’s.

mcatmay · 11/11/2025 05:25

It seems like our general ire has had impact. I sent a complaint in and received the following message:

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand your frustration with the new sizing options and agree that it was much clearer when you could simply select "size 10," "size 12," or "size 10-12."

We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. I can confirm that we have received a high volume of comments regarding the difficulty of the new sizing system.

Our team is actively reviewing this input and working on potential improvements to make the sizing process easier and more accurate for our community.

We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing your sales and searches. Thank you for your patience!

Best regards,

Ahmed || Team Vinted
