Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

Thanks for the heads up on this OP. I've just resized the few things I had on Vinted.

Luckily I have a pile of clothes to put on that I meant to do yesterday but ended up being stuck to the sofa and couldn't be arsed, glad I decided to be a sloth now!

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 10/11/2025 16:21

Thanks, OP, for heads up. Have messaged them and twice got exactly the same robotic reply, telling me to ensure I choose the correct sizing for my items!!

I've messaged again and will continue to do so until (ha!) I get a response that is not auto generated and actually addresses the issue.

This is utterly stupid.

letshavetea · 10/11/2025 16:23

I’m sure they’ll take action when sales and purchases plummet! It’s so incredibly annoying.

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 10/11/2025 16:28

Im not re listing my items or changing the size. Im in holiday mode and putting my time into looking at alternatives. Account is currently in holiday mode to hide my items whilst i plan an alternative site.
My dd uses DPop. Not sure my clothes are trendy enough but considering that for selling.

Ive never had an eBay account so considering that too for both buying and selling.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

TheFormidableMrsC · 10/11/2025 16:31

Oh my goodness I’ve just checked . Absolute shitshow. They’ve put a message on saying “new improved sizing”. I give up. I can’t be arsed changing everything now.

SuperBlondie28 · 10/11/2025 16:34

As a seller, I think the new sizing is better. However, I'd prefer individual sizing ie 10, 12,14 etc. Plus a S, M, L etc option.

I'm 12 to 14 myself. I would never go into a shop where I shop and try a L or XL sweater on. It would be too big. It was ridiculous that Vinted formally had 14 as XL.

Yes, it's annoying editing my listings. I've whacked the account on holiday mode for now. I think Vinted should have given more notice definitely.

I always photograph labels and if buying, look for labels.

Magnoliasunrise · 10/11/2025 16:36

Just got back from work and saw this message - what a total arse. Am I supposed to go back through hundreds of things that I have listed and change each size? Really don't have that sort of time in my life. Is there an option to simply message the buyer when they purchase something and tell them what the correct size is or am I oversimplifying?

JazzyBBBG · 10/11/2025 16:36

Oh I thought it was me imagining it, didn't think it was a wider problem!

strongermummy · 10/11/2025 16:36

wtf have they done?! After weight loss i am slowly replacing my wardrobe. I have lots of clothes saved as favourites on Vinted and the sizing has gone to pot today.

I was about to list loads of my too big clothes but I cannot see the point now if their sizing algorithm has gone nuts.

back to eBay I suppose. Or the selling part of Olio.

so annoying. Just as I get used to Vinted!!

JazzyBBBG · 10/11/2025 16:38

Also the last 3 items I ordered have been cancelled!

WinterPalace · 10/11/2025 16:38

MyAcornWood · 10/11/2025 15:17

It’s frankly bloody ridiculous. What is so hard about just listing numerical sizes and S/M/L as separate options and making it clear you’re to list the items as it states on the label?! I’ve just hidden all my items for sale as they’ve gone completely bloody haywire.

I've always wondered this! I don't think it's necessarily bad to have people select sizes from a dropdown list, but to conjoin two types made no sense (s/m/l or numbers).

Greenship · 10/11/2025 16:42

What utter madness. I normally search for items size 10 and 12 but it would seem now I will have to search for small and medium, including 4 different sizes.

outofideas2 · 10/11/2025 16:42

Only had five things for sale so I've updated the sizing... now waiting to see if Vinted revert back to old sizes and I have to amend my listings again!😬

strongermummy · 10/11/2025 16:48

Does anyone have the link to where I can send a complaint to Vinted?
they no longer use Twitter
and their Vinted Instagram automates a response directing me to their Help centre. Which is useless.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 10/11/2025 16:50

I was about to list loads of my too big clothes but I cannot see the point now if their sizing algorithm has gone nuts.

Idiocy of why not just have single sizing as per label aside, I don't think it's actually quite so much of a problem for new listings - they'll be listed with the new system and presumably sensibly searchable. It's the stuff that's already on there that will be haywire.

Teaforthetotal · 10/11/2025 16:53

Thanks for sharing, I don't have many items listed but they seem to be affected. I really don't want to go in and change them,I hope they change back!

FaithHopeCarnage · 10/11/2025 16:56

More thanks for the heads up. I’ve a few things for sale but have heard nothing from Vinted at all. Luckily I always include a photo of the label, showing sizing, and if label states S/M/L I include the relevant size (10/12/ etc and measurements from the website), so the listings themselves are OK. However as they’re not going to show up on any search in the relevant size category, I’m still going to have to edit them all. Really annoyed at Vinted for not letting me know themselves.

Cherrysoup · 10/11/2025 17:13

Thanks for the thread, was just wondering why all my saved size 14s were suddenly 20s! Might just delete my for sale items, I can’t be bothered to work out what they want for the sizes. Painful.

LadyWiddiothethird · 10/11/2025 17:33

It’s infuriating,I only buy not sell.I am a size 14,not going to waste time piddling about sorting through 12-14!So no more vinted for me for the time being.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/11/2025 17:44

Well this is going to save me a lot of money 🤣

I have never understood why you couldn’t just pick the size of the item 10/12/14 or SML or however it was labeled and then the buyer can decide whether it’s a fit or not based on the shop/style etc.

fudgesmummy · 10/11/2025 17:44

Is anyone waiting a couple of days to change the sizes on their listings just in case Vinted changes back to the old method?
I’ve got over 100 items of clothing for sale……😡

TeatimeForTheSoul · 10/11/2025 17:47

What a shambles!
Mine seem to have converted to EU sizes. What’s the point if that when most women look for their UK size.

Arewesureitisntbedtime · 10/11/2025 17:47

Thanks for this. I've made sure to add the actual size to the listing title for the few items I have on there at the moment. I think if I buy anything on there I'm going to be checking for photos of the items size label!

Theonlyfatmiddleagedwomannotonmonjaro · 10/11/2025 18:18

This has caused lotsnof different issues.
Sellers unsure how to listnornif they should amend now or wait.
Buyers who want say a size 14 are currently bombardedbwith everything from.a 12 to a size 20/22 because most sellers havnt yet amended their items inline with the new sizing, but some have. The default is the larger sized items.
Even when this resolved and tbh, there will be some hangover for ever because not EVERY seller will ever get around to updating and there already is a load of dormant sellers., from nownonly you can never just search size 14 (9,10,12 etc). It will forever be mixed in with itsnpaired sized ....and all the hangover and unamended accounts.

Shopping on hinted has overnight become really un user friendly. Searching a size 14 green dress.....fml, 20 zillion dresses appear in a wide range of sizes. Its totally overwhelming. Who wants to browse clothes that wont fit them? Who has the time to browse through that many things?

Im a seller and a shopper. Sellers have the easier deal on this (still crap) ..but buyers are fucked.

TeatimeForTheSoul · 10/11/2025 18:41

Is there a way to take all my items down, but saving the associated info (don’t want to have to redo everything)?

The new sizing thing is making the effort too much for a few £ per item. If it doesn’t get sort I may just swap to eBay anyway.
