Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

Do people really put such daft descriptions? If the label says 16 but it comes up small, I would put the actual garment measurements in the listing, as a seller. And possibly some information about the specific brand’s sizing.

Mind you, I’ve seen so many listings where the photos are blurry and too close so you can’t see the whole garment. And then no description other than “nice dress” or similar. So I guess I can believe people being so woolly about the sizing!

Yes. I always report this to Vinted because it really annoys me.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2025 21:19

@SilenceInsideoh thanks, I will try that. I think not being able to search by colour would have finally finished off my vinted habit

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 12/11/2025 21:22

This is completely crazy - it's impossible to find the right size.

I only discovered it for buying few months ago. V sad..

Also I am now going to have to sell my stuff on eBay which takes much longer I think

😭

Maybe you can put "Size 10 Green Dresses" in the search box?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2025 21:36

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I think that only picks up if someone has included those details in their listing title. I liked being able to search for eg. Sequin T-shirts and filter by the colours I would like.

heartsinvisiblefury · 13/11/2025 07:23

It’s eBay for me now after this shit show. Vinted customer service is shit and now this. Not good at all.

DiamandaTheGreat · 13/11/2025 08:21

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2025 20:57

Don’t know if anyone has previously posted this, but it also looks like you can no longer filter by colour in searches either!

Colour filter still looks normal for me, would be very annoyed if they got rid of that!!

reversingdumptruckwithnotyreson · 13/11/2025 10:42

Whoever decided this stupid update needs booting. Vinted has really jumped the shark lately.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 13/11/2025 10:50

@DiamandaTheGreat it seems that you have to select categories to see colours, it doesn’t work if you just search for it. So for example I was a sequin T-shirt, if i put that into the search bar I can search by colour, but if I select women, categories, clothing, T-shirts etc and then put sequin T-shirt into the search I can then filter by colour.

What a faff. Vinted made a lot of money out of me purely by being easy and by making it very easy to find things I like. They will lose me very quickly, I’m terrible fickle.

So you think a 10 is a medium and a 12 is a large?

Fluffyjumpertime · 13/11/2025 14:43

So you think a 10 is a medium and a 12 is a large?

As a size 10 I do not want to wade through size 8s looking for the size I need.

YouHaveAnArse · 13/11/2025 15:58

Crikey. I was annoyed enough with having to put in both 'L' and '16' when I wanted to search brands that size S, M, L etc and having to wade through all the 14s that won't fit; with the people who list as one size and then the description says 'size 12 but fits like a large' with no measurements to explain what that means; with my shoe size bringing up kids' shoes even if I filtered it to women only; with people listing things under the wrong brand or seemingly using sizes at random when they can't find the one they want.

But this is going to make searching for things even more dogshit.

It's not even great for non-clothing, either - I was searching for camera film on there and it gave me pages and pages of VHS tapes. (And you can't search by brand with camera stuff because people mispell them, or put the wrong one down.)

Their customer-service is basically non-existent so I doubt any feedback will change things.

YouHaveAnArse · 13/11/2025 16:00

Oh yeah - and how fucking annoying it is that you can't filter trousers etc by leg length. What am I wanting with short or medium?

evilharpy · 13/11/2025 16:27

Fluffyjumpertime · 13/11/2025 14:43

So you think a 10 is a medium and a 12 is a large?

I really don't think you can reliably group numbered sizes into S/M/L etc, it varies so much by shop. I'm an 8 and a 10 is too big for me. I fit XS in some shops like M&S but S in others like Primark or Zara, which would make a 10 either S or M. But if I search for XS I would also get 4s and 6s which would be too small, and a size 10 searching for S will also get 8s which will be too small, and if they search for M they'll get 12-14 which will drown them. It just makes no sense to group them.

YouHaveAnArse · 13/11/2025 18:06

Yeah, eBay gives you the option to select both, as some brands only use S/M/L, and others (like Joanie) use both.

Joanie's size guide puts their L at a 16/18, which made searching for them on Vinted a pain as loads of people would list them as different things because Vinted thought a L was a size 14. (Also, confused that another poster says nobody in the UK classes a 20/22 as XL - Joanie do, Lands End do, Tu at Sainsburys do...)

There’s not a chance a size 20/22 would fit in a Joanie or Tu XL?!?!

AllTheChaos · 14/11/2025 08:58

Depends on their sizing I guess, Op? I was a size 18 (34” waist), so a size 20 would be a 36” waist. Would that fit a Joanne size 20?

itsnothingoriginal · 14/11/2025 17:31

Ah just clocked that they've opened up Vinted sales to the American market. That explains the changes then.

They've slightly chucked their UK users under the bus to do it though 🙄

Not sure how I feel about selling to the US??

ContentedAlpaca · 14/11/2025 17:54

SilenceInside · 12/11/2025 10:10

@HundredMilesAnHour I don't really care if it's a letter or a number, as long as it's a single size. It's the two-size band that is infuriating, as you can't filter out the 50% of the search results that are the wrong size. If I pick 12-14 in the search filter, I am getting mainly size 12s which are totally irrelevant to me as I want size 14 only. And at the moment there are lots of size 10 as well, given that most people haven't updated their listings yet.

I'm not even finding it's 50%. I seem to be clicking on at least 4 size 8s for every size 10 that I'm looking for.

Yes I imagine that’s the reason. I think US sizes are 2 sizes bigger than in the UK (e.g a US size 8 would be a 12 here)?

How will that work with postage, on ebay its 30£ postage for items of clothing

OverNotOver · 14/11/2025 19:59

I saw this on Instagram, posted by someone who had complained to Vinted about the resizing. I can imagine what feedback they’ll get!

I don’t know how I feel about shipping stuff to the US. Doesn’t feel especially sustainable

Totally agree - the reason I enjoy Vinted is that it feels like swapping clothes with someone else who is having a bit of a clear out, low prices, reasonably sustainable. I cannot fathom why anyone in USA would want my old bits and I certainly wouldn’t purchase and pay (who sets the exchange rates??) for postage from overseas. Why would I?? This feels really weird for Vinted which marketed themselves originally as a way to prevent stuff going to landfill
