Thanks for the welcome. I definitely need to be in this thread with the number of unused/half used products in my drawers.

have just scuppered it all though by signing up to Liberty beauty drop and then buying something for Clarins just to get the free 11 samples. 😂

I have however made the decision not to buy a beauty advent calendar this year. Instead I am going to ask DH to fill one that I’ve saved from a previous year.

To go in it I have the model recommends beauty box, the latest liberty drop and the clarins 11 small samples. I’ve deliberately not really looked at them so it’ll be more of a surprise opening the calendar. Hence getting DH to fill it for me.

Peridot1 · 13/11/2025 15:41

I went through my stash drawer - well the one with full size products- and took out things that were purchased in the last couple of months from a CB edit and a Caroline Hirons kit. It’s actually not too bad.

2 cleansers
1 facial wash
2 serums
1 night time serum/treatment
1 retinoid
4 exfoliating treatments/serums
2 eye creams
2 hydrating toners/essence/mists
1 SPF

I do also have a drawer of travel/mini sizes which I have been reducing. And a stash of face masks. Plus a stash of hand creams.

Am going to start a Sunday afternoon soak in the bath with a book and use a face mask followed by body lotion ritual through the winter.

Am not adding any new purchases to the stash drawer until I’ve used up what’s there.

But even with the new stuff that is coming I know I’ll go through most of the current stash over the next few months.

Peridot1 · 13/11/2025 17:35

In case it’s not clear the list is what’s left after I’ve taken out the more recent purchases. And before I open a beauty advent calendar plus another edit and a kit….. So it is a fairly substantial stash. But I will make sure I use up the older stuff before the new. Some of the older stuff is last year’s Liberty advent calendar and some other kits.

That's amateur level @Peridot1 😀

I currently have 10 cleansers, 7 serums, 2 eye creams and 8 moisturisers. Plus the rest.

God, when I see it written down, I really shouldn't have bought an advent calendar.

Peridot1 · 13/11/2025 18:03

i think you are making me feel better @OchonAgusOchonOh. Or maybe I’ll take it as a challenge? 😂.

I do also have quite a lot opened and in use. And unfortunately I had to throw some things out earlier in year as they were way out of date.

But I definitely think I won’t need to buy anything next year other than SPF.

That's what I'm trying to do. i really should have resisted the advent.

I'm also on a skincare group where we do secret santa but at least I will be sending stuff to someone else as well as receiving. Other than that, I will do my best to resist

Calypsocuckoo · 13/11/2025 18:28

Hello, I am a lapsed lurker but need to come back, I am Cuckoo and I am a makeup and skincareaholic 🤭
I have really managed to get my stash of minis and backups etc down and am at a stage where I use up shampoo and conditioner etc and then replace. I do have lots of face washes and shower gels in use in my bathroom but I only share that with DH now and the family bathroom is just for the kids so it’s the ones I am using and I don’t have spares anymore.

I am really happy with my skincare regime and my skin is the best it has ever been and am replacing as I finish products. But….. I have been feral with buying milky toners which I really love at the moment, and I have bought loads of new makeup, I just can’t help it there is so many nice things……I need help, somebody stop me, I need an intervention to stop me buying cream blushes. Have had parcels from space nk and Sephora this week, I need to put myself on a ban !!

Empties that went to boots recycling this week have been a ThisWorks body lotion, some sheet mask wrappers, a Victoria beckham mascara and a Chanel face cream pot.

Francestein · 14/11/2025 05:47

Has anyone used the Naturium shower gels? I’m most interested in the Vitamin C Oil one, but please share your opinions on all of you can spare the time.

Experiment627 · 14/11/2025 06:07

I have two empties report:

  • Vagisil daily soothe and protect cream: this basically saved my life. Over the summer my Lady Garden (like the rest of my body) started to itch insanely. Nothing was working - not the Balneum Plus cream, nor the Dermovate. I then started using this - instant relief and massive reduction in itching. I asked my GP if there was a prescription alternative and he came up with Aveeno moisturising cream & it sort of does the same but what really works now is a combo of live yogurt in the shower - applied then washed off and then the Aveeno. I will definitely RP this though for travel.
  • e.l.f. makeup remover: not really a micellar water and certainly not as good as one. Way prefer my Simple cleansing oil.

I've got the Glow Getter one and the matching Body Butter. I like them and used it a lot in the summer. It's been neglected a bit recently and I really should use them up - this particular range feels like a summer product so I think once the shorts and tank tops got put away I was less inclined to use them. Not much scent but very nice texture.

I've tried a few things from Naturium now, I think they are good and a reasonable price point.

Francestein · 14/11/2025 14:51

@OvaHere I bought a travel sized glow getter to try. Genuinely practical size to travel with for once! Thanks for your review!

Caggie09 · 14/11/2025 16:45

Color Wow dream cocktail. I like this product, ive used it for about 2 years now. My hair is quite long and since using this and the dream coat its made a difference to my hair. Its looks smooth and healthy. It doesnt weigh my hair down either.

Ordinary Rosehip oil. My staple oil, i ran out and have went about a week without. I really missed it in my routine for that extra kick of hydration.

Versed hydrating serum. Another one i enjoyed. Think its now discontinued, using my last in stash. Skin felt instantly hydrated and plump. I think i prefer gel like serums rather than thinner textures.

Grown alchemist body scrub. I hate this kind of packaging. Nightmare to squeeze it out, and the product was just OK.

Erborian CC sample. Dont use foundation now, just CC and BB cream. Feels like nothing is on your face, but your complexion is smoothed out. Wouldnt use anything else now.

Garnier mask. Not my favourite. Prefer the blue packet.

Calypsocuckoo · 14/11/2025 19:31

I use the glycolic acid one and the glow getter oil one, often together which leave skin super smooth. Love them !

Experiment627 · 15/11/2025 13:26

@Caggie09where in your haircare routine do you use the Colorwow dreamcoat? Is it a leave in conditioner?

Hello
I would like to join please
I am trying to use up all my products so I am not overwhelmed at Christmas and birthday which is on Boxing Day
I have accumulated a lot of moisturiser and primer
Im sure my collection isn't that bad in comparison to real beautyholics but still!

user593 · 15/11/2025 13:48

New to this thread, trying to low buy and failing miserably. I recently bought Merit Maxwell Lip Blush which has turned out to be a perfect autumn/ winter lipstick. No empties to report but close to finishing Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint (and have another ready to go!).

It's really good for styling so instead of a mousse or similar.

OvaHere · 15/11/2025 14:39

Some empties. I've been hanging on posting because I've other stuff close to finishing but I want to get these in the box out of the way. I've been trying to get through my one use sachets as I had loads at one point.

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Serum full size - used this as my day serum for the last couple of months. I like it a lot and would RP. Feels nice, smells nice and plays well with other products.

Penhaligons mini candle - No idea what the scent was, it was one from a beauty box. Thought it created a nice scent for a mini size as some small ones are useless. Also didn't give me a headache which some do.

Elemis Rose cleansing balm mini - took this for a weekend away then finished it up at home. You can't go far wrong with this cleansing balm but I prefer the other scents. It's a bit too much rose. Wouldn't stop me using one but I wouldn't actively purchase in this scent.

Evidens Night Recovery Mask mini - This was from the Harrods Spring GWP. Nice overnight mask, I enjoyed using it but wouldn't rush to purchase. Full size is expensive.

La Mer The Treatment Lotion mini - I was surprised how much I liked this. The texture is really nice and it's a good softening and hydrating first step. I did buy a slightly bigger one in the Liberty sale to test a bit longer. My favourite lotion for about a year has been Suqqu Aquafons but this could be a contender to replace.

Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Milky Foaming wash sachet - Only a one time use but can't say anything bad about it. Wasn't drying and foamed well.

d'Alba White Truffle Cleanser sachet - this is an oil cream to foam cleanser. Only one use but I really liked this, it's gone on the wishlist. The smell is gorgeous and it wasn't at all drying. I use their truffle spray quite often and generally rate this line.

Biodance Sea Kelp Gel Toner pads x2 - Just a sample pack but seemed nice. I like the gel toner pads and have a tub of the collagen ones. I use them for mini masking on a morning to wake my face up. Overall I think I'll stick with the collagen ones,

Lovely. That's a really nice box. I have too much stuff to justify buying that one hence being on this thread. 😁

Another newbie here. Long time skincare obsessive and newly diagnosed scent addict (I blame the Perfumistas on the other thread!)
Have really enjoyed reading through previous posts here and even got round to washing out some empties for a trip to Boots next week. I also have 6 old bottles of nail polish for safe disposal 🫢
Trying not to think about the 2 Advent calendars on order…..

Francestein · 15/11/2025 22:42

@OvaHere re the d’Alba cleanser… Lovely to use in the shower, but doesn’t effectively remove makeup on it’s own. I still needed a cleansing balm/oil as well. Some By Mi does a similar product in their Propolis range which is less fragranced and usually significantly cheaper. I must say that I do love the d’Alba Mist though…

OvaHere · 15/11/2025 22:45

@Francestein thanks. I always double cleanse with a balm or oil so would only buy it for the 2nd cleanse. Not that I should be buying any cleansers for quite some time...

This thread is right up my street! I am addicted to buying beauty products! Boots £10 Tuesdays is my ritual but I’ve joined as I want to hear about everyone’s bargains and beauty products that work!
