I just ordered Merit Signature Lip Matte in Classic and Flush Balm in Beverly Hills. I have a couple of other Flush Balms which I love and had been eyeing Beverly Hills for a while!

AnonAnonmystery · 26/11/2025 09:25

@LivingDeadGirlUK @wheresmyshoe look what I found in Holland and Barrett this morning!

AnonAnonmystery · 26/11/2025 09:28

Well it’s apparently a sensitive image ( not sure why) however lots of discounted REN products there.

wheresmyshoe · 26/11/2025 10:00

Oh wow, @AnonAnonmystery, I’ll get myself to my nearest one! Thank you.

AnonAnonmystery · 26/11/2025 10:14

@wheresmyshoe it’s a shame I couldn’t post my pics and there were two shelf’s full of products though sadly not my omega facial oil. I actually went to a REN treatment room in Covent Garden as my team got me a facial for my birthday and then I started using the facial oil ( was soo good).

Francestein · 26/11/2025 12:59

@paristotokyo I love that it’s soft and smudgey. Works for the look I am attempting for when I see Lady Gaga in a couple of weeks. I chose the black with silver sparkle. If they had the espresso brown I would have chosen that one.

How do you track everything? That's impressive that you know how many you've used and gifted 😍

You've not bought anything since 1st August? I must've picked up the buying baton from you then. I bought the Harrods fragrance advent calendar on 4th August and haven't stopped since 🤣 before that, I'd only bought 1 edit all year.

Does that mean you don't have a beauty advent calendar though? 😱

Hopefully someone can recommend a pur alternative for you 🩷

So I have a big massive spreadsheet with different tabs. I have a completed tab, so I can track my used products. I make notes about the products, would I buy again etc. I have a separate tab for gifted, again easy to track numbers. I have a tab for products currently in use, purchases, travel sizes, perfumes, make up and haircare. My make up probably isnt that up to date at the moment, but all my other products certainly are. It really makes me stop and think if I really need something and when my moisturisers were building up, it was starting to stress me out.

However...I went into Boots with my recycling on Tuesday and in order to make use of my 500 points when you spend £10, I bought two pillow sprays and a body wash. I love a pillow spray and I love Feather and Down brand which was on 3 for 2.

Also, would you believe, I bought my Rituals AC in January when I was on holiday in Lanzarote! It was £30.40 lol. I had a look at others. I was tempted by the Holland and Barratt one, but because of the sheer number of products I still have (and havent used from last year's AC) it was an easy decision for me.

I feel like that about my REN products too, @LivingDeadGirlUK, such a shame we’ve lost this brand.

Today I found a travel size creamy cleanser in the back of the draw, so pleased :)

You should try the eyeliner from HIldun beauty. Half the price of vb and it stays put. I always find the vb eyeliner ends up smudging and not in a good way.

Thank-you @Experiment627

I have moved on to using a bottle of Doublebase that possibly my DM left years ago.
Pros - it's brilliantly effective, cheap and unscented
Cons - I just hate it, it sits on my hands rather than sinking in

Why can't something work and be lovely and not discontinued?

BeckyBloom · 27/11/2025 00:18

Just lurking as I get completely overwhelmed when I have too many products on my shelf, but I adore a Beauty recommendation so thank you ladies

Francestein · 27/11/2025 03:42

Hi @AlPaccacino I investigated your recommendation. Unfortunately with postage and the exchange rate, it’s cheaper to buy VB!

Francestein · 27/11/2025 12:09

I used up my House of Hur Purifying Cleansing Balm. It comes in a tub that you twist and it dispenses the balm rather like a sharpener. The product was okay, but the packaging is annoying. Possibly because it’s so hot here, it leaks out of the sharpening bits and the tub gets all greasy, making it impossible to turn. There was only 50ml in it and it didn’t last as long as other products. I wouldn’t buy again. Finished a PeriPera mascara. Had a doggie on the tube. The mascara was pretty good. Two mini TirTir Ceramic Cream tubs. It’s amazing. Would buy again but have others to use up.

user593 · 27/11/2025 12:10

Has anyone got the VB Cocoa Pave Eyeliner? I’m very tempted!

paristotokyo · 27/11/2025 13:43

Couple of empties:

Pictured:
Biodance gel toner pads - not a fan of these. They are cold and slimy and feel a bit wasteful just wiping it when it feels like the pad has more product. Can be used as a mask if you leave them on but they slide off so it’s annoying to use that way. A proper sheet mask is better for that so I wouldn’t rp. I’m just not a fan of gel toner pads I think even though the product itself is fine
Biossance squalane hyaluronic toner mist - have a bigger size on the go, used to love it but I’m bored of it now and don’t feel it’s as hydrating as some of the k beauty mists I’ve tried
Avene thermal mist - useful in our hot country but nothing exciting. This was a mini, still have a massive can to use up. Good for when the kids are hot and bothered when on a day out, keep in fridge to keep cold
Skin1004 spf stick - ooh I loooove this. Use this as a top up throughout the day when I don’t wear any base make up (every day to be fair). It feels really velvety on the skin, not shiny at all and just so easy to apply. This was a mini I got in a kit and have rp the full size.
Meg rhythm steam mask - I love these. Really relaxing, get quite warm (some masks are a bit of a damp squib) and should use them more. These ones are in the chamomile scent and smell lovely. Picked them up cheaply in our local drugstore

Not pictured:
THREE eyebrow pencils. All fine, nothing to write about really. As long as it’s a good shade match (dark brown) I’m not too fussy.

Have a few more almost empties due soon.

Not impressed, especially for the money. After years of experimenting I’ve settled on Zoeve eyeliners.

paristotokyo · 27/11/2025 14:01

Oh forgot to add:

Laneige cica sleeping mask - it’s been reformulated recently but this is the original one. Have had forever but the expiry is still next year. Finally got round to using it regularly and like it a lot but won’t rp as it has niacinamide in now. Felt really hydrating and calming. Look forward to choosing a new night cream as I don’t have anything to replace it with currently

OvaHere · 27/11/2025 14:01

@paristotokyo I like those gel pads. I prefer them to the tissue type toner pads. I guess we're all different. I do know what you mean about feeling there's too much product on a pad to sufficiently use.

Caggie09 · 27/11/2025 17:59

Rausch repair shampoo & conditioner sample - Never heard of this brand, i actually won a giveaway on tiktok (Uriage Lipbalm) and they sent this too. Shampoo made my hair feel like straw🫨 Conditioner was nice though.

Elemis cherry cleansing balm - Personally dont think you can beat the original imo. It reminds me of my nans pot pourri, balm is fab. Scent, not so.

Empties today : No7 Future Renew Night cream ( won’t be buying again as expensive and the results are questionable). Also No 7 Youthful Replenishing Oil ( was part of a set and not something I’d usually purchase but was very good!(

Newbies today and then I have nothing new awaiting useage : Super Facialist Rosehip oil ( heard good things about anti aging properties of Rosehip oil in general), Lumene Night Moisturiser ( anti wrinkle and firm) and Lumene collagen essence. Have not used this brand at all but purchased on Boots £10 Tuesday of course. Opted for cheaper creams as budget a bit tight right now!

paristotokyo · 28/11/2025 02:35

@OvaHereah so you see, I think I’d prefer the other type of toner pads but actually I hate the massive tubs they come in as that feels wasteful too, so I’ve never bought any.

OvaHere · 28/11/2025 10:47

For the vast majority you only need to buy the tub once as they do refill packs.

They are a product though I really like the idea of but then struggle to work out when to use them. I've got some Vit C pads but in terms of strength and results they're not going to replace actual Vit C in my routine. DIY masking is the best use I've come up with.

WinterBerry40 · 28/11/2025 16:58

Been in last threads about cutting back in beauty products but back on here as this past year have been going mad for buying stuff on the QVC channel ( I know 😏 ) I'm currently the proud ( not so proud ) owner of stacks of Liz Earle , Elemis , Loccitane and Molton Brown products , with more in transit due to bloody bf offers .
Whilst some of the products are nice , some don't live up to the promises of the presenters so I am determined not to watch / be gullible for the rest of the year and next year .
Am I alone in falling down the Qvc beauty channel black hole ?

LightandBreezy · 28/11/2025 18:04

@WinterBerry40 I haven't shopped QVC but definitely feel I've fallen into a Black Friday hole - I did mean to buy a few regular bits whilst reduced but then also bought a Tatcha set and the hourglass palette. I can justify the palette (because frankly I look like a ghost atm) but have quite a few moisturisers that need to be used before I even touch the dewy cream.
