I am just popping in to correct something I wrote on the last thread. I thought that I had used the Numbuzin PDRN essence in the silver bottle, but because the texture seemed so different to my memory, I checked it out and I had used the VT one. The Numbuzin is entirely new to me.

Experiment627 · 11/11/2025 17:44

@Francesteinstarted back in January. Have seen both GP and more recently Dermatologist about it. Have been diagnosed with 2 conditions. i am on HRT and I switched from gel to patches - to see if that made a difference. I have discovered I cannot abide by the patches as they make the itching worse! Have requested to revert back to gel or try spray. I am pretty sure the initial trigger was a combo of things including blooming perimenopause FFS.

I have 5 more empties.

A beautiful perfume I bought during a tour of a perfume factory in France many years ago. Loved it but they charge an insane amount for international postage so will not be rebuying unless I'm there again.

Laneige water mask. Lovely moisturiser.

ESPA body lotion. Fine. Nothing exciting.

Bare minerals powder concealer. Love this but they don't seem to do it anymore.

Poreprofessional primer. I like this but prefer bare minerals.

64/100

Thanks so much!!!

not much to report here.

a Charlotte tilbury eyeliner pencil is done. She was far too stubby to sharpen so I let her go.

moved onto an elf “mechanical” one aka twist up.

almost done with a hand cream on my desk at work too.

MyRabbit79 · 11/11/2025 21:37

I have some empties to report including some which I emptied down the sink as they weren’t good (the two John Frieda products)

I used up the Davines one and got used to the weird smell but won’t rebuy

MyRabbit79 · 11/11/2025 21:39

I meant to ask- what is everyone’s tactic with products you’re not liking? I have a Sali Hughes cleanser for example that’s been used once but stings my eyes. Just empty it down the sink?!

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 11/11/2025 21:48

First time posting on the thread so apologies if this has been asked before. I am always loathe to bin the lovely glass bottles that some beauty products are in in the normal recycling bin. It feels like such a waste as they’re so pretty and that something better could be done with them.

Any thoughts?

Francestein · 11/11/2025 22:10

@MyRabbit79 Assuming you’re not having any reactions…Cleansers make good body wash. (Currently using a vitamin c one in the shower.) Moisturisers and serums have been mixed together to create my Frankenmoisturiser. I use it on my body. I don’t care if it’s eye cream, I’m using it up.

I'm currently using a serum and a moisturiser on my body. I disliked the serum and the moisturiser was too rich for my face.

I also offload stuff on dd but she's getting a bit fussier now that she is earning.

If possible, I rinse and reuse.

MyRabbit79 · 11/11/2025 22:26

@Francesteingood idea, I wonder if it would work as a shaving cream in the shower

MyRabbit79 · 11/11/2025 22:26

@OchonAgusOchonOhno DD to offload onto unfortunately!

Francestein · 11/11/2025 22:47

@MyRabbit79 Worth a try I guess!

Oh I found you!

Just posting this one quick to placemark, but I have an empty and will be repurchasing Revlon Illuminating Tinted Serum.

I still have tonnes to get through, but did eventually use up the never ending bar of hand soap.

Experiment627 · 12/11/2025 05:00

@isthismylifenowsorry I did not get to PM you 😢 but so good you found us xxx

@GargoylesofBeelzebubI sometimes save them so they can be reused. If I buy a larger size of something else but it’s no good for my travel bag, I’ll decant it into a smaller one I’ve saved. I’ve got watery toners which usually come in large bottles, I decant into mini mist bottles I’ve saved, things like that. My son recently cracked a new serum of mine (luckily not the whole way) but I just decanted it into a different bottle so I can still use it. I also have a family member who accepts them as she uses them for similar things. Otherwise they go to be recycled

Peridot1 · 12/11/2025 08:59

Hello all. Thanks for the PM @Experiment627.

I dropped off the last thread for a few reasons I think. Waves at anyone who remembers me. Hope everyone is well. @Francestein - Hope everything is good with you.

Anyway. I have been busy adding to my stash as well as using some things up. I have the Boots Skincare Advent calendar to open - bought that as wasn’t going to get an advent calendar at all as I don’t need serums, make up, hair scrunchies etc and I get through cleansers, moisturisers, eye creams but this is full of basics that I will use so I talked myself into it. Also had enough Boots points to get it for ‘free’. And I do love the ritual of opening a drawer each morning in December. Then Caroline Hirons did another kit. Bought that. Then Cult Beauty did an Edit with Bio Effect serum which I have been wanting to try for ages so got that for DH to give to me for Christmas. Then last night had an email with a discount for Caroline Hirons previous kit which hasn’t sold out and I had been looking at off and on and I bought that. And that is on top of other bits I’ve bought through the year. So I definitely need to stop buying and start using.

Shower stuff and soaps isn’t too bad - did buy one Korres shower gel in Greece but am working my way through my soap collection. Am about to ditch a Rituals foaming shower mousse as it drives me mad as it goes everywhere when I use it.

Have bought a few body lotions that need using up and also some body oils. Decided I much prefer using an oil as I find it quicker and easier. And not so cold this time of year!

Hair products are not too bad but definitely need sorting and using or passing on.

I am doing a sort out/stock take this weekend and have also decided I will keep the items from the CH kits, the CB edit and the advent calendar separately for now to use up the other older things I have.

Definitely not buying anything else for a long while except SPF which is a necessity obviously.

Experiment627 · 12/11/2025 10:31

Lovely to see you back @Peridot1xxx

Francestein · 12/11/2025 11:27

Welcome back lovely @Peridot1 I’m doing a big room reset tomorrow. I’m buying some of those wee pouches with screw tops to decant some bits for travel and binning excess junk.

Peridot1 · 12/11/2025 14:00

And another Cult Beauty Edit just arrived…… 😱

That sounds like a plan @Francestein.

Thanks @Experiment627.

BlueHeat · 12/11/2025 17:44

@Peridot1 If you’re tempted by the CB Edit, take a look at the ingredients of the Medik8 night cream in case you’re sensitive to any of them before you buy. It contains loads of irritants! I had to chuck mine as my skin just couldn’t handle it. Attaching pics from SkinSort.

Peridot1 · 12/11/2025 18:01

Thanks @BlueHeat - I have used it before with no issues so think it’s ok for me. Interesting though. You do wonder why companies knowingly use potential irritants if they don’t have to.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/11/2025 10:33

I've a couple of empties:

Vanilla and Raspberry Source shower gel - ok but a bit too sweet and artificial smelling, wouldn't repurchase.

Cerave gel moisturiser for oily skin, this stuff is brilliant and I have another one waiting for me, possibly a holy grail.

paristotokyo · 13/11/2025 12:12

Empties and a purchase-
Finished a korres body cleanser in pistachio, liked the scent, did the job. Was a cheap tk maxx buy.
Bought SDJ delicia drench shower oil to replace. I loveee this. Leaves my skin super hydrated after and it smells AMAZING and it just makes me happy. I’m not a fan of the SDJ mists to be honest but I do love this so it was worth the spend
