Ok, I have made a start.
Had a sort out and put stuff in plastic containers in spare room by category which I will “shop” from when the things in the bathroom run out. I am only buying stuff that I have run out of and that I know that is right for me.
The things I have gotten rid of -
OGX Argon Oil for ends of hair - bottle leaked and it was a slippery mess. Would not repurchase, not impressed.
John Frieda Frizz Ease hair serum - finished it this morning. Won’t RP.
Keratese Energisent scalp scrub - finished this morning. I would RP as I love it, but it is too expensive now I am trying to budget.
Weleda Skin Food - love it, a staple for me as a foot cream. Already have a replacement.
The Body Shop foot scrub - was a regular purchaser but they have now put it in a metal tube - it was in a pot before. Now it is hard to get out the tube plus they have ramped the price up. So will just be using a JML or Margaret Dabbs foot file from now on.
These we’re all old/dregs so have ditched:
Klorane Camomile Shampoo
Garnier Ultimate Blends conditioner
2 lavender oils - expired
1 tea tree oil - expired
Giving away -
Bondi Sands Exfoliating Glove (unused)
Pantene Silky and Glowy Conditioner- big bottle only used a few times, but a tangly mess for me.
Primark Glow Cream Primer - meh
Maybelline Jelly Primer - meh again
The Ordinary 15% Solution - allergic to
A jade face roller thingy
Collection Blush Duo
Beauty Pie Blusher
Threw away for hygiene reasons -
Someone would love them I am sure but I don’t like giving away mouth products
Kylie Jenner - 2 Butter Balms (messy)
Ruby Hammer 2 lipstick pencils (again messy)
Loccitane Shea butter lip balm - not impressed (love their hand cream though)
YSL balm - drying
Various No 7 and No 17 lip sticks etc
So, I am starting the journey. I seem to have amassed a lot of hair masks, hair oils, perfumes, blushers and glowy face primers. I am going to use the hair masks as regular conditioner and go through them one by one. Make a point of wearing perfume every day.
I have sorted out make up stash. I have a few of the Hourglass palettes buried so I have put them to the front and I am going to use them up. I have also got a £50 Special edition Hourglass brush, beautiful to look at, but what was I thinking of. I will now use it every day. Not sure what I was saving it for.
I feel motivated to get things down to a better level. This is a reset for me. I have not ruled out giving some other stuff away but at the moment it is on my use list.
