Be careful with those offers as it has to be full size from the exact list in the set. I purchased one year thinking I can get another perfume from the brands and I end up not liking any of the set. It's great if you are certain you want one of them as full bottle.

SOTD is Velvet Aura. I have two backups but I am going through the first one with such a speed - I will be done with bottle in a month if used daily. I am not going to buy anymore they are out of stock everywhere anyway, due to longevity. The price is ok I guess, and they did send me scarf and car scent with it but I have to accept that it's temporary edition, not very lasting perfume and it can not be long term signature winter scent. I have very few perfumes with such huge dent, but I will enjoy it while it last guilt free.

QueefofSheena · 07/11/2025 08:07

I saw the velvet aura home spray and it’s a thing of beauty. I’m so tempted to buy it just for the bottle

BakeOffRewatch · 07/11/2025 08:45

BTSO Dirty Milk again. Yesterday, it had gone down to a lovely milky caramel skin scent by evening, which suits me very well as I don’t like strong scents in evening. It’s clearly still there but the sillage is low.

@MiaN and @IDontHateRainbows have got me into the idea of a bedtime scent so I’m saving Commodity Milk Orchid for then, find it really relaxing and comforting.

I saw that BTSO have released CHOCO LOCO chocolate one only at Harrods, and FREE COCO, a coconut one with pear top notes only at Selfridges. At least that means I can go try them, unlike the CB exclusive. Might mean no 20% codes though?

Choco Loco notes

  • Top Notes: Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Liquor
  • Middle Notes: Cacao Absolute, Condensed Milk, Caramel Fudge, Burnt Sugar, Ginger Liqueur, Whipped Cream
  • Base Notes: Cookie Dough, Vanilla Absolute, Brown Sugar, Marshmallow, Musk, Ambrette

Free Coco notes

  • Top notes: Pear Granita, Coconut Water
  • Heart notes: Coconut, Macadamia Nuts
  • Base notes: Vanilla Trio: Absolute, Pure Jungle Essence™ & Infusion Orcanox™
  • Perfumer: Jérôme di Marino

@MiaNI’m so intrigued to try velvet aura based on your love for it! Will see if I can sniff it somewhere.. I get cold weather fragrance from the notes though so may not work for me

JoRaRaRa · 07/11/2025 09:08

@BakeOffRewatch I'm the same, unless I'm out, I want a soft, comforting scent for the evening. I've been wearing either sandalwood temple or Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Milk for bed. I've now received the Ellis Brooklyn rollerball collection from tkmaxx, so I'm putting plenty of the vanilla milk on 😊

As I wfh, I keep going for cosy scents on a morning too, but I need to start going for a few more get up and go scents but not too overpowering. Saying that, I have gone for the commidity milk this morning from the CB stocking, it is a beautiful soft one. Definitely one that could be worn for bed. I think I'm going to go spray some father figure on, try to get me less cosy and more boss b! Tch mode 🤣

I've been stalking their website religiously for any sign of a BF sale.

MiaN · 06/11/2025 13:58

they have 30ml, that could be good start?

I wondered, and am doing perfume-math on it (ie. the 30ml is cheaper in ££ than the 100ml, but the 100ml is cheaper per ml than the 30 ml). But I have a 9ml coming from Vinted so will see how that does me.

Also tried DS & Durga 'Cognac Reign' yesterday which is delicious - goes on slightly musty which I think is the lavender, but dries into a soft vanilla skin scent, with a little booze/woods kick - same vibe as the heavier duty booze/vanilla perfumes, but more like a soft cashmere jumper than a brass band.

I really need to spend the money on a nice mum at work perfume like Vilhelm Parfumerie Peony Couture. These gourmands are addictive but not really how I want to smell to other people. My BTSO wish list is now Black Crème, Choco Loco and Free Coco £££!!!

MiaN · 07/11/2025 11:26

it's always cheaper per ml to buy big bottle, but for anyone who have over 20 bottles of perfume the maths shifts. I have 10ml perfumes I love and had for few years - you just have so much choice. That type of scent has very autumn/winter vibe (Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot) and using up the 9 or 30ml make sense before considering bigger sizes as 30ml is likely to last me few years. And in few years, it is possible and likely I will be loving other perfumes. I prefer not buying 100ml bottles anymore as the chances of me ever finishing this size are very slim.

Although clearly I have fallen for one and have broken my rules.

potplantsinparadise · 07/11/2025 11:44

@MiaN Oh completely - I have a 100ml of Jo Malone 'Orange Marmalade' which I love but is still going strong 2 years on, whereas I've burned through some recent little 9-10mls (Floral St 'Electric Rhubarb', Le Labo 'Eucalyptus', DS & Durga 'Cowboy Grass').

I'm feeling very inspired to try some new scents, but don't know where to start! Are there any fragrance mini sets you recommned?

My CH mystery bag and samples arrived. I ticked gift wrapping and it’s so beautifully presented that I’ve put it away as a treat to open on Christmas Eve with a cocktail, once I sorted everything for everyone else

Does that mean you are keeping it a mystery or do you know the contents? Id be interested in knowing what's inside.

It’s a sort of secret as they tell you that one item, but when I got the dispatch email yesterday they listed the items. I quickly realised and closed it, so I only registered the samples and one other thing but I can’t be certain exactly what it is. I’ll have forgotten by Christmas Eve 😁

The liberty scent kit

I got 2 the other day. Gwp swung it, had been on the fence. I also had liberty drop vouchers so basically free 🤣
Ive fell down the fragrance hole 🤣

paristotokyo · 07/11/2025 13:25

Evening scent is vanilla 28. I realised I had a 2ml sample to use up even though I’ve also got a 10ml. The sample has macerated and turned into a very deep dark colour, almost black. I wouldn’t wear this out (or during the day here), as it’s sweeter than what I’d usually go for but it’s for when I just really crave the comfort of a deep vanilla.

MiaN · 07/11/2025 13:40

I have posted reviews for few of them, but here is summary of my views on what I bought this year.

From least favourite to favourite

Perfume shop advent - it was ok for what it is. I wasn't disappointed, but I would be ok to give it a miss too. It also had masculine scents - 8 of them. A lot was gifted, went in the bin or is going to be used in bathroom. That's what I have kept from it in order that I like them.

Rabanne Million Gold for Her EDP 5ml
Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Elixir EDP 7ml
Carolina Herrera La Bomba EDP 11ml
Moschino Toy 2 Pearl EDP 5ml
Dsquared2 Icon Pour Femme EDP 5ml
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Parfum 5ml
Travalo Travel Spray Red 5ml

Harvey Nichols - I would say it is great if you have mixed gender people to share it, and if you are already into perfumes. Some braver, harder to appreciate options.

Look fantastic - designer heavy, but 24 days and mainly female and unisex. It had 4 perfumes I already own and either like or love and few new to me like good girl etc that I am enjoying to get to know. I didn't rate it as high as I should probably as I knew good few of the perfumes.

this is what I already had and happy to get more
Molton Brown Sunlit Clementine & Vetiver 7.5ml (Deluxe Size) – Worth £18
Givenchy L’Interdit Eau de Parfum 10ml (Deluxe Size) – Worth over £18
Floral Street Arizona Bloom Eau de Parfum 10ml (Deluxe Size) – Worth £28
Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne 50ml (Full Size) – Worth £82

Space NK - much better then last year and I think it is great option for newbie too

Some of my favourites - summer vibes, laundry, nutty flavour, another laundry, spring time green strawberry, boozy apple pie/wintery scent, lovely spring scent, flirty fruity floral. Those are only my favourites, I didn't keep some but you also get vanilla, skin scent, sandalwood. So good variety and I would really recommend it for first time fragrance advent buyers.

Acqua Di Parma Fico Di Amalfi EDT, 12ml
Byredo Blanche Eau De Parfum, 8ml
D.S. & Durga Pistachio Pocket Perfume, 10ml
Frederic Malle Acne Studios Par Frederic Malle Eau De Parfum, 10ml
Killian Paris Angels' Share Eau De Parfum, 7.5ml
Malin + Goetz Strawberry Eau De Parfum, 50ml
Vyrao Ludeaux Eau De Parfum, 10ml

Liberty Kit - the best selection and I think it would satisfy if you are just starting to explore new fragrances or if you are already fragrance collector but I am not ready with more detailed notes

@MiaN i think we could've shared the SNK calendar 🤣 the only one I liked from your list was byredo. I didn't sell adp as I want to see if I like it in summer and they weren't going for much on vinted anyway so I thought I'd keep it for now. Dedcool, sandlewood Temple and you Doux are my faves.

Very good list of reviews 😊

I don’t like clutter or being overwhelmed by choice so being faced by lots of minis is not enjoyable for me first thing in the morning. I like having one or two big bottles to choose from. I’ve got three FB now. The scent kits and samples are a great way to find one though!

MiaN · 07/11/2025 15:05

I don’t do clutter at all — my perfumes are carefully organised, and part of the fun is curating my seasonal selection.
My main perfume area is a shelf inside my wardrobe, where I keep my seasonal perfumes. Everything is stored out of light, and I use empty boxes as mini shelves to maximise space.

  • Front row: Angel’s Share
  • Back row: Babylon and Pistachio (D.S. & Durga) — I reach for these most often.
I also use lipstick holders to store my 5ml and 10ml decants (upper left in the photo). These are organised seasonally as well. helf Layout (Right to Left)
  1. Cardamom–Vanilla–Sandalwood Trio
  • Includes a little hair perfume and body cream — they just make sense here.
  1. Green & Lavender Vanillas
  • Plus two signature/work perfumes (Byredo), which stay year-round and don’t move with the seasons.
  1. Middle Section
  • Ginger Biscuit, Two Cherries, Lira, and Devotion — my lemon, citrus, and nut gourmands.
  • VB (Victoria Beckham) sits at the back — too strong for summer.
  • Athalia (beautifully incensey to me).
  • Everyday scents at the back:
  • L’Interdit (floral)
  • Wood Sage & Sea Salt (fresh & clean).

In my IKEA alex drawers, I use advent calendar doors to organise my out-of-season perfumes.
Some stay there all year, while others rotate.

  • Bottom left section: Mostly citrus scents, with a few fresh/clean and spring perfumes (fresh green florals).
  • Soft florals: Delina Rose and Chanel Chance.
  • One of the shallow shelves houses minis I plan to use soon — the ones that don’t fit elsewhere.

Another deep shelf holds two advent door boxes containing summery perfumes.
This means I can easily go to the section that matches my mood and find exactly what I want.

I’ve also repurposed the Perfume Shop Advent Box to store perfumes with an “undecided fate.”

My bedtime perfume lives in my bedside locker, also kept safely out of the light.

I love perfume and take real joy in organising my collection. While I may have more than someone who doesn’t collect, it’s never messy or cluttered — I try to keep it well curated and easy to enjoy.

I am likely to do some changes in January when I start dreaming of fresh and green spring so I change things around.

Wow @MiaN that looks amazing! You’ve given me some ideas for my drawer. All my minis are between Liberty kit bags and shopping bags and beauty drop boxes. My dressing table is a mountain of stuff and I’m not even a prolific purchaser. I’ve been meaning to sort it out for a while and think I might do it this weekend.
