I’m holding fast onto no HN calendar but I do keep going back as I loved it last year…

SOTD Wild Rosinda from a liberty sample. It’s a grower and smells different today than 3 months ago.

I’ve no suggestions for the gucci or vetivier alternatives- but I did smell the Malin + goetz vetiver perfume and it’s lovely. Quite balanced. I’m not a fan of the brand but that and a face cream was very nice.

For those Grid Charnel fans- have you tried the hair perfume? I have a HN voucher ( small one) and wondering if it’s worth a punt as I can’t justify the main perfume ATM

Haven't tried that but I found a Spanish retailer selling the bdk extraits set ( rouge, gris and pas ce soir extraits, 10ml each). Bit of a gamble buying out of the uk but I bought on klarna for buyer protection and trust pilot reviews were ok. I figure it would be hard to fake 3 x travel size as opposed to a full bottle.

I hope we get an autumn Liberty kit in the members week that starts next week. I have £70 in vouchers so either a scent or skincare set would be nice.

MiaN · 10/10/2025 19:45

I did little sniff session after work today.
Rare beauty perfume - one for the vanilla lovers, not the type of vanilla I like but worth of a sniff. It reminds me of others

I went to Jo Malone counter to sniff the new winter additions and immediately decided to get 30ml of one of them - Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot Cologne. I don't often buy something after one sniff, no wait for drydown at all! After awhile copped on it reminds me of Gris Charnel but not dupe of it so happy to have both. This will be handy to carry with me. They have some similar notes - tea, sandalwood, cardamom, vanila. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I remembered I have something as similar!

I tried the new JHAG but need to go sniff it again when I haven't smelled so many

OvaHere · 10/10/2025 19:48

@MiaN The JM sounds lovely.

Is the JHAG the powder one? That one has piqued my interest. I like a lot of powdery scents.

Magpiecomplex · 10/10/2025 20:57

Been wearing Penhaligons Luna today. I was running out of energy so a sweet and zingy citrus was exactly what I needed.

IDontHateRainbows · 11/10/2025 08:25

Tried one of the HN fragrances, fragrance du bois sirens which from the scent profile absolutely sounded up my street...cherry, amber, where do I sign?

In real life it wasn't quite as expected. Still nice but a bit 'cherry cough syrup' and not as deep as i"d hoped for. Just goes to show you can't predict from scent profile. Ah well trying these little bottles is all part of the fun.

Looking back its literally a year since my perfume obsession started, not a coincidence at the time i was put on mounjaro.

I must have bought over a 100 small/ travel size since then and around 10 full bottles!

2 stone down though so all good....

I absolutely love sirene, I was toying with the idea of just buying a bottle of that instead of the advent calendar but I couldn't justify the spend with no return (from selling some of the ones I don't like). I managed to buy another 10ml of it on ebay last night so I'm pleased about that 🥰

It has grown on me to be fair. I don't not like it, it just wasn't as expected from the scent profile. Loads will be on the usual selling places now if you want to stock up!

@IDontHateRainbows i read an article, I think it was last month, that said people on mounjaro were having their scent awakening and there were links between the injections and perfume so, that is likely the reason why we've both become obsessed with scent. I've also kitted my house out with reed diffusers everywhere and now have a load tucked away ready to be used 🤣

For me, always a comfort/ binge eater, its like my brain has rewired from eating to smelling. This is a miracle after many years of food issues, so I don't really mind the expense/ obsession as its better than the alternative!

Yes, it's better to spend your money on something long lasting like perfume then on food 😊 and it's a lot healthier. Although, I'm not sure changing one addiction to another is too good for us. I wonder if I'm also getting addicted to that buzz from shopping. I've always had that, when I was at uni and had no money, I'd do shopping days when my student loan came in, then leave it all in the bags and take it back the next week because I just needed the spending buzz 🤣 and I needed the money for food and rent later on in the term 🙈 I did get into a bit of trouble with a new look store card, I racked up £300 and thought it was the end of the world 🤣

For me I'm quite happy to have a benign 'substitute addiction' after having unhealthier addictions in the past. Booze is another one I'm not so keen on after starting on mounjaro - I used to happily put a few pints away. I'll probably always be addicted to something, I have ADHD. This is the one with least impact on my health, and yes it is a little expensive but I'm spending a lot less on food and booze than before.

Loewe Solo Ella. I purchased it blind as had built up credit with Liberty and wanted a great.

Angel's Share for me today

This is very true. I'm also not that fussed about alcohol anymore. But I've been going off it for the last couple of years. I tend to drink prosecco, white wine, cocktails and gin and tonic, but they were all giving me acid reflux so I was just put off drinking any of them. Now I don't feel like I even want them. It's probably why I didn't like the kilian from HN fragrance because that has gin in it.

Unlikely to be any sotd from me today as I think I have the new strain of covid 🤒 although I did make some vinted sales yesterday so I could do with taking them to the locker.

Has anyone tried the new Chloe fragrance? I have a sample of it, at first I wasn't too keen but now I really like it 😍

I'm another Mounjaro turned me into a fraghead person (with some encouragement from a scent obsessed friend). I only took MJ for 6/7 months and have been off it since about March. Lost 5 stone, spent a fortune buying new me stuff and haven't looked back. Need to slow my roll next year though now I've had my year of fun spending.

Did you find the perfume obsession abated after you came off it at all?

Not really. I don't think I've ever quite got as into it as you have but the interest hasn't waned. I definitely get something from scents now. Just over 12 months ago I was someone who owned one cheap perfume bought on a Jet2 flight. 😂Have a new found interest in candles too, though not to the same extent.

Magpiecomplex · 11/10/2025 11:37

Amouage Sunshine Man today to cheer me up.

daddysgirlnot · 11/10/2025 15:58

I’m changing my perfume… worn the same one for years, it’s my trademark. But it reminds me of someone I’d rather forget, so today had fun trying out new ones. Have bought a small bottle of Estée Lauder Desert Eden, so will see how that goes. Chat GPT has provided a list of perfumes with similar notes I like.. so will see if I can order some samples. Missing Balenciaga Florabotanica, it was always my backup lol.

JoRaRaRa · 11/10/2025 16:01

If any of you like Ysl fragrances, they have 3 codes which stack, I'm not sure how well they do on makeup:
YSLGIFT
YSLGOLD
YSL15
I just bought the 30ml Black Opium Glitter, I'm not even sure I like it 🤣 It's meant to be £72, I paid £35.40.

Discothèque Lola at Coat check. This one is quite yummy, reminds me of genetic bliss or angel dust, heavy on the ambroxan though which gives it an artificial edge im not keen on.

Bought it as I loved the name! It was in one of the BACs I didnt buy so going cheap on vinted.

That's interesting. I've been on mounjaro for 13 months. But my perfume obsession predates it - was a casual user in my teens/esrly 20s and then I read an article about classic perfume in Elle in 1996 and it inspired me to buy a bottle of Mitsouko. After that I became a junkie 🙂.

Today's scent: Vyrao's Witchy Woo. Love the softened patchouli vibe in it.

IDontHateRainbows · 11/10/2025 21:12

Fleur narcotique. Didn't think I was into florals but this one has made me change my mind. Delicious white floral. Coming to the end of my sample and seriously considering another, although a buying ban is in force for a while.

IDontHateRainbows · 11/10/2025 21:17

Before mounjaro I probably had a quite normal consumption of perfume, I had maybe 3 bottles i would have the occasional spritz of. Remember ylang espresso from floral street and by the fireplace being two I regularly used but I didn't particularly get the urge to buy more more more. Id happily have a main scent for ages. Vanilla 28 was another one

That all changed last year and now I enjoy what I have but always after the next thing.
