See now we must be opposites as oudy rose is the only kind of rose I've ever got on with. I liked MH scherzo of which there was a mini in the fenwick BAC , just as well as I was running out of the original sample I had. Sounds like I may get on with Delina -I'll wait to see if Fenwick send me a replacement for the damaged one.

I have 10ml of Sherzo from Look Fantastic, it's so popular but not my type. Yes we have different tastes for rose scents for sure

I was suprised last year to find myself falling in love with Nostos Eldo which is possibly the oudiest rose scent ever.
Tried the thameen riviera again and it's not quite the same. I may sell it as sprayed once as it's supposedly worth £200 that tiny bottle so i reckon I can get £50 for it.

I’m enjoying the HN chat. I might go hunt down themeen to test. I sold a vanilla powder last year very quickly.

I went to the liberty lounge- very lovely it was. Confusing thought as many fragrances are upstairs and downstairs- but nice curation.

vilhelm - some I like but there are some notes in many which are a bit sickly. 3 fruity new ones, one called Grand lord 🤣 which was plummy.

I tried the Dries Van Noten ones which are new to me- some unusual combinations (chestnut and silk ? ) and some beautiful bottles. A orange blossom one and some grassy ones.

les soeurs de noe - new brand to me. Rose Oud was a skin test and is lush- bit of saffron, rose ( but not a green one) and leathery- no mega oud.

liberty fragrance lady gave me some samples after a wee chat.

I bought nothing but liberty has a 20% off in a few days for loyalty card. Oh and I smelt the Acne Malle one. Not my thing.

Thameen riviere is in the Harrods calendar, I quite like it. It's not overpowering but rather a subtle elegance. I've put it away until I open it properly though.

Delina is beautiful, I think you'll really like that one, so I hope they send you another bottle of it. You could also try emailing PDM themselves and explaining that yours has arrived smashed and see if they can send you a sample? Worth a shot 😊 make sure you include your address 😉

Carnal Flower is challenging as many get strong animalic scent. Its bold scent, I appreciate it but wouldn't buy full bottle. I go between this is fantastic to not liking it depending on the mood

Memo Madurai is cute, I will keep it for now. Very simple sweet floral, it will be nice in warmer weather.

Jo Malone sandlewood and spiced apricot for me today.

SNK fragrance is now live if anyone is around. I’m 2 hours ahead in Corfu so just snagged it.

perfumes I currently own:

a Jo Malone mimosa and cardamom (a gift from my fiancé)

Perfumery general / Pierre Guillaume 12 (it’s an old one)

Carthusia la sirena (<= my favourite)

Bengale Rouge Papillon Perfumery (<= I‘m never sure if I love it or not… I’ve tried a few others of this house but I never found something I genuinely love.)

The Escentric Molecules sample kit (which don’t do it for me. My SO hates the cashmeran one, btw). But he is fine with une nuit nomade nothing but sea and sky / une nuit a montauk.

any recommendations? I should add that I completely lost my sense of smell a few years ago and it’s still coming back. But very asymmetrically. I still can’t perceive lavender, for example… so rediscovering perfumes has been such a joy this last year!

After saying i wouldn't get SNK, I did. This is the last of this years fraggy cals, and I've managed to sell the vast majority of anything I've bought and not kept. Figured only a few id keep so I can make my money back. Plus I get £10 points per £100 spend as a deluxe member so girl math says its really only 150.

Wonder if next day delivery will happen thos year as last year they were overwhelmed and had stock issues.

Thanks for the spiky muse warnings, I had just sold mine on vinted and was able to warn the buyer it hadn't been used. I do wonder if HN buy the seconds/ imperfect stock up cheap to put in the Addy cals as surely they are not normally all like this?

For wedding - something you love for sure. I would look at Byredo Bal D'Afrique - absolu, Mojave Ghost the original, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre - if you decide to go with soft and pretty vibe.

weirdly enough the department stores where I’m at and even the „perfumeries“ often have just really generic scents or scents that smell horrible to me every since I’ve started regaining my sense of smell. So I’ve started ordering sample sets to decide whether to buy a full sized one or not…

but you’re absolutely right about just needing to „go for it“. It’s just more difficult with online shopping (imo)

Oh really, are they all like that? I've had ex nihilo travel size in the kits before and they didn't look under full.

So my hand slipped and I ended up buying SNK FAC, I remembered to select next day as I've paid for the pass. It should select it automatically 😕 I need to go into town to go smell some of them, otherwise it'll have to be a chatgpt educated guess as to which ones I'll like. My sense of smell has gone though, which is why I think I have covid 😔

Taking my non perfume-y self on a perfume adventure today. Went to Harrods BORNTOSTANDOUT, their counter person wasn’t there but another lovely Harrods person helped me. They even checked on their phone and they don’t stock the new Black Karak or Black Creme 😂 which is why I went there. I must read the captions on Instagram better! So on my way to Selfridges now. I did spray Dirty Rice and I LOVE IT. It’s got that comfort of a foody smell, without smelling like food. They didn’t have Dirty Milk out. Hopefully I’ll find that at Selfridges too.

Then thinking of going to Lisa Eldridge at Liberty for the sequin lip glosses. I called up ahead and they said they only did the trio kits online and they won’t restock. They have the individual ones in though. Sorry know my last para doesn’t fit this thread exactly.
