Princessing for Christmas 2025

estellacandance · 09/09/2025 10:00

I haven’t seen a princessing thread for ages.

I feel like my self care has been sidelined this year.
My skin, weight and mental health have suffered the most.

So my list to prioritise:
Bed by 11, sleep by midnight
Remove make up at night
Night cream/retinol
Use my LED machines!
Hyaluronic serum in the morning
More frequent & thorough teethbrushing & use whitener.
Have water with me all the time
Take vitamins/supplements with my breakfast.
Daily stretches/yoga inc breath work
Outdoors every day, more forest bathing/blue space.
Drink green tea
Daily smoothie, raw veg & more fruit.
Weekly coconut hair mask.
Pelvic floor exercises 3 times a day
Morning Pages
Read from a book every evening
Squats amap
DIY mani/pedi inc self reflexology/Shiatsu
Reduce UHP foods/drinks
Daily relaxation/meditation with music/incense

Who wants to join?

What are your goals?

I'm in. I'd started some good habits over the summer but they are starting to slip. Looking forward to a coffee in the windy garden later!

tostaky · 16/09/2025 09:26

Currently being a princess with a coffee in my garden!
yoga is booked for 12.30
after this im going to do my pelvic floor exercise
im also going to make an appointment with woman physio
i need to book a hair cut and hair color for early october
Home cooked healthy lunch planned
I will NOT spend any money today
and drink lots of water!!!
Prepare winter tea ice cubes

ModernLife1sRubbish · 16/09/2025 09:41

A reasonable start yesterday...I'm easing myself in one step at a time:
Vitamins
Lots of water
A brisk walk in the evening
No sugar or UPF (the sugar thing is huge for me, I have a terrible addiction)
Hand cream / cuticle oil

Today I plan on doing all the above plus:
Join friend for a swim
PFEs
Foot file and moisturise

Already good at:
No alcohol
Face care routine morning and night
Going to bed early

Umbongoumbongo999 · 16/09/2025 10:10

Progress day 1 Monday

✅ Morning skincare
Healthy eating
Left work on time FTW. I set an alarm on my phone and it went off when I was in a catch up with my boss that was running over by45 minutes and I said, oh, that's my reminder to finish on time, I have to go now 😁
Water target met
Read some of my book
Early night and recorded sleep of 86 on my Fitbit
Went for swim and steam after work
Continuing AF sober September

❌ Have not done my super fridge yet, although I had made a salad the day before for work, and took fruit as a snack
Did not moisturise. I used some L'occitane cream I keep in my gym bag for my face after swimming but my body remains scaly
Did not hit 8k steps. I was basically desk bound today until my swim

fruitbowl100 · 16/09/2025 15:21

can I join plse ?

I am 3 weeks in with:
PT @ 5.30am M-F plus x2 eves a week
Fasting till 1pm then only 2 healthy meals a day
No carbs/junk/crap/bread unless I go out to eat (see below LOL)
Reduce going out to eat
No takeaways
Alcohol only on a weekend night and only if I go out
I have gel toes booked in
I treated myself to a posh shower gel
A long soak every night with lavender to help me sleep
Shave legs every night to avoid any stubble
Moisturise body more - I brought a spray moisturiser which is a lot easier to use than rubbing it in

I still need to:
Get nails booked in (need to wait until pay day for this now)
Book my roots
Lose 2 stone - working on this with the PT. It is going to be a long journey.

lechatnoir · 16/09/2025 15:48

Can I join please - I actually started last week so be good to have some company. I'm aiming for:

2 litres water daily
Daily walk (have dog so just means going out even if someone else walks him)
Take daily multivitamin & cod liver oil
Run/jog 3 x /week (restarted Couch to 5k a few weeks back)
Follow ChatGPT home strength programme (5 days/week inc. upper, lower, core, mobility + full body)
Fruit & veg only for snacks
Max 2 cups of coffee a day
Max 1 diet coke a day
Weekly hair and face mask
Wash & style my hair twice a week (as opposed to wash and ignore)

GameOfJones · 16/09/2025 16:01

Welcome to the newbies. I love reading through these lists.

this is how my list looks today

Day2

  • Do Make up everyday
  • Carry water
  • 7 hours sleep every night
  • Exercise everyday
  • Journal everyday
  • Meditate everyday
  • Smile and laugh everyday
  • No screens after 8pm
  • Read every day

I had sweets today which I now feel disappointed about. I really struggle with afternoon cravings.

on a positive note, I had an amazing yoga class and feel fantastic.

petitpasta · 16/09/2025 22:16

Progress so far

✅️ Proper wind down routine - doing well with this
✅️ Bed by 11, lights out by 11.30
✅️ Evening skincare - thank you whoever suggested doing it earlier in the evening
✅️ Improve water intake at weekends, much better this weekend just gone
✅️ Wear dresses and skirts - two dresses in the outfit selection for this weekend and a gorgeous skirt has just arrived and I know I will wear it a lot
✅️ Plan outfits weekly on Sunday nights - why did I ever stop doing this??? It saves so much time!
✅️ Breakfast smoothie outside unless raining (skipped Storm Amy day 🤣)
✅️ 4 gym classes or online replacement - one swim done, two more planned in plus yoga and pilates

❌️ Complete sewing projects
❌️ Reduce phone time - possibly less said about this the better. Vinted is just too addictive!

@CrystalSingerFanjust a student. Learning for the love of learning & like to keep my cognitive functioning up since I’m no longer able for employment.

Please give my love to the OU - they've been great for such a wide range of students and all our ambitions. Enjoy!

RobinTheCavewoman · 17/09/2025 06:57

Yesterday was ok - some outside time (the coffee turned into 20 mins of gardening!), supplements (omega 3, iron and vits c and d), no upf and protein at every meal, read my book, only one coffee, morning skincare, flossed teeth.

Downside - forgot my magnesium so slept badly and evening skincare got forgotten again.

Today's goal - sort some clothing returns, post a vinted parcel, book therapy or a gp session as my mental health is slipping, attend a meditation class in-person, sort an outfit for an in-person office day.

RobinTheCavewoman · 17/09/2025 06:59

I also journalled and started the day with water instead of coffee 💪

ClearFruit · 17/09/2025 07:01

What on earth is princessing, and where do you all find the time?

Wigtopia · 17/09/2025 07:09

a bit late to the party but here is mine

  • drink more water
  • increase variety of vegetables in meals
  • moisturise body (not just face!)
  • get back into working out each weekday (I was on a roll with this for about a month then stopped but not sure why!)
  • take time to sit down and enjoy my first coffee of the morning without doing other things at the same time
Doseydots · 17/09/2025 08:31

Good morning, seeing all your morning posts is inspiring me for today. @RobinTheCavewoman sorry to hear that you are suffering. I hope you get an appointment pretty quickly.
@ClearFruit its basically self care for 100 days. It generally things that we already do regularly but the challenge is to do them consistently for 100 days to make it a habit. Everyone has their own individual list. Feel free to join us.
Does anyone listen to the Mel Robbins podcast, it’s a very good listen and her books are an excellent read. Anyway last weeks podcast, she talks about saying 8 sentences to ourselves before we’ve even got out of bed. Apparently, saying them every morning for 30 days can re-wire our brains. I will post them later on today.

petitpasta · 17/09/2025 08:32

I have never studied with them but I genuinely think that the OU is one of the wonders of the 20th century. One of the downsides of blind recruitment is that I don't see which university someone attended. It was never the usually mentioned ones that got me excited, it was always the OU. It told me so much about the personal resilience and organisation of the applicant.

Doseydots · 17/09/2025 09:33

Here’s the list as promised. I would highly recommend listening to the podcast which explains the reasoning behind them.

  1. Today is going to be a great day.
  2. Something cool is going to happen for me today.
  3. No matter what happens today, I can handle it.
  4. An exciting new chapter in my life is starting today.
  5. I need to give myself more credit for how hard I’m trying.
  6. I’m allowed to be a work in progress.
  7. If I keep showing up, life will reward me.
  8. I have an important contribution to make to the world.
Sunnybow94 · 17/09/2025 10:54

Didn’t quite achieve everything yesterday as it seems I just don’t want to work out right now 😆.
So far I’ve talked myself out of eating McDonald’s, actually walked in and out twice but didn’t cave and instead ate a very healthy homemade Thai style chicken burger.
I got my nails done, applied a tinted moisturiser, tinted my brows then booked a proper appointment for next week because they look crap.
This morning I’ve prepped a healthy dinner and now I’m sat having a nice coffee reading my book as I worked late last night.
I can tell I’m going to struggle with motivation to work out, need a kick up the bum!

flutterby1 · 17/09/2025 11:40

I’ll join 👀

thesnailandthewhale · 17/09/2025 18:25

PinballWizened · 16/09/2025 07:00

@thesnailandthewhale I also had the H&B advent calendar, sort of squinted when I bought it so that the contents would be a surprise!
If you’re going to post the contents, would you be willing to do it as a ‘sensitive’ image so people have to click on to see (I think that’s how it works) to avoid spoilers?
Otherwise I might have to duck off the thread (and remain a hideous swamp creature) 😂

I won't ruin the surprise :) :)

thesnailandthewhale · 17/09/2025 18:31

A busy day at work today and I'm coming down with a cold, so skipped the gym tonight, have had a long hot bath and am in pj's already, going to have a very early night. Tomorrow I have a late night at work so want to get ahead on the sleep beforehand.
