OMG Mary!
I like the trousers and I like the jacket, but were you supposed to wear both at the same time? 🤔

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 24/08/2025 10:43

I've just seen it on video and I think it looks better in person/in movement. Not as bulky/wide as it looks on the photo.

Here's a summer photo from Mary's segment on a gardening show, filmed at her wild garden at Fredensborg. She wore shorts and a nice pair of flat shoes, but I can't find a photo that shows it properly.

(I think I should I interject here that I once owned a velvet suit with a bold floral pattern, and wore the full suit rather than breaking it up. So I do have a certain love for clothing cum soft furnishings...😆)

See, a bold pattern on velvet sounds great. I like strong colours, and just think such a pattern perhaps called for that. We know Max would have similar in orange and purple 😊

That's a really nice outfit, love the top.

Yes but that's why I like this one. I don't want to see an interesting suit that looks like every other interesting suit. So if the automatic reaction is, well, I think she should have worn separates or I think the pattern should have been brighter, then I tend to think it's been done right!

Yes I thought I loved Mary’s top too. But then I saw the sleeve proportions- so wide. Not sure about bermudas either but she is pushing her style boundaries this summer for sure.

Mary has also worn this striped linen suit which is nice for a summer work event. I see all three outfits posted today have her in the same necklace so it must be a current favourite. Unless she has accidentally left all her other jewellery in another palace!

I like the striped suit.

Yes I love it too. Very pretty, very relaxed.

I just came upon those photos from that photo shoot (the one on the roof with Fred in his dishevelled suit and Mary in her party gown) today. Raised an eyebrow again, heh.

Eaumyword · 24/08/2025 11:09

Me too, love the striped suit with a white accent. Lovely summery colours.

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 24/08/2025 11:10

Yes, that suit is lovely. She wore tan sandals with it.

Actually I'm not sure sandal is the right term. Open toed, high heels. But whatever they were I thought they looked good.

Choux · 24/08/2025 11:11

Victoria wore a similar pattern to Mary’s suit this week but hers was a dress. She toned it down with a dark blazer and I think it works.

Victoria also channelled Kate’s Self Portrait look at a visit to a Saab factory. Afterwards she went to help a town celebrate its’ 750th anniversary and everyone got drenched. But she is beaming in all the photos.

Edited to add: goodness knows what she needs to carry in a bag that size. Perhaps that’s where she kept the raincoat that she put on in later shots.

Victoria's dress looks a bit chinoiserie, nice. The Self Portrait outfit was a bit divisive, but I think it looks nice on both women.

Ok, I'm going to say Mary's suit is interesting. I don't think it works particularly well, though, a mixture of the cut and the pattern.

yeah - it has a bit of a curtain fabric vibe
