It’s funny looking back at the glamorous photos of Anne taken when she was younger when (I guess) she was more minded to conform to public expectations of the Queen’s daughter. Here she is in a photoshoot when she was 21.

Looking at photos of Anne taken over the years there’s a much greater variation in makeup styles and banquet gowns than I was expecting. The change in portrait photography styles between her youth and now is really striking: there's some serious soft focus and romantic staging in the early photoshoots!

Camilla looked nice in a Dior dress and Philip Treacy hat at the VJ service.

That's a really lovely outfit. I like the fullness of the skirt created by the pleats and the suggestion of fullness in the sleeves, but not too much. That's a fantastic hat!

One thing that hasn't changed over the years is Anne's devotion to big hair! She loves a bouffant.

Yep. She definitely loves the bouffant. This is not a woman who understands the concept of flat hair.

However this is my absolute favourite Dior dress on Camilla and possibly her best ever look (imho).

Hopefully the link works - I think the youtube algorithms are feeding me royal clips! It's (the then CP) Mary giving a speech to Fred for his 50th. It's in Danish but youtube helpfully gave me English subtitles. It was nice to hear Mary talking, as I only ever see photos of her. I thought it a very personal speech, quite sweet really.

She has been wearing a lot of that basic style this summer, in different colours and fabrics, with different details, hasn't she. Always looks cool in hot weather.

Yes, but the Dior one is gently belted, which makes a huge difference from a lot of her usual picks.

The dress she wore at Chelsea was also belted. Details were different, but the basic shape was similar.

I think I've seen another similar one this summer, but can't now recall where.

Cams has never looked better. That royal blue gown is gorgeous and her white day dress is fab.
She's getting excellent help with hair, skin and makeup too.

The Spanish royals on holiday in Mallorca, as they do every summer. Going out to dinner after visiting the Joan Miro exhibition and all looking lovely in great summery outfits. I like Felipe's blue and white look. Leti in Hugo Boss.

I saw that the other week and though I like the dress, there's something not quite right about the proportions. I think the waist is too high?

I think it's an Empire waistline.
