I wonder how much time the royals spend travelling? Balmoral to York isn't exactly a short hop, unless you helicopter it, I guess! I always find travelling really tiring (though tbf I'm usually in cattle class ), it must take it's toll on them.

First class or chauffeured travel to a destination sounds ok to me! And they usually stay at Balmoral for several weeks so they have plenty of time to recover from the trip.

Love that blue evening dress. Normally Queen Jetsun’s traditional outfits steal the show as they are so bright and different to western dress but the blue outfit holds its’ own entirely.

This is an interesting article about the origins of the pink diamond in the late Queen’s diamond flower brooch. I was amused to read that Queen Mary was most put out when

Lovely explanation. I had a compliment today on my pink stone pendant. Kunzite rather than a rare diamond though 😂

Do we need a different Princess?. I think we do. Princess Edna Mekonnen of Ethiopia. She looks absolutely stunning in the green cutaway dress, plus the baby, Elianna is gorgeous!

Not normally a fan of a cutaway dress as imho they can look a bit um...but she looks fabulous in that dress. Same goes for the colour - not normally a fan of that colour, but it really suits her.

Nice touch with the gold buckle detail matching the bracelets.

Ok, I'm going to say Mary's suit is interesting. I don't think it works particularly well, though, a mixture of the cut and the pattern.

Yes, I like to see people try different looks, it's good to go out of your comfort zone. However, in this instance I don't think it works. I wonder if the pattern in a stronger combination of colours would look better?

I don't know...again, I think the fact that it's against type makes it much more interesting; I like the unexpected even if it doesn't always work. Personally I think the end result looks good enough/is inoffensive enough that it can be seen as a success. But I value out of the ordinary so I automatically give it extra points as long as it's not stupidly out there.
