I really like Leti's summery pink dress and Cam's floral there too. Very nice.

Chesticles · 18/08/2025 23:37

Leti’s dress makes her look really short and dumpy, which she definitely is not. On the model it is ballerina length and looks a lot better. I also hate her shoes. So it’s a miss for me. I like the girls dresses though.

Queen Rania showing beautiful summer wear is not just dresses. I love this outfit!

Love Rania's yellow skirt, though at first I thought it was culottes!

Maireas · 19/08/2025 08:43

I love the yellow, Rania is always so elegant.

a link to Sophie in Edinburgh https://www.newmyroyals.com/2025/08/the-duke-and-duchess-of-edinburgh.html

I hate that she often ruins a nice dress by putting an ugly suit jacket over it. The pictures aren't great, but I think I like both dresses. I do love this picture of her with a veteran. She is a bit like a quieter Max, so engaged and seems to care about her work and visits.

Sophie looks like someone chivalrous lent her a suit jacket as she was chilly, the orange dress looks lovely

Maireas · 19/08/2025 10:44

"a quieter Max", I think that's a really nice description. I like the Proenza Schuler dress, it's an interesting cut. I also like her in the pink sweater. Lovely images with the veterans.

Nice dresses - shame about the asymmetrical hemlines.

FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem · 19/08/2025 13:03

I like that Cams still nips out shopping with her family - I expect the logistics of security etc make it a bit more involved that actually "nipping out", but it's good that she can still keep her feet on the ground by doing everyday activities, even if only occasionally.

They do in Balmoral, they're pretty much left alone in Ballater. In fact it's unusual to have those pap shots.

Tourist took those pictures not locals. When William and Catherine lived in Anglesey the locals protected their privacy.

Yes, it's the same with Anne and Tim on their sailing holidays in the Western Isles. The locals leave them alone

A bit like when W&C were left to their own devices while they were in Anglesey I guess. Probably why the royals love being at Balmoral so much - they're away from the the intrusion and glare of London, with the tacit understanding between them and the locals that they'll be left alone.

Interesting collection of tiaras from Portugal.

"Queen Augusta Victoria’s Tiaras | The Royal Watcher" https://royalwatcherblog.com/2021/08/29/queen-augusta-victorias-tiaras/

Goodness! That fleur-de-lys coronet is something else. You'd need to have pretty good posture and a lot of pins to stop it falling over.

Maireas · 19/08/2025 14:13

Thanks for the link, @justasking111 . Yes, that's some coronet! The Fleur de Lys tiara is lovely, though.

I've bought my very proudly Welsh DIL a copy of the Fleur de lee prince of Wales brooch/pendant princess Diana had. It's very pretty. It's for her birthday.

Interesting, thank you. I've noticed that she's often over the decades done interesting things with scarves at her neckline.

Back in the early eighties I had a kilt I adored wore it a lot in the winter. I had another tartan skirt I wore to death. I bought myself a plaid dress for Christmas day last year. Always been a fan of them.

Go for it, @justasking111 !
