My 1980s jeans were baggy. Except the early 1980s narrow ones with leg warmers.

Love that suit collection of Kate’s. That’s a lot of different colours there!

Meghan’s jeans and shirt thing look very good - I pretty much always like her casual separates.

I like Sophie’s dress. I agree the short sleeves are great and the fitted shirt style
of the top with the collar is great on her. I also agree it is still a bit long but it works better as the fabric looks to have a bit more structure.

I think Meghan looks way better in casual clothes and I like the shirt and jeans. I don’t think it looks dated 🤷‍♀️. Thank god she is wearing some colour. That bloody awful
beige should be banned

I like Sophie's dress too. Very summery.

Going against the grain here, but do not like Sophie’s dress. Style yes, pattern no.

As for Meghan - I think she has nailed casual. Plus I also have a large selection of oversized shirts and jeans so not biased at all 😊

I like the floral sundress and the burgundy sweater. The striped shirt dress is interesting too.

Thanks, locket, for the Anne retrospective. That woman looks good in a uniform! I also like the simple white evening dress from the early 70s. That needs a rewear!

Meghan's look is classic and timeless. I like it

I bought two striped shirts in the spring after seeing them in Ralph Lauren. Blue and white and pink and white.Had so many compliments. I got them from Temu though 😂. My DIL has bought one too. My summer school uniform was a red and white striped dress which I loved.

I bought a burgundy and white striped shirt from H&M yesterday! Love it. Too hot to wear it at the moment, though!

It's raining hallelujah. Yes it's too hot for almost all my clothes I keep washing the same loose dresses. My hair is a lanky mess 😩

I can’t really tell the difference between the Veronica Beard Bligh navy striped dress and the Zoe and Claire one for a fifth of the price. The design is so similar! Maybe a different material. But if I had designed one, the other would really annoy me…

Would anyone like a copy of Suzy Menkes' 1985 book "The Royal Jewels"? I appear to have bought 2 copies. I blame the gin.

It's old, obviously, but there is so much stuff in there that I can't remember seeing before. Some hilariously awful stuff and some absolute beauties.

As no-one else gets 80s vibes my mental image must be as much imaginary concoction as actual recollections - on reflection I'm probably too young to have reliable memories of that period.

Don't get me wrong, I like a shirt as much as the next woman, even an oversized one, however I strongly dislike the way Meghan has styled hers. It's the tucked in, but artfully puffing out slightly to give extra volume and shaping look that I can't stand. I'm not keen on higher waisted denim either.

My favourite shirt is a million miles from crisp stripes, but then my lifestyle is even further from Meghan's...

We surely should!
